I love it now,it looks just like my savage ba stealth 10 in 6.5 creedmoor.and I do dearly love it except i have mine in left-handed,so does savage the one you are shooting in this video in left-handed bolt-action.i only have 1 eye because of a accident I had years ago and took out my right eye I ware a patch on my right eye but I'm really right handed but have to shoot left-handed,except for my pistols then I hold them with my right hand but look out of my left eye.id love to have that 22 rifle you have if I can get it in left handed.someone told me that savage was making a 22lr in semi-auto made like that for long range rifle shooting with a big round thick barrel to now and it looks like the one you got in this but it semi-auto ok!!!!!

The vast majority of even hardcore .22LR shooters in my 30+ years experience could care less for anything past 100 Yards and definitely don’t shoot 250-300yards with .22LR! The O moa rail makes perfect sense for this rifle. Your an absolutely awesome exception dude. Savage confines to make the most accurate rifles out of the box @ the price point and evolve with better accutriggers(1.5#’s stock is superb), threaded barrels etc. I’m going to buy one of these asap with Burris glass to train my daughter. .22LR FTW 100%

Really nice to see how the Savage .22 has evolved. I have a Model 4C that is 78 years old. I'm the 3rd generation shooting with this rifle. I'm teaching my 6 years old daughter to shoot with it. It has the original trigger that I modified to have a softer action and a 4x32 scope on it. I use it weekly for shooting birds, rabbits, mongoose, ground squirrels, vermin monkeys and the odd jackal. Shoot with CCI Stinger rounds. Scope is zero'd at 70m and longest kill is a jackal at 128m. Just love this rifle!

Truly appreciate you shooting it from a quality rest. It takes some degree of human element out of the equation & really helps focus on the capability of the firearm itself. Excellent shooting !
@Judge_Dredd
@Judge_Dredd Год назад
The whole point of target shooting is that the shooter masters the human element in the equation, the capability of the firearm shouldn't be the issue, a rest is just that, it's not supposed to make it easier or more accurate, it's just a flat support, the sideways, and fore and aft, and fulcrum movement of the rifle should be part of the shooter's control of the weapon, the butt should be in the shooter's shoulder and only supported by the shoulder, not sitting on a surface or supported by a rest. That ridiculous 'Lead Sled' makes everyone think they are a good shot, when all it does is remove the skillset of the shooter, you might as well clamp the rifle to a concrete base and attach a string to the trigger and remotely operate it from 20ft away, that is basically all you're doing there, it's not you shooting the rifle, it's the rifle shooting itself. When you can shoot a 60 year old 15lb .22lr Target Rifle at 50 metres (54 yards), sub-sonic, supported entirely in your shoulder, with just a completely flat support under the stock (no bipod), in a group like that, then it's an achievement, but using a 'Lead Sled'? Nah, that's just BS.
@tommykawasaki9676
@tommykawasaki9676 Год назад
@@Judge_Dredd there is total truth in what you say. BUT I can work on my own personal skillset after the rifle & ammo are proven. But I sure as hell, am not going to start with a rifle, that shoots inherently poorly. The point of a sled, is to prove out the rifle & the ammo. Once that is conclusive, then you begin to practice on the human element. I want to know how the rifle shoots. NOT how the individual shoots. Everyone shoots a sub half inch group at 100 yards. Just ask em.

I messed around with 22LR at 350 yards once. The target was at the base of a dead pine tree and used the branches as holdover points. I forget now but the holdover was a good 15-20 feet above the target. 15” group after getting dialed. Moved it out to 450 yards and never found the target once. 900 is difficult to imagine and allot of luck, in my utterly meaningless opinion. Cheers.

@@flighttherapybullisticfpv133 I'm going to look for that video. It's as if that 900m(sure its not 900 yards?) shooting with a 22, reminds me of those tricks shots with a basketball out of a helicopter to a net really far away. I not sure there isn't some principles of magic or good video trickery at work somewhere. I will give it a look. Edit: Well I did take a look. I watched different segments just to get the jist of things. It was not magic in the magic or trickery sense, but it was amazing shooting. One session of shooting was 911 yards(not meters). Constantly having to make adjustments. From what I saw it was interesting, couple different rifles, different ammo 22lr & 22mag. I agree it was nuts! Thanks

That design on the butt stock is called a "Hand Hook." Use your non dominant hand to press the rifle into your shoulder. Also, load your bipod. Loading the bipod is slightly pushing your body forward so the bipod flexes. Putting pressure on the rifle so everything is firmly positioned to your body. Watch Mile High Shooting Center videos. Frank is the host and will explain the concept further.

Got a MK II a few days ago... very happy with it, though the barrel is just kissing the stock on the far end left side so I got to see what that's about. Whole reason I bought it was the threaded barrel. 17" barrel plus suppressor with CCI standard velocity is a riot lol. Sooo quiet, I'd swear it's quieter than several .22 air rifles. (Unmoderated)

I was going to pull the trigger and buy the Savage B22 until I found out the biggest hole in this platform. Its the magazines. The are none available even a Savage. And the Canadians banned all guns. Savage has an USA plant and Buttler Creek probably makes the Savage Mags. The have a banana magazine but no availability. Been watching for several months. No mags! I've yet to see anyone review this rifle at 200-300+ yards like I need for PRS. One reviewer explained a bolt scrape problem where the bolt was slightly damaging the bullet in the top of the mag as the bolt loaded one in the chamber, and was saying no way you could be accurate at long distances with damaged bullets. If it didn't do that I'd say this was a helluva steal for a competition 22 in a decent chassis.

I've been looking at something I could throw a scope on and I'm a bit partial to Savage because of owning grandpa's old Stevens guns. Just old farm guns kept by the kitchen door... for varmints! It was accurate before, but it is now a tack driver with one ragged hole at 100 yards very common.....MOA or less at 200 yards. The stability offered by the MDT stock system is even superior to glass bedding the factory stock. I did that and bedding did help. The MDT made it almost perfect...more comfortable than the factory stock as it is multi adjustable to fit just about anyone. Way to go Savage !!! teaming up with MDT....excellent idea.

My mark 2 loves cci standard velocity. Keep the barrels CLEAN. After 4 or 5 fouling shots, it will group tightly at 50 yards. Not hard to group within an inch circle. Standard velocity ammo is cheap($7)and shoots as well as the green tag. I highly recommend cleaning the barrel and try different ammos. Every rifle has its favorite ammo even within the same brand and model. Also, as the barrel warms up, POI will spread. I usually take 2 or 3 rifles to let one cool when I notice the change in POI.

Don't understand why you would possibly need a 20 MOA rail. It's a 22 not a 308 or 6.5 Creedmoor. It's not made to reach out that far anyway
@leftyeh6495
@leftyeh6495 4 года назад
I run a 30 moa. Took me 25 mills to hit 500 yards. It's just fun that you can count the seconds until impact. Good challenge since it saves me a 30 minute drive to a 2000 yard range to shoot 600 yards 10 minutes from my house. Lots cheaper at $10/50 rather than $50/50 to keep in practice for the big guns.

I bought a wmr version from Bud’s. About $480. My Mark 2 with standard velocity will group just as well. However, at 100 yds, WMR does much better. I will be trying several different ammos to see what works the best. It’s still cold here, so when it warms up, I will be out there more.

It's my first 17hmr so I'm crazy excited, I've been stocking up on 17hmr ammo for 2 years while I was being really picky about a rifle then this was introduced and it's just perfect. I might have some parts cerokoted a bronze/copper mix but I cant wait to play with the trigger. The accutrigger has always been trash on savage rimfires but I've only heard good things about this orange blade accutrigger.

@@22plinkster FWIW, the problem you are referring to with air guns is with spring piston airguns only, and it only applies to old scopes made before all of the scope manufacturers got wise to the issue with the problem of the brutal whiplash double recoil from spring piston airguns. I don't know of any scopes being made today lacking the essential double bracing of the lenses that allows a scope to be used on a spring piston airgun. I would bet the price of the Arken scope that it would stand up just fine to the severe double recoil from even a Gamo Hunter Extreme.

I worked for Savage making their rimfire rifles in Lakefield for over a year and a half and I can safely say their B22 is the best 22 they make. The 93 series is alright but the B and A series have much better construction and its deadly accurate when it is made right. Depends on who swung the gun together, might get a sloppy bolt every now and then but I always made sure the bolt was slightly over tight just so then when it wears in you get the best fit possible.
