18:20 The "second difference" is because all other games in the series use "nintendo seconds", where each tick is a bit faster than one second, but in Luigi U, the seconds are actual real seconds
Creator of the iceberg here and I think you did a good job on the video. Sorry some things were so cryptic. This iceberg was one of my first. Good video though
@@amazingandrew4328 It was a popular rumour about New Super Mario Bros. DS that claimed that a creature called "Scripulous Fingore" had been found in the codes. It was proven to be fake (I think) but it exploded on the internet and the creature started to be redesigned on many other games.
I'm not sure if the NSMB2 Gold Edition was ever sold separately, but I do remember the release of a 2DS box set that included NSMB2 pre-installed with all coin pack DLCs included as well. I suppose this is that Gold Edition.
I have gold edition and on my and I have the model that it came with and when I try to look at it any shop at like says game has not been released yet even though I Can download it anytime I want I thought it had a world zero with tons of coin of coin world based on the kind of egg the final level of newer Super Mario Bros Wii Summer Sun
12:20 In the original Nsmb ds game after completing the adventure, a blue toad house would appear in World 1 where you can use star coins to buy background templates for the in game bottom screen. 18:42 This question was even joked about in Mario and Luigi Paper Jam as he would take literally 0 damage from literally anything you throw at him. 19:20 apparently, Nsmb2 DLC (2-3 packs) were free for only a week as nintendo sent 3ds users a notification letter that they recieved at least 10 billion coins worldwide and as a result they gave out free dlc as a celebration. (i remember when i recieved the spotpass notification despite not owning NSMB2 at the time.) Great video btw! i really enjoyed it!
12:29 I remember this, at Peach’s castle you could use star coins to buy different themes/appearances for the bottom screen layout. I think that’s what this is taking about. I played this game endlessly as a kid
20:25 I believe this refers to an editing thing for the nsmb games (and all games in general). "Event Switch" could just be another term for a event trigger.
17:38 there’s a video of someone playing NSMBW with Charles Martinet and he says the game is “one of the best games ever made” and the other guy just looks at him like he’s crazy
10:05 I have seen an example of the Double Mario Glitch before in the Romhack of Newer Super Mario Brothers Wii where if you wait on the title screen it will show a demo recording of Two Marios and Yellow and Blue Toad.
19:49 i remember getting that the second time i saw the intro again! And then after that, it happened again and i always thought it was common. W o w .
The buyable templates refers to a blue toad house that appears in world 1 of new super Mario Bros after beating the game and you can go in it to purchase different designs for the bottom screen with star coins
I actually enjoyed this! I’ve never seen a NSMB iceberg, and since I love the series this was really cool to watch! I hope you can make more iceberg videos in the future!
Hey if u didnt know i am actually creating and editing this iceberg and have been since November (im still working on it) ive actually gotten a lot of help from amazing Andrew but u did a really good job on it :)
About NSMBW being Martinet’s favorite game, I sent him fan emails through his website when I was a kid and I asked him about it. He said it was his favorite because he liked the end credits scene with everybody jumping around. I couldn’t find the email now because it was a long time ago (yes, yes, “how convenient” I know), but I feel like that’s what he said. If the website’s still around and if it’s anything like it was, he’s pretty quick to respond!
I remember the only time I ever got the "Luigi tripping" intro. My family was doing a thing at the time where everyone would come together to try participating in a hobby/interest of one of the family members, and it was my night. I chose to have us play NSMBU, even though none of them really played video games(they were unsurprisingly trash, but I appreciated their attempt to connect with me nonetheless). Earlier in the day, I had watched a video about easter eggs in the NSMB series that had mentioned the unique animation. Well, when I started up the game for my family that night, I just so happened to get that intro! I _absolutely_ popped off, and obviously everyone else was SUPER confused as to why I was so excited; even more so after I explained it to them. It was a great experience that I'll probably never forget.
The NSMB Bottom Screen Template talks about how there is a toad house at world 1 (idk how to unlock it) that will let you change the bottom screen pattern (aka the spot that displays your star coins, your progress, your extra power up, and your lifes)
okay so the nsmb templates were like different wallpapers for your map + item storage screen that you could buy with star coins. cant believe i still remember this hahja
Fact: nabbit is the first character from the nsmb series that is not a pallet swap to appear in the mario kart series. The game in fact was mario kart tour
The Pepper probably would’ve been like the Dash Pepper in Super Mario Galaxy 2 in which it makes Yoshi run fast, including walls like in Hightail Falls Galaxy.
Oh I remember when I was little I had a 3DS that had a Super Mario Bros 2 Gold Edition built into it. The 3DS was also red and had golden line Art of Mario on the back of the top and Luigi on the back of the bottom Also the thing abt bowser not being the original is maybe referring to him having a different name from the very beginning of the Mario franchise, he used to be called King Koopa (hence the name of the Koopa Troopas) but my friend told me that it changed possibly due to the fact of poor translation through different languages
One iceberg worth fact: In Mario Maker it is possible to choose the setting of Mario U, but for some reason there is propeller mushroom (wich originates from the wii version) and not acorn mushroom. Possible theory is that they haven't been able to replicate the playability (since it uses a different engine).
When I was a little kid, I didn't even know the Obake stand was a pillar. I always thought it was a chess piece. I also just looked it up. Apparently, an Obake is from Japanese folklore, and refers either to a shapeshifting creature or someone's spirit. Which would imply that the Obake stand is (More likely) haunted, or is an entirely different monster willingly taking the form of the stand.
08:09 it's also happened in Super Mario 3D land and New Super Mario Bros 2 when you got triple crown life (and I don't know for New Super Mario Bros U and Luigi U)
Another thing I will point out is that Nabbit's redemption arc was amazing! The Super Crown was a mistake. All it did was CAUSE BOWSETTE! ANGRY BIRDS OPEN UP!!
19:03 or it could be the fact that in New Super Mario Bros U if you chased Nabbit he's invisible and they probably keep that in New Super Luigi U because in that game he stall power up like in NSMBU
As someone with a bunch knowledge of both the nsmb series my theory’s on the event switch is that it could mean the switch like in smw or the sm64ds ? Switch that was left over since ds mario games reuse some assets from sm64ds.
18:08 this entry referenced to a theory who stated that Nabbit was Bowser Jr all along but personally I don't believe in it because 1 Nabbit do appear along side with Bowser Jr in most of the game 2 why Bowser Jr would help Mario and Luigi in New Super Luigi U and Mario&Luigi Paper Jam ?
I remember playing the vs mode onn new super mario bros it was a lot of fun tho instead of getting stars we just wanted to continously murder each other
19:59 it’s not rare..? It’s just what happens when you wait on the title screen, then watch all the gameplay clips, and then after them it takes you back to the title and this is what plays.
12:22 oh no, he never beat New Super Mario Bros DS 🤣 Jk, this refers to the bottom screen templates you can buy with starcoins in the blue toad house that gets unlocked after beating the game
Too many flubbed words. Also, the music used in transitions was way too loud. Get better takes of your VAs and adjust audio levels better. Disliked & logged into youtube on my TV to dislike
@@NCS07 after watching the video again and some time passing, I actually apologize for my comment. I came home from a rough day at work and unfortunately took it out on your iceberg video. I actually really enjoyed the deeper layers of the iceberg (chicken suit mario, i.e.) and think you did a good job on the research. I ended up changing my dislike to a like, however I'm keeping the dislike from my TV because I think you do have room for improvement with your audio levels during transitions.
This is presented in the tone of someone who identifies as a "gamer" and thinks that means he's smarter than everyone and knows more about them about everything. Not a good look, George.
