For something that took so long to implement, I expected more on the map. For starters, this is not a Full Size map. Could had been larger. Loco icons should point in the direction of the loco. Industry icons are cheesy and simple rectangles would had been better (especially because I can't see where to spot my loads), and the key takes up 1/3rd of the map (would had been nice to minimize the legend). And the car icons on the map are coal/iron, but the icon on the "Vehicles" subsection is a passenger car. Icons are so easy to make and I'm surprised they couldn't had done that better. Just looks like a junior developer/US developed this as their high school programming challenge. What happened to the UX designer that took care of the UI? They should had that person help with the map designs. Spline update is solid. Parallel tracks is awesome and so is the freemode to follow the terrain.
The duplicate feature is cool. The big map needs to be rotated so north is on top. Something that the developers should be able to do fairly easily. Glad the brakes are fixed and working normally again. Like the ability to remotely switch tracks on the map. But I don't think the mini map gives you the ability to switch tracks. The map color is okay. If they did a pure white, I think it might be too bright on the eyes which is maybe why they did the cream color.
Loving this update! Already derailed a few times, haha, defenetly gotten used to the hard brakes. Agree with the map, hopefully the colors will be changed in the future!
most of the update was kinda meh, then you showed the industry linking 😲🤯 will save so much time laying and deleting tracks trying to get industries setup
This is the same exact crap I see all the time an update for something comes out and all people do is complain about it and it hasn't even hit the main branch yet they put it in beta so people can give them problems that they're seeing so they can fix it I get that. But the people in this comment section are acting like this is the main branch update its in beta for a reason so you idiots can check it out so that they can figure out what's wrong with it so they can fix it before they put it in the main branch. So please before you call someone else an idiot think about what you're saying about someone else and just turn it around and point it toward yourself because obviously you haven't realized it's in beta branch and not the main branch.
complaining is never nice. the reason why people are so upset is because for years the devs did weird choices and questionable updates and only now we are getting very basic game functions that a building game needs. and even these functions are still a buggy mess that are just bandaged together. the new spline system is nice but why can't i rotate the end point in free hand? why is the grading bugging out? why is the shown gradient not correct? if i make a 100 meter free hand line it is likely to show 0% but has a 3% up and 2% down gradient in the middle? hiding buggy updates in beta branches may work for a few people but with such a small player base that remained it is quite important to not leave them disappointed with each update. they said that they are working on the menues next. i really hope that they overhaul everyhting and not just use bandages to retexture the current menu system. there are so many QoL bugs currently that it makes me leave the game after a few minutes of fighting with it.
