It's only fitting that the music used on this show was taken from the U.S.A. Price is Right.....a lot of the music was performed and recorded in London in the same studio the Beatles recorded much of their music!
I can't get over how cheap the prizes are. Here in America the prizes are cars, motorhomes, elaborate furniture, high cost trips far away lands for 6 nights 7 days.
It's because of limits of not being allowed to give away over £6000 per contestant per show. Those limits were removed in 1993, eventually leading to Who Wants to be a Millionaire 5 years later. The later episodes hosted by Bruce Forsyth give away the kind of prizes you'd expect from the American version.
In the American version of "Ten Chances" on "TPIR", the buttons go from 1-10; two prizes and a car are usually played for. When a contestant plays for the car, all five numbers are used in guessing the price. In the Showcase Showdown round, the big wheel doesn't have cents, but whole numerals between 5-100 instead.
Also before the US version changed the design of Danger Price with the huge octagon containing four smaller octagons within, surrounded by the four prizes.
not bad for an uk version don't mind it i'm from Australia it's good to see a forign price is right wether its from usa or my home Country of Australia it's good to see what happens with everyones favourite Gameshow ty
TheBundychick82 I've seen a couple of episodes of the Australian show, and it's not too bad. Actually, Larry Emdur once made an appearance on the American show with its current host, Drew Carey. He called a contestant to come on down, he described an item up for bids, and even hosted one of the pricing games. In his case, it was Cliffhangers.
i think this is just one of the least favorite UK versions for me, but still better than the Joe Palasque's and Alan Carr's versions. The best UK versions to me are Leslie Crowther's and Bruce Forsyth's versions.
"Ten Chances" done wrong. They should've known that the "0 Rule" is key here. (After the State's debut, the rule was adopted, where all prizes ended in 0. There were rare moments it wasn't followed.) Used a showcase cue for an IUFB. Odd.
Simply put, this was the UK version which is different in parts to the US version. It wasn't meant to be a carbon copy of the US version which makes it unique.
Wait A Minute. They Have Done The Pricing Game of 10 Chances Backwards From 10 To 1. In The American Edition of The New Price Is Right, The Numbers Goes From 1 To 10.
It's so bad when the music for the US price is right came on it's as if it was made by a fan. Then, at 1:26 there is a lame imitation of the showcase doors Bob Barker walks though. And I bet the host only got picked because his name was Bob!. Blatent Plagiarism Sky, and not a good one either. Still interesting to watch though. Thanks foe sharing.
There’s nothing plagiarised about TPIR. They credited Mark Goodson Productions and no doubt paid for use of the format. And it’s pure coincidence that Bob Warman shares the same first name as Bob Barker. Mr Warman just so happened to work for Central Independent Television (who actually produced the show despite it being a Talbot Telegame) as the main anchor for Central News (West), which was also based at Central House, Birmingham. I personally think he did a great job as host. In fact he literally just retired after 49 years at ATV, then Central.
Not their fault, the IBA at the time didn't allow for the same level of prizes that the US could have, that was rectified in 1993 after a law was implemented to drop the prize limits. It actually led to something of a renaissance of UK game shows with old titles coming back and some hitherto impossible US-based imports finally possible.
The United Kingdom are copycats stealing the American version of "The Price Is Right" trying to make it their own version. Where is the originality of this UK version?
What a stupid statement. You do realise that different countries have their own versions of the same shows. The UK could make the same claim with programmes like Millionaire, The Weakest Link or The Chase
