I see a money pit. It might be a good fit for a young couple with little kids but to have that much to refurbish and then maintain when it’s just you and your husband is a massive undertaking.
Needs a lot of work, Sam would need some, maybe lots of help. I didn't see a riding area/arena. Chino could go in a paddock with short grass. The old barn did not look safe. it looks like it would collapse if a tornado or very strong winds came along. You can bring your shelter with you for one of the paddocks. Some independent living practice for Gabby with her own area. Your choice to make as you all need to be happy to live there.
I’d definitely have to rip out the inside of those barns and re-do the fencing. But if you’re willing to put a lot of time and money into it… it’s got a lot of good space. New stalls, fencing, an arena put in and you’ve got a good set up there. The structural integrity of some of those barns certainly look questionable though🤣 … would be a project that’s very pricey, but equally one that would be extremely worth it
Every single thing will need repairing,rebuilding or complete renovation. Sam could never do it by himself, the job is just too massive. A lot of the fencing needs replacing and the feilds need re-seeding. The kitchen needs renovating. The barns need quite a bit of work and you think it's cold in your stable....all those barns are pretty draughty and wide open. Could have leaking roofs as well. No outdoor arena and no indoor. It's goinig to take a huge amount of funds to do all that and many years of hard work. Then of course it all has to be maintained. If you had at least a renovated house or stable and barns to start off with it might be doable but literally everything needs work. Not trying to burst your bubble but I would give it a pass.
I have not seen a smile like that from Gabby in a long time, it was awesome to see... Looks like a really fun place to grow into. Could be a fun new journey.
I didn't see it! Can you believe we never used to have tornadoes, and now suddenly we get them here! It's crazy! Sophie and I were in the lesson barn during the first one we had. Thank goodness nothing bad happened!
It looks so good. Lots of room to grow, lots of work and cleaning too, but I think you'd love it. Love Gabby's room, perfect for her now she's older and getting more independent. Idk where you'd put an arena, I didn't see one. I'm interested to see if you get it and how it turns out.
The property has a lot of potential. It needs an enormous amount of work. There is a lot of cosmetic work in the house & I would do some rehabbing in the house. Given the size of your family & how much you like to entertain I would consider redoing the kitchen & the dining room to be one big open space with a nice central island with bar stools. You need to have everything thoroughly inspected in order to avoid unwanted surprises. Is wiring up to date? Water? Are you on a sewer? Is that connection good? Or are you using septic tanks? How old are they? Are there older septic fields on the property that are not usable? Are they properly sealed? What about access to water? You have lots of fields, which is great, but how will you provide water to the animals & if you plan to plant any crops (hay) is there easy acces to have irrigation or does an irrigation system already exist? What about the integrity of the buildings on the property? I think this could definitely be the farm of your dreams. A lot depends on the price because you want to have enough left in the budget to take care of any issues that need immediate attention & then have a plan & a budget to bring everything else up to par & do the cosmetic work in the house.
The farm looks cosy and cute but also looks like A LOT OF WORK just to get set up ❤❤❤ My heart tells me it's not your farm but I'm interested to see ❤❤
@DayByDayVlogs the good thing about properties like that are you can generally get a bargain if you're willing to but in the the sweat and tears to get it cleaned up ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Yay, if it has a lot of land with it. I didnt see an indoor or outdoor arena. The barn with the stall doors made from pallet wood could be a goat barn for sure.

@@DayByDayVlogs Yeah I thought the green with the wood didn’t really work as the green was to dark for it. I would suggest going warm neutral white colour with that wood. Which looks to be rimu.
It definitely looks like a lot of work. It also looks pretty chaotic. I like all the room it has and potential. Its quite old and i think the old barn doesnt look very safe. I like Gabbys space but i dont think you would see much of her. The washer and dryer appeared to be in her bathroom which may be annoying. It appears as though yall could have an office. And last thing i didnt see an arena or place for one.
The fields alone were chaotic! It was like endless gates going from field to field! Gabby keeps her computer wherever the office is and hangs out there. She's never been someone to stay in her room! I don't think she's ever even watched TV in her bedroom before. I could see the washer and dryer in gabbys bath being an issue, or she would end up doing the majority of the laundry, lol!
Omg pls buy it it has so much potential and the horses would love it there and you can grow you farm so much more and y’all can get new horses and goats lol I think you and you kids would love it❤
Just an idea. If you don't have any, might be a good idea to have a couple or a few atvs. Could get carts to pull behind to haul stuff. Like hay to fields, whatever. Plus if your not all up to walking alot at times, or emergency with the horses etc., where need to get faster. Would save on gas used for full size tractor, if you don't need to use the tractor. Would save on Sams knee problem too.
I think it looks incredible. Just a few minor touches inside the house, but it gives you and the girls an opportunity to put some personal touches and finishes to the house.. I love that the girls seem so excited! It's a huge step, but there is more for the horses and the barns are huge and provide so much.
Yess go for it it’s amazing for you all to grow the bedrooms are perfect for the kids gabbies is perfect for her and the barns and fields are alot of work but would be worth it as you can all grow more plenty of room for ideas and more animals !
When I look at this barn, I think of boarding immediately to help pay for all the improvements. Especially if there are trails on or near to the land. It would be so much work to make it a show barn, but a private boarding facility could be great for people to ride with and even help maintain it. I had people work for board all the time and it was a win-win.
This would be my idea too . I can come and bring my horses there and start boarding them and then put a small house somewhere and I live on the property too and work lol . Ooh what a dream ! I finally would have someone who I could go riding with ! Lol It's a great farm ! Laura how many acres to you guys own now ?
I would grab it so much grazing and stalls for all the horses and pony's OK it need some work but you can do that over time and you have good fencing and I think you can find a place to make for riding even the house is large much better than what you have now .
The only people that can say yes or no are you guys yes there is a lot of work to be done I would think about it carefully there is a lot of fields and it's a big place to grow but what ever you decide make sure it's the right choice
you can rent some out a barn and a field. Maybe to a neighboring farmer that needs space. Or have some to share hay fields. They cut and bale and they get half for their time and expense. I had to in the end because unexpected hardship. He used one barn for storage and young animals. Goats sheep and calves. Worked out great. And all i had to do is walk through the barn and the field to see that every thing was in good health. Also he took care of the barn and fences as well.
I actually see TONS of potential. Yes there are always some repairs and changes to make but if you found a farm that was perfect and needed no changes, then it wouldn’t really be YOURS! It reminds me a lot of my first farm when I bought it. The house was built in the 1800’s and needed a LOT of work and the barns were in need of tons of work but after about a year it was amazing and MINE!

Can you tell me about the fences? People are saying they need to be redone. Is that because horses shouldn't be in those kind of fences? It was a goat farm previously. The fences are mostly in good repair.
Love it ❤ gaɓbys bedroom is perfect for her age sheyl never need to move out, it large enough for her to start a little horsie buisness. it looked like you all loved it too the old barn looks alittle scary but the paddocks and the other outhouses look great. A little hidden gem i can see goats and lots more chickens, but it all comes with alot more work x

I agree! I think we could get a lot done in a short time. A nice cool day would help as well! Gabby could definitely live in that room for a while and her own bathroom, lol. I half want to buy her a project horse. She loves loves loves riding horses like hops that she has to calm down!
I love old Barns too ! They r so neat! I think you could do ALOT w this property. Would be nice to have more than two pastures for the horses wouldn't it? And you could use the barns for multiple things! I love auto waters they rnice to have. I once worked at a boarding barn w auto waters. Was wonderful never had to worry about water buckets.
It will take work, but I can definitely see the potential. I think Sam and gabby will really enjoy fixing up the barns and paddocks. Fingers crossed you get it :)
You are right goats love weeds and will clean up all fence lines and sheep will clean up the fields. Everything will come into sight. Then the work clean up will begin.
The layout of this place seems really odd. Like, it’s hard to really picture exactly how it all goes together inside. And all the outside buildings would be a major overhaul, like an insane amount of work and basically a gut job
I would like to own that property myself😂 it definitely needs work but your girls are old enough now to help you guys. Is it close to your community? The lesson barn and trainers? Your other family? If youre worried about the grass being short just neglect mowing one of the many fields lol

I say if it’s in your price range and you’re willing to do some work and customizing to make it your own then go for it! 🤗 there’s sooo much space and seems like a lot more opportunity for you guys to make it your “dream farm”. Gabby has been incredibly driven, setting up her room, lol. I love seeing her enjoy the moving process. At 16, I thought she would Hate moving but she's been loving it!
I haven’t watched your videos in years it’s a lovely I think it would really suit you. The only downside is when girls gets older it probably be you and Sam only living there.
This looks like a very dated house but with TLC it could look magnificent I like this house but the outside and buildings would take more attention than you would want to put into it I'm sure.

The owners were still cleaning when we were there, so I'm guessing a lot of that would be done but would still need a ton of work in the barns, but definitely a lot of space!
It is perfect. You could turn one of the fields into an outdoor arena, and you could also turn one of the barns into an indoor arena. The horses will all have stalls for the night.
My heart is saying yes this is your new farm. I feel it in your smiles, the happiness and the heart that is in that place. It surely seems like a good fit. Does it need some work? YES but doesn't everything good in life? I say If there is room to grow...its good to go. ;) Go where your heart is happy!
