Great walk through, as an additional comment on the internet speed, the recommended to go cloud native is 50 mbps both up and down, most internet providers should be able to offer that.
@@InstituteofDigitalDentistry - Yes, but if you have 50 mbps or more, the edge device is then becoming your bottleneck, so only add that if you really have less than 50 mbps
No, DS core is a totally open system. And this is built directly into DS Core. You can export PLY from a DS Scanner easily for example using DS core and import any files from any scanner.
@@NONcomD to be fair, subscriptions are part of any scanner that offers cloud integration. Using the cloud will never be free. Makes no business sense. But to have the cloud as a mandatory feature is a bold move.
A paid subscription to have a cloud storage, that is never free - not even at Apple.. And you save money on local hardware installed, no more software updates etc..
To be fair even local hardware still gets software updates but thankfully most companies provide those for free. In the cloud there are no updates or software to manage you just log in on your browser so for those that don't like managing tech it does simplify things at a price
