The new mag ban law in Sweden 

It hurts me to see a good functioning magazine being destroyed :(

I know how this feels, Canadian law makers are writing the same vague hokey pokey laws. It's infuriating and the public is entirely fine with it.

First they decided that all firearms must be registered, then you needed to have permit, then you needed to meet certain requirements to apply or to keep it, then they decide what type of firearms you can own, and in the end they decide that you have no rights to own anything. I remember how in my country first the permit was needed for functional firearms, then they decided you need to have a certificate for deactived firearms- allthough everyone with common sense knows that it is allmost impossible to restore firearm if it has holes or cut in the barrel- with welded shut chamber, cut down bolt face in 45 degrees with cut down firing pin and welded firing pin nest, afterwards they decide that you need to register the deactivated firearms even though they have certificates, then they come up with new deactivation specifications- so the old ones must be resertificated, or else you are in trouble- since you have registered it, and now you are in the system. Same goes for so called gas/blank firearms- first just register it/ not a big deal, then new requirements- a firearms licence to own them. I know it is a long comentary but, being law abiding citizen- following rules ends up being screwed over and over again and losing the rights.

Why is the criminal justice system in this country so consistently a cruel joke?

I thought our mag ban was shitty in Germany but at least they defined it that the magazine body is the "bad" part of the magazine. I was really glad last month that there was a time where you could register your mags and keep them and use them on competitions outside of Germany where things are still normal, they came in really handy at Lynx Brutality.

Watch out, those metal pieces are sharp and might be considered an ultra tactical WMD death knife! You better encase them in resin before throwing them away.

At least it is better than the rest of Europe. We can still buy mags, in any capacity, to the firearms we use. Funny how no one can define what a magazine is.

That sucks. Last resort, send them to the US before you decide to destroy them.

Will be interesting to see if the Police will try to stopp issuing licenses for semi autos that can take more than 10 rounds with the motivation that they are category A.

I have an old Larmmina 2 and some m39/b that have been lying in a friends storage unit for 10+ years amongst other junk, all new in box with M-numbers. Will probably be sentenced to life in prison once they find that😂

There is alot of people that thinks their happysticks for their hunting Ruger PCC will be illegal now. Guess wich forum ;) Sportec is allready asking for your licens when you buy magazines.

In Germany they fixed upon the "magazine body", whatever it may look like. It was possible to register the old magazines, in case they have been bought before a certain date and they may also be used if mechanically blocked at 10 rounds for rifles (and 20 for handguns). New licenses are sometimes granted by the Bundeskriminalamt, if you can proof that you compete internationally. 100% BS law!

Do not comply with this garbage.

I bought a bunch of non-critical parts, like magazines, legally, as reference material for my work (3D art) back in the day, and I wouldn't have had any idea about this if you hadn't told me. Obviously, this is all dumb as hell, but as I have no desire to get locked up over a piece of plastic, I have simply disposed of all of it. Just a waste, frankly. But I'm very grateful for the heads-up.

Jag har försökt få svar, på vad det innebär med kombinationen halvautomatiskt gevär + magasin,.....t.ex om man äger en Ruger PC och en Glock 17, vad händer om man tar sitt roligaste magasin från Glocken och petar in i PC'n? Blir det då en otillåten kombination/kategori med tanke på antalet patroner? 🤔

I will not comply and ill be keeping my mags. Why?! Cause their mine and im the one who has spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on them, and not one human being has been hurt by me owning them. I dont follow laws that are entirely made just to punish the people. And to SÄPO who might be reading this.. ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ!

I thought you only recently had some kind of development allowing more broad selection of weapons with a certain license? (I think it was a hunting license, now allowing ARs etc. to be bought with it?) Why is your government going one way and then the other with liberalisation of firearms ownership?
