Subbed. Great channel. Love the straight forward, no music style. Question: where do you get your trays? I e been buying Daniel Marshall’s for about $20 a piece, but I’m always looking to save a couple of dollars where I can.
I don’t use any Boveda to humidify the cigar I store in weather tight containers. The top container stores only Boveda incase I need to bump up humidity in a humidor. I haven’t used any humidification in my weather tight humidors for over a year and a half now.
I like how everything came together for sure. I wish I could show my 2A collection on the channel as well, but google already hates channels like this. 🙄 5 years ago I was trainning to be a competition shooter. Had to stop because that was more expensive than the cigars hobby is. 😂
I don’t dry box with boveda in the humidor. I just add my cigars. If I need to bump up the humidity, i will do so without cigars in the box. Then I remove the humidification once the humidor gets to the level I want it. Most of the time your humidity will jump up just by adding cigars.
Yeah, fam. Those bigger boxes work so much better. I recently made the same switch. I was using an old Camacho box from the early 00's but I had to let em sit for days ahead of time and realized it was almost the same as just staging the stuff outside the storage container 😂 I won a DE humidor I was gonna use but finally had to face facts that it won't hold humidity (can't figure out why either, great build, ace seal, in an ideal room, just won't hold) and started using it to dry box instead and it's worked like a dream since 💯
That’s exactly how you do it my friend! You definitely have mastered the dry boxing technique. 😀 very smart move, using your DE humidor as a drying box. I need to start loading mine up tonight, for I can smoke on my next day off. 😁
@@DLovWifeYeah I figured my 36% box might shock the sticks a bit. Do you recommend a sealed box like a humidor or are old cigar boxes fine? :Edit: Also what's your take in storing @ 69% then dry boxing for a day or two before smoking vs long term storage in the low 60s?
Absolutely, haha. I also have a bunch of boxes as well. Also, just because a humidor says 3000 cigars doesn’t mean it holds that many. The general rule of thumb is 80%. So that’s about 2,400 cigars. I definitely have more than 3,000 cigars, let alone 2,400. Haha wooden humidors look nice but they aren’t good for bulk storage. They are also expensive and eat into the cigar budget. I would rather stick with containers any day of the week.
