The bottom of the magnet have a heat sink that go inside where the coil is. This is a brand thing on any speaker. This will keep the coil colder and the magnet as well. The end user can play for longer time.
Hey @americanbassaudio why is your website so devoid of detail on enclosure specs? There's either like only 1 box design or some closely guarded secret?
Been running these subs for about a year now I like them even though I ordered the xr12s44 got 1222 blew them and got these hawks and I never had a problem with them good subs
It’s been so cool watching you grow and get all these subs tested. You’re always SO EXCITED, I love it dude. You did the work and it really paid off!! So many people have got better subs for their money because of you. That’s good for the industry!
@@dustylee8111 love the stuff no doubt.. The bit of irony it is owned by an middle eastern dude while being called american bass... But he seems pretty nice and the product for the money is insane. So not hating. Just a little laughter for a moment
I just got 2 of these 12” and what an upgrade! I have them in a 4.5cf box tuned to 33Hz with a Sundown SIA-3500d, they hit hard and low. This was a great upgrade from the Skar EVLs I had.
Really good videos. Nice looking sub. I've been a Bass Head since 1990 (when I was 17yrs old lol). The best main subs and equipment then were Kicker, Rockford Fosgate and MTX. Amps were Kicker, Fosgate, MTX, Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, and Alpine. Head Units Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, Alpine, and Clarion. These were the best in 1990. In 1991 and all the way until today they came out with more and more New and old manufactures, with new and better equipment. There was a big difference in between 90 and 91. Speakers Subs, and Amps were poppin out everywhere. My first decent system was a Sony Cassette player (CD players would Skip if ya didn't have money for a alpine then), 4-10 inch Orion XTR subs, 3 California Profile Amps, and 2- 6.5 inch Orion door speakers In 1995.
I'm 41 so close to your age. I can imagine your system was one of if not the loudest around depending on where you lived. Those Orion subs were crazy loud at the time. And the old California amps.... took me back to Panama City spring break 1999. Things were so different back then. Electronics have advanced so much, I can't imagine where things will go from here.
I shared a link to your page with my older brother now he thinks he's an audio file expert and got his Tahoe full of Scar and Sundown equipmentand now he's pissed off like crazy because he has to spend stupid dumb money upgrading his charging system wiring and batteries but I'm proud of him because he's going the lithium route all thanks to you.
Hi Parker, your channel is what bassheads have always wanted, someone showing what they do before we spend the money, A God send to modern bassheads, I used to have to trust noobs or just spend the money & find out if it was worth it, glad your here now. I would love to see a pair of American bass HD 18" subs on that 12K amp of yours, I know it's an expensive build , it's perfect for them tho, but get ready to replace your windshield. Blow it up!
I think another thing to note about the spl test is the fact that it hit those numbers in such a big cabin of that Toyota Sequoia. It had all that room and still hit above 140, so something smaller like a hatchback Honda would do even better
I've been looking real close at those bro contacted American bass and they said that it has a patented cooling feature that no other company has yet! That's the whole idea behind that funny-looking plate on the motor😁
Thx 74 Midwestbass! this is what Parker is suppose to be knowing instead of "dont know what this plastic thingi on here is...Let me know if anyone knows. WTF. Thats why YOUR doing the review bro, why YOUR the one making $ for people to see and learn about this stuff! That's ridiculous! Thankfully my boy midwest is on top of s**t! Cause i for one was very pleased and intrigued to find this out. Its only basically the whole reason for this sub, another 1500rms to exist.
I would love to see the sound stream. Team. Subs those look awesome. Nice baskets and good size motor not exactly budget but if it is the caliber sub it looks to be it may be worth it a budget banger
Hey man I respect your professionalism and the time you take to educate people. Keep pushing and staying consistent. You are doing a great job. I've learn so much from you.
Aye nice, I hit a 140.2db with a skar evl 12 on 1500w rms (probabaly less due to box rise) in a self designed enclosure. One issue I'm running into now is that my rear Lexus seats don't fold down so all my sound comes through the factory sub hole in my rear deck. I just want to say thanks, Parker. You helped me envision my build and my channel is slowly growing now as we speak. 🙏🏾
I had the same problem with 90% of bass being trapped in trunk so I made the extreme decision to cut out my entire trunk deck metal lid where the sub hole was and that helped a lot. Still not as good as most cars with open cabin but it's as good as it will get.
@@owenanderson2306depending on the space you have you’re probably not gonna be able to move enough air i’d say go with 2 12s in a proper custom box and you’d get more out of them compared to the 15s. Unless you have a huge trunk or open cabin those 15s arent gonna sound the way u want. Those 15s are gonna need a huge box as well.
@@davidmadison5582 thanks! My jl is in a 2.0 cubic ft tuned at 31hz. I'm wanting to put the JL in wife's car and find a sub that does well in 2.0 as my box is custom made for my car. So many options out there I really can't decide.
So, I'm completely new to this but I wanted to upgrade my little Colorado extended cabs sound system. Went with a single Kicker solo LS7 12 in their factory ported box tuned to 34 hertz. Using a 1200 watt kicker amp. Will this sound good and cause my neighborhood to hate me? Any feed back is appreciated. Love the vids man. Also thinking of putting and amp in for my mids and highs. Do or don't?
I bought 2 of these while waiting for my soundqubed hd3 recones which are behind schedule but these work . I do like them but I like my soundqubed better they look tiny next to the soundqubeds
I actually recognize some of the songs: 5:34 Thug Motivation 101 - [Young] Jeezy 7:00 Numb Numb Juice - Schoolboy Q 8:45 Gilligan - DRAM ft. Juicy J Note: the first song came out back in 2005 when he was called Young Jeezy but he just goes by Jeezy nowadays; making this note in case he’s listed as either one online
Ive ran American bass HD xfl Dr and vfl my xfl 23s were louder in my f150 supercrew on my taramps 5k then my bread bounve were.both custom boxes from birch.tuned at 34 hertz.american bass is one of the loudest subd I've heard and I've installed almost everything since 1996.had a 350 amp mechman amt. 5 xs agms.never dropped below 14.1b.but too each there kwn
Thanks for reviewing this sub. I’ve been looking at the XFL series... think you said you ran one in the past. Do they handle their power rating? Have you played with the XR series at all? Thanks
Great videos bro 💯💯, I'm about to purchase 4 budget 12s for my s10 blazer, and I know you have owned both, but looks like they were tested in a different box at the time, out of the American Bass Hawk 12, or the American Bass XFL 12, which one do you think would be louder spl wise, in exact same power, box, and vehicle??? I've got 2 cab 45s, and I know the hawk and xfl, are very close in price, which would you choose for the spl #s?? Thanks bro
Waiting on my second one 👍🏽 these are really beefy and heavy in person 😍 i am amazed by their build quality at their price point. Cant wait to put them both on my banda beat 3001 at 1 ohm in a custom box i will be building myself 💣 plenty videos on installation, my wire prep ocd kicking in, amp rack, 0gauge cable, etc coming soon on my channel! been doing systems for years on everyones cars.. its time to do mine properly for youtube 🤝
I went all out and just got a sounqubed hdx4 12 and wow it sounds awesome! Though I did have it rear firing and thought I would fire it into the cab and lost the ummmph. Flipped it back to rear firing and wow its night and day kinda shocked its still stiff as hell and I'm breaking it on a rockford p1000bd which has a birth sheet of 1480 rms at one ohm! Ordering a soundqubed 2250 watter next after its broke in! Can not wait as its getting a little louder each ride to and home from work !
What's the latest update I have the hds2 and hsd3 I'm looking to upgrade from that to something. I already have one s1-2250 about to buy another (I run dual 12's) this week next I'm getting sub's and I don't know if I want to go with hdx3-4 , American bass or something from a guy in AZ that makes good stuff
@@adamneill9237 good to know I ended up buying two more amps two soundqubed Q1-2200.2' I'm going to run @.5 each and I got a 300 amp alternator next im getting a lithium battery bank then I'll get my subs
If you can find the AB HDv2 12's for under $289ea. They are about the best for the $ unless you were able to snag the Wolfram AUv3's about 14mo ago. Can't go wrong w/ HDX4 bc they'll take big power, and have great motor force(Bl). Also can't go wrong w/ Fi Neo 3.x but not sure on build time.
Hey Parker... I spoke to Bob at American bass yesterday about the hawk, he says it's the same woofer as the XFL... except for new heat sink technology... maybe you can look for it and point it out. I also told him of your channel and while on the phone he watched the video on his end.... and reacted,, right on!
ive been on multiple of your videos trying to get you to check these out, i had 2 of these and loved them but ended up going with 2 xr15inch about a month later but might go to 2 hawk 15s soon or maybe 2 15inch xmaxxx... that extra metal piece on the motor is a heat sink
You need about 10k rms amp and charge system if you get 2 xmaxx I've got 2 15's and only have 1 in my truck right now and on 2 APMI2000's strapped and it takes it no problem
I have two of the exact speakers in a enclosed box what's the best enclosure and most important the best amplifier to get the full potential out of these speakers I've gotten a lot of suggestions and wasting a lot of money listening to other people can you help me out with this
Good stuff right here! I have 3 American Bass12s in a custom built chamberd box, I did not build it a friend of mine did, I am planning on installing them in my 93 s10 ext cab this summer, I'm thinking of 2 1500 watt amps would work well but I'm old school af bro, what brand/brand's would you recommend?
I was wondering if maybe you could give me some advice I spent a lot of money well to me it's like a lot of money and I bought a skar 3,500.1D amp 3500rms and a massive hippo 122r which is 3,000 RMS I'm pretty sure I can get it louder but I am not sure if I should keep it on 1 ohm for now or switch it over to 2 ohm until I get either a battery or a bigger alternator
I just bought another Titan 15in. It also has the 3in voice coil and 170 Oz magnets. I wonder how the power handling is 3000 w 1500 RMS? The hawk seems to have a bigger magnet so how are they the same power rating? Thank you.
15" RE Audio XX15D. This American Bass 4layer VC where as RE Audio has 8layer VC. Just curious about them I have 2 already but not sure how durable they are. I hardly use mine lol
Hard for me to understand why he likes the XFL over the Hawk. The XFL is 1,000 watts RMS. The Hawk is 1,500 watts RMS. The main reason it’s not getting sloppy during the ultra low part is it can easily handle that where the XLF is probably reaching its limits. Love the video Parker.
Im about to order the Down4sound jp8 which is 800 watts on paper but willotson labs has a video saying it Dyno tested around 1600-1800 watts rms so I’m gonna go with a single sub for around $200 what should I get I want it to pound I’ve done research on subs from Dc to ct sounds to American bass there’s just so many out there today which would be best your opinion.
Yo bro I'm debating between the hawk 15 or AudioPipe Bdc4 15. The bdc4 has a 3.3" copper voice coil but has a 220oz motor. Which would handle more power?
