If the avg selling price of a 4 door wildtrack is $75k, there’s no way this goes for anything less than $100k… MSRP means nothing now especially with Bronco’s
You have to order to get MSRP. Dealerships that are marking up over msrp will be disciplined by Ford. Spoke with a dealership that explained the entirety of the situation to me. These greedy dealers will get what's coming to them. Make no mistake.
@@dylan5367 most of the time, but dont be deceived, plenty of stories of people ordering custom built online and the dealership where they pick it up STILL marks it up. Literally need a notarized purchase agreement in writing to prevent these slimeballs from screwing you over.
@@unitaper I think the term is “ more money than brains “ it’s a fad like skinny jeans and bad beer. Most of them will never see dirt ( probably a good thing), engines are failing, yet weekend warriors still paying over retail.
There is a whole world of wealthy tech company employees/executives that most people don't really grasp how many there are. They are goons buying these rediculous prices vehicles.
The extra flares look fine and in the mud you absolutely have to have them if you don't want to be covered in mud. If they had extended the flare as part of the fender, that would look goofier not to mention if it took a hit. I suspect that the flares can be removed if necessary.
The flares should be removable as ford made the actual side panels easily removable in the normal bronco models incase you took damage on a trail. You can easily pop them off on the inside of the hood
@@kevinhood9781 ...you ask "who" would drive their $80k+ vehicle through the mud...well, that is Land Rover's entire marketing campaign. They want you to buy their $80k vehicle and drive it through the mud (thinking it won't leave you stranded). It is literally in EVERY Land Rover Commercial and print ad. Without mud, rocks, sand, and streams, Land Rover would not exist (more or less).
It's funny because I've learned that breaking stuff goes hand in hand with off roading. I would be way too scared to break something on an $80k truck. That being said the only people that are taking these offroad in the conditions it's built for are people who can throw that kind of money around. Which you know, more power to them!
I wheel my F150 Raptor pretty hard, break something and it's a good excuse to upgrade. ;) Even though I can afford it, there are times when I think, "Why don't I just buy a side by side for this?" :D
@@bigslacker666 I've been trying to look out for an old Toyota pick up/hilux to turn into a rock crawler. After nearly flipping my 4Runner I had to rethink what I was doing. This is a lot of talk coming from a 30 something year old dude who's only recently gotten into off roading. But I don't see anything wrong with dreaming big :D
Eh, I’d hedge on the idea they don’t have the money to throw around. Very likely there are substantial and lengthy loans involved. It’s an American past time to live at or above means.
I agree on the styling. Imo that's why the DR and the Bronco R looks so badass. The fender was brought out with little flares instead of the other way around. It sucks how everything is so expensive these days but the vehicles themselves are awesome.
I passed on the Raptor opportunity: It's too wide and those flares are like clown shoes. I am jealous of the towing increase and the dash display, which actually looks slick and modern unlike the already dated looking one on the regular Bronco, but I still think I made the right move. If I spent a lot of time out on wide desert trails my feelings might change, but for narrower stuff in the mountains here it just didn't make sense, especially for the not insignificant cost increase.
You made the right choice, I think the Raptor is awesome is you want to mostly off-road in the desert. For everyone else that narrower one is the best choice.
Been debating on saving for one of these for AZ desert off roading. Flares would actually come in handy with all the sand/mud. Vehicles like this are great for the terrain in my area
@@deverick4247 Yup got a 2019 Bullitt, it's a good blend of exposed and neat-ish. I think they claim "easier servicability," but at this point yes it looks sloppy. However, lot of room to work with and mainly no stupid plastic covers is a bonus.
True! BMW has some nice looking engine bays, but are disasters to work on. Wondering if Ford doesn't care what they look like or are intentionally making things easier to work on.
Ain't buying a garbage jeep which is not even half as capable rather say nothing in front of raptor , just because of fenders , thats the most lame excuse i have ever seen by a jeep fangirl
@@hotrod7603 how much is Ford paying you to suck their d**k? Seriously. Every comment from you is something praising the almighty Ford Bronco and derogatory toward Jeeps. I'll keep my 10 yo Rubicon with 130k and the ORIGINAL engine and trannie that I haven't done a damn thing to. And yes, I wheel it! You must secretly be jealous or something, the way you keep leaving comments like this.
I saw 302 on the valve cover and thought "man a 5.0, that's exactly what the people want!" I was wrong. Why not drop a V8 in the Bronco like Jeep did with the Wrangler?
Open the hood to any Japanese,Korean suv and admire the engineering that goes into getting rid of the spaghetti bowl of tubing, wiring and smog devices and ask yourself where do you add the spaghetti sauce. No every element of a vehicle has to check all boxes. I could not imagine being three hours off of pavement and have something in that hood come loose. Just saying.
I would put a full body wrap on my Bronco Raptor anyways be it Mossy Oak or a CanPat/MarPat Camouflage pattern on the entire body AND fenders! You can even get the EXTRA THICK 1/16th inch thick vinyl wrap that also adds some tree branch scraping protection. In terms of the driving range, people are reporting, the on-board computers are getting smarter and more accurate in fuel consumption figures and I have found MANY Broncos are getting around 275 to 300 miles OFF-ROAD in heavy 4x4 terrain which is to be expected. That is WHY I am putting the custom built combined bush-bar and heavy duty bumper with winch AND a swing out cage on the back for the FOUR 20 gallon Jerry Cans of fuel (80 gallons and 480 lbs total weight) which is balanced by the heavy duty custom-welded front bumper and heavy duty winch and light bar I will have. And once you take out the back seats and put in your custom 200 litre combo fridge/freezer and 3000 watt Li-Ion camping battery pack and portable solar panel setup, the weight is now full distributed and you can get 1200 miles+ of driving range on even the gnarliest and hilliest of trails. The Bronco Raptor is ideal for me but I STILL can't decide whether to get the Bronco Raptor or the F150 Raptor --- I WISH I could get BOTH but I can only get one! The F150 Raptor carries more camp gear but the Bronco's shorter wheel base gets me to the deeper parts of the North Canadian back country of where the bigger fish are since a lot of people just can't/won't go as far into the back country that I am willing to go! With the setup I envision, my camp gear, my gasoline, propane, food and water supplies I would usually carry are enough to keep me in the backcountry for THREE MONTHS at a time if I drive a few tens of km per day to each deeeeeeep back country lake/river I would be fishing at. V
hell naw there is already people saying their engines failing at 2500 miles. I literally just saw an owner of the badlands model on RU-vid stating her rig with 2500 miles on it failed as she was driving smh!!!
If i was given one for free I'd probably turn around and sell it and buy either a Wrangler or regular Bronco, soft top with some nicer features and light, road friendly AT tires. I'm not really into the whole "barely fits in a normal lane and gets MPGs that where shameful in the 2000s" scene but wouldn't mind a convertible SUV that can handle itself when needed.
It's not a truck and the Real Raptor is an amazing truck. These Broncos regardless of trim are junk. Especially with the European designed 2.7l. Fords Euro engines are absolute trash. I know because I replace and rebuild them daily.
@@Silent_Shadow 2.7 is a great engine purpose built and engineered for the f150. It’s the most reliable f150 engine and is a great platform. These are definitely not junk lol
Jeep Wranglers are more fun because you can build them the way you want after-market. Bronco factory packages are just status symbols. I still haven’t seen one on a trail. Owners don’t want scratches on their investments, I suppose.
Jeep is easy to work on, very simple builds..mods are done at home fairly quick..not a Bronco, that engine bay is a rats dream..ifs ok but it definitely isn't as solid as an axle..you just have to be very careful with ifs.
Considering that the $US is getting worth less and less every day as the price of everything goes through the roof (thanks Joe) it will be a wonder if Ford can make any money with an 80k MSRP for a loaded one. Good luck trying build one as capable yourself for under 100K
Saw one area dealer set their first Raptor at 128k we should like to take it and place the word Bronco on ones grill in RWB. colours. and a Wheel spare tyres cover befitting this beast.
If I could get it for MSRP, yeah I’d buy it. I’d probably spec it more around 75K range. I’ve already put 75,000 into my forerunner. I off road it all the time. It took me a year and a half to get all the mods done. If I could’ve purchased it right out of the factory like I currently have it I absolutely would have bought my forerunner like this
Can everyone stop whining about the price? It’s a specialty vehicle for a reason. What’s the alternative? A Wrangler Rubicon 392 costs 8k more, has less features, and is behind in every off-road factor (angles, clearance, underbody protection), even with the Xtreme Recon package that adds another 4k. If you were to load the Bronco with everything but the interior carbon fiber package, it would still cost roughly the same as a 392 with just the Xtreme Recon package. This is a one-of-a-kind off roader and one that is likely unmatchable for the time being. Hence the 70k starting price. If you can’t afford it, just buy a base Bronco and make the upgrades yourself/find someone who can. Don’t complain in a RU-vid comment section.
The trick to making money on low volume specialty models is to not change the main frame and body panels and do it all with modified trip. ergo the huge flares.
I was offerned an allocation. They wanted $25K over sticker. I politely declined. $80K is already pushing what this thing is worth. I'll wait a few years, grab one off the lot under sticker.
The flares are required to cover the tires for passing most if not all state inspections. They will most likely be removed or modified that’s why ford didn’t make it part of the body
I only watched until I heard what was under the hood. Is the Bronco Raptor worth 80k? Not without a V8 in my opinion. It's probably capable and can go a lot of places off road but I'm happy with the 5.0 in my F150 which has 37s which was a lot less being a 2014. I'm not unwilling to drive a v6 but I'm not willing to pay over 50k for a vehicle with a v6 in it.
@@robertmisiuk7137 I like driving vehicles until the wheels fall off. Turbos put more stress on the engine long term and when you tow generally you get about the same mpg. Also it's not that light at between 4300 lbs to 5300 lbs for the Bronco, my single cab with the 5.0 is around 5000. I'd still rather have a naturally aspirated v8 over a turbo v6 and I'd rather have a naturally aspirated v6 over a turbo i4 . Plus nothing beats the sound of the coyote 5.0 with long tube headers. It doesn't matter how much horsepower, boost, or exhaust mods a v6 has its not going to sound as good as a v8. 99% of the time I'm cruising at highway speeds, the extra 20-30 hp or whatever of the v6 at peak horsepower doesn't doesn't do much for me most of the time.
@@WZPXZMDQRGTHEFYOPBMLNSHOPJBOJT Just so you know I 100% agree. I was being sarcastic. Turbos are fine for light cars, but trucks should never have them unless they are diesel.
I want to see you remove and then reinstall the doors on this thing😂. I remove my doors all the time from my Rubi. You have to do the entire process on the Bronco holding the door out front of you while navigating around the mirrors.
Get the feeling my f-150 with over 300k on it will see more off-road time than 99% of these. It’s still cool and am glad it exists, but yea, it’s mainly journalists in borrowed rigs off-roading vehicles like this on test courses.
I was looking into buying a Bronco last month. Locally I could only find the bare bones models (60k) or a 85k Sasquatch model. I test drove it and yeah it’s ok, but honestly it seemed like too much money for it. It also felt like driving around in a tank, the window design blocked a lot of my viewing capabilities. This model seems more like it would be 80k but to me they are still overpriced. In my opinion they should be priced around 60k for the top models.
I don't even own Ford, but what has to be put in consideration is that you getting no compromise no platform sharing special build with removable components max packed with offroad hardware... that's why it's not 60k like some base Navigator
@@JamesThomas-dn6ee yes, i stand corrected, Wrangler maybe does not share platform but Bronco does in some degree, even Wrangler probably shares some switches and key fobs whatever, but the complexity of these types of vehicles is still most extreme with it's off road capability and removable parts
Would not pay 80k for this Ford Bronco Raptor especially when the Ford dealerships now add the market adjustment B.S. price increase and add another 20k to the M.S.R.P. Also reminisce when the standard months to finance a new vehicle was 5 years?
I had a friend by a Bronco like this I told him it's too expensive and hasn't been on the market long enough. What do you know now he's having engine trouble and roof leak.
I like all the off road beefy vehicles that have been coming out but not worth stressing about the payment. I would say this should be 60k off the lot at the most. I'm not one to pay so much for pieces of metal and plastics.
Where are the rest of your liters? I really want to like the way the outside looks... But JEEP 392 Rubicon... And the front end articulates on the Jeep... And the engines don't explode....
Something people fail to realize when they purchase it. Definitely not worth it with manual seats and those aftermarket stick on fenders. For the price that needs to be part of the design and body colored. The TRX was super expensive but it was something special, and had state-of-the-art exterior and interior. It didn't look less like a truck and more like a luxury vehicle. So it was a special environment just to sit in.
Ford sent me an email to ask if I had interest in getting on the waiting list. I replied yes. They responded with an apology for getting my hopes up. Thanks a lot Ford.
@@joshuasterling2144 The Dealers in my mind already knew that Ford was going to follow Teslas online only model and cut out dealers. So they’re making all they can while they still exist. Yup, Ford dealer markup is ridiculous. If Ford doesn't discipline the dealers (do they even care?) this will be an ongoing disappointment and force me to another brand. I remember a corporate statement addressing this issue, yet nothing has been done to remedy it other than saying EV's will be online order only. Doesn't fix the ICE price gouging...
@@crazebamm As of now the Raptor is limited production. Dealers are taking advantage of that demand and putting huge premiums over sticker. This curbs enthusiasm for the product and in the worst case can actually kill an entire product line. Pricing is carefully set for the customer who is interested vs profit necessary for the manufacturer. Because the dealer is the middle man they can screw up that balance and destroy the desire for that product. What was once a great car is no unobtainable.
It's a 55 k vehicle (like most premium vehicles) with a 40k mark up based on the insane vehicles market and we should be fighting the industry. These prices are stupid
The prices are about to start rapidly dropping as inventory is starting to surge with auto part suppliers and gas prices surging. Yes, it is over priced. The Premium trim of the Bronco is really a mid 40s to 50k vehicle. People that bought these cars in a peak market are going to start hating themselves.
@@dakotareynoldsakafloridama2723 it’s not overpriced, it’s called the free market, supply and demand my friend. I thought Americans loved capitalism… well, this is it
No, and not worth $50K in its low-end versions. This car has been having early engine failures requiring a new engine. Not what you want in a car pretending to be rugged.
The Bronco Raptor is not worth the price to me. I’m happy with my Badlands 2 door manual with high package for $47K. I received a “golden ticket” from Ford to order a Bronco Raptor, but I declined. Buying it for resale was a thought, but if the economy tanks between ordering and delivery I didn’t want to get stuck with it at $80K.
That color... Oooff so good... Also I think I am glad they did fenders that way as opposed to the body colour wider fender, that fender extension will do a great job of protecting the body coloured fender out on the trail and be much easier to replace.
Let's be honest though. 99% of the people who buy this. Won't take it off road. I take a stock Tundra in more places than these capable vehicles will go. Just like the raptors. Mall crawlers.
@@nm-qt2hb true, but most people want the V8 for the sound and predicted reliability. They believe the V8 will sound better and that it will last much longer because it doesn't have turbos.
So how long is the engine going to run before it BLOWS UP???? Ford is having major issues with the 2.7L V6 that it might be going thru a RECALL! I will STAY with my 392 V8 Wrangler Rubicon with Recon Extreme Package that has already saved FIVE BRONCOS including two Sasquatch package models out of trouble and I got to keep the Sasquatch badge for my trouble.
I think it started in normal, then went to quiet and then baja/loud. A prompt on the screen/video to distinguish would've been nice. My Ford has also active exhaust, unless it's evening (when I have automatic quiet mode disabled), that's how it be.
I can't see this getting a V8 ever. Because it's a) all assembled in the same plant with the rest of the V6 ECOBOOST line-up, and b) electrification is coming everywhere. A V6 Ford Performance POWERBOOST/Hybrid however... imagine instantaneous electric torque on the hole shot or for rock crawling???
Meanwhile...stock bronco owners are experiencing catastrophic engine faliure, among other problems after driving only 1500-2500 miles...ALOT of these new cars should be sold as "husks", so whoever buy them can put in whatever Power plant they want.
I’m 50/50 with those flares I saw the broncos iconic straight sides when you started and it all made sense. The flares look different for sure but it needs the flat sides to be a bronco I guess.
wait till you see the super bronco raptor. It has 5 foot wide wheel flares it also has flaps so you can generate some lift and increase the gas mileage to 17mpg. I digress, i’d nut all over this raptor bronco. thank goodness for the wash out interior
The flares are required for passing most if not all state inspections. They will most likely be removed or modified that’s why ford didn’t make it part of the body
Can't get worked up about any car whose combined MPG is 15mpg. Especially one that people take out of town for long adventure trips. Between the high factory sticker, the dealers raping you for more and the cost to drive, this thing is DOA for me.
Problem is, they won't be able to build them, price is irrelevant really! They all are over priced(all vehicles), so the price will go up from there! Just don't see ford building these at a rate anybody would need them too! 🤷♂️
They can't keep up with production for allocated orders of F-150 Raptors at the moment. (most people are waiting 6 months to a year for theirs...I'm three months in after I ordered mine and don't have a production date yet.) When the Raptor "R" goes into production, it will undoubtedly increase the lead time for production of the "regular" Raptors. I can see the same scenario happening with the Bronco.
