We get hands on with the Panasonic FZ2000, a compact 1"-sensor camera with 4K DCI, 4:2:2 internal, ND filters and a super zoom lens. Read the full article here: www.cinema5d.com/panasonic-fz...
The output of the FZ1000 was absolutely gorgeous. I hope it's the same with this version. Built in ND, awesome!! 5 axis -- essential. Especially if it's as strong as in Olympus cams. I hope they're approaching Canon like dual pixel autofocus. That'd make it perfect. Full sensor read would be marvelous in a firmware upgrade, as well. But otherwise... very cool. I think I'll definitely pick this one to carry around with me. A wonderful found footage capturing device. With a good mic, great for documentary type interviews where you don't expect to find anyone to interview. How often does that happen in life where you wish you had a high quality cam available due to an unexpected opportunity? A lot. And if it's like the FZ1000 at all, it could definitely be used as an A cam in capable hands.
I wish they did full sensor downsampling for the 4k video. The 36mm (35mm camera equivalent) focal length makes this hard to use in small spaces, or for self portraits. All the other stuff sounds great!
i need advice pls im mainly going to be shooting videos so which camera would you recommend between the g85 or the FZ2000 ?please advise that would be greatly appreciated thanks
one problem with the fz 2000 i have, you can not give the photo in the camera a photo number that you can see in windows explorer. just a title you can give and view this in panasonic photofunstudio..verry disapointing
Hahaha, the sensor is cropped again while shooting 4K, that's ridiculous in a camera for $1200. You pay for a 1" sensor and get almost half of it... It means I still have to wait for Nikon DL24-500.
I kinda feel the same way, tho i have been waiting a while for this camera to come be announced. But i'm gonna wait to I can compare them against each other before buying anything.
I've been looking for a bridge camera to shoot 4K for a few months now. FZ1000 seemed to be a great option, but it had 2 serious disadvantages. 1st was the sensor cropping in 4K and the 2nd quite serious jelly effect on a bigger zoom. So now we already know that the first minus is still in FZ2000 and for me that eliminates a bridge camera that costs $1200... Sony RX10 III is definately too expensive for a bridge camera. So I have to wait for Nikon DL24-500, but I doubt it will be released this year. This camera is my last chance, if it has any serious issues, I will have to go for some mirrorless, probaby G80 will be the best option.
They did not get the new sony sensor... (stacked one) so the video will be the same as in the FZ1000, the new things are the minor body adjustments, ND filter, V-Log as an extra payed option and that's it. I was expecting this one to use the new sony sensor with the good slow motion and now... it is pointless to buy the panasonic instead of the sony or at least that is my point of view.
Hi!I am a physio in Norway and looking for a camera:I will use it to make slow motion running-analysis( indoor).Should I choose Sony and in case; which Sony camera?
Simeon Kolev your forgetting 10bit c4k blue g touch screen no time limit.with recording Sony is a great camera we all know this but they both have there strengths and weakness Sony great auto focus stabilization etc. but let's not forget the overheating time limit in recording. Etc. it's preference at the end of the day and what your using the camera for.
Why are they making so many point & shoot cameras that are so expensive when many are now using a cells & tablets? This camera, like the overpriced Sony DSC-RX10 II, has a tiny sensor to m4/3 and micro size compared to affordable cameras like Sony SLT-A99 II and Canon EOS-5D Mark IV.
angelisone this does not have a 4/3 sensor. 1"sensor it does. cell phones are alright with pictures but this does so much more. 4k pictures and videos. when taking video you can zoom in and out without any choppiness.
I am aware that this camera does not have the m4/3 sensor, it has a really small sensor that many think it 25.4mm (One Inch). 8.8mm X 13.2mm = Nowhere close to 25.4mm. Do the math, it's just to fool beginners and amateurs into buy a expensive point and shoot camera.
So if you know how to take pictures it really shouldn't matter what size the sensor is or what camera is used. If someone wants it then they will still get it. I will still buy this camera. Why? It's only as good as the person using it. Had the fz-50 for a few years and was happy with it. Been looking for a replacement for my fuji and here it is.
I use the ATG Hasselblad H5D-200cr. And now waiting for ATG Fuji GFX 50Sr. These are modified from the basic models. You must be new into photography to say that the sensor size doesn't matter. Ever used a Hasselblad 500 series and compare it with a say Canon F1 or Nikon F3?
If you need a over priced camera in order to take good pictures then by all means go for it. It's just a tool. I really believe it is what we see and want to capture that matters and i don't need a very expensive camera to do that. Oh and by the way no i am no where near new to photography.
What he doesn't explain if the touch screen is for manual focus tapping object on the screen or just to navigate around the menu, which some other Panasonic camera are just that, totally pathetic, and the V-log is gonna be for sale just like n the GH4 when you get that for “free” in Sony cameras. Just will need to know if the zoom motor is noisy as hell as the FZ1000.
the fz1000 is an amazing camera, no complaints about mine, and if you're that serious about sound, then you would be using an external mic, most likely at least 3 feet or more from the camera. my fz1000 doesnt make much noise while zooming, and I often find myself never zooming during video, as it typicall looks bad on any camera ever as a type of camera movement
Taft Films There you go, as a video producer I zoom very, very slowly but the FZ1000 have a lot of complain on this issue, mostly of course from Amateurs or Semi-PRO videographers, which in any case this camera is aimed to.
