Love the video, keep it up! l detailed analysis, clear explaination, and awesome vidoe production, 26 minutes is not enough :) look forward to the podcasts with the pros
Thanks guys, I'm definitely going with the ultra for my awesome new Jamie Lynn deck. I'm a powder snob so I like a little cushion when it's not powder.
I totally agree that if you are riding a stiffer board with fairly stiff boots the new Force seems to be a very good choice. I have some Atlas and Force pairs and tend to prefer the Force. If you like to pop a few tricks here and there the Force is a better choice than the Atlas. More overall lateral give and softer, more compact highbacks. The Atlas are great for pure freeride, carving and pow but personally when I want to hit a few jumps here and there on resort runs I go with the Force.
How does the new Force compare to the Bent Metal Transfer? Mini disk VS regular disk, dampness, response? I'm looking for a binding for the Banked Country/Gnu Hyper. Love these videos you are making! I learn alot from these breakdowns about tech! Cheers!!
Hi guys. Loved the video! Thinking of pairing either a union force or ultra with a mountain twin jones board.. what do you guys think? force vs ultra :S
Honestly don't care if the forward lean is quickly adjustable, I don't mind using a screwdriver for it as I pretty much set it to the forward lean I like, and then leave it for the rest of eternity. I've been enjoying my neon yellow strata's from a few years back, the've been the best bindings I've ever owned, easy/quick to get into, good responsiveness and dampening compared to my previous bindings, and will likely stick with a pair of Unions when I need a replacement.
Been using a custom with EST vitas, grabbed a BSOD + Indoor and a set of Forces and Atlas pros. Do I use the EST screws or the Camber disk screws when using the Unions on the burton custom channel?
What would you reccomend for a "Yes Dicey 2020-2021" New Force, Ultra or Strata. I am mainly riding on groomed slopes. My level is beginner-intermediate.
Just got the Forces to pair with my NS proto synthesis and heading to Breck on friday. They're getting a few inches between now and then so it should be pretty epic conditions. Can't wait to try the combo coming from an Rossi One LF with Cuda's which were pretty meh and super heavy.
If you would recommend a Union Bindinh to someone coming from a Burton Step On, what would be it? I like the responsiveness of the Step On and I'm an all mountain freeride guy.
Hey guys, loved the review Stuck between ultra's and new force's, to match a GNU Riders Choice C2, for all mountain/a bit of freestyle, mainly jumps, carving, general resort riding what do you think? do you have any boots recommendations? thanks for your time.
Shane says Ultra! , Fawcett says Force!! haha , both are honestly great. As for boots , we have been big Fans of the Vans INfuse , 32 TM2 , and Burton Photons ..... thanks for watching !
Looking for a binding to suit my Yes Standard Uninc. This Union Force '24 keeps coming up. (I have Flow Fuse Hybrids now). Would this binding be a good fit or are other bindings better suited or maybe go with a Union Force Classic?
We Feel the upgrades on the New Force are totally worth the extra cost - go there if you can afford it! If money is of issue, the Classic is a great choice!
Great review but still torn. Would you recommend the new Force or Atlas to pair with a YES. Standard? I need to replace my current Strata’s due to minidisc not being compatible with the slamback inserts.
Check out the Ankle straps on the two choices - that's where we see people making the decision .... both are great - Atlas for the real responsive feel!
Ok wonder what your guys take is on which is closest to Burton malavitas? Have a GNU RC and GNU hyper with Burton malavitas and love the comfort and heel hold but feel I’m stuck between mounting positions one being a touch narrow and get kicked around in slush snow and get a touch of lower back ache and the next position is good and stable on board but just a bit bow legged and loss of mobility. So seeking something with similar comfort but more width adjustment. I’m told the strata is the malavita of union with even more response (especially toe side) which sounds good to me but curious your thoughts on best match up to those boards. Looking at strata or new force although the full disc has me questioning vs Burton re flex, maybe the falcor too since same rated stiffness as force but mini disc however all reviews seem to make it sound much stiffer and aggressive than rated and also looking at bent metal transfer or other recommendations. Not a park rider and like all day cruising through the trees in pow. Thoughts?
@@GEB-yy3ud well the malavitas have autocant so I guess theoretically they use canting as you go wider. I bought the strata’s and bent metal transfers and I’m just going to test both this season to see what I prefer. Maybe even discover I’m ok with the wider stance of the malavitas but I think I’m going to like the touch narrower that the strata and transfers allow.
I am huge malavita fan. I here that burton will be discontinue next year. What have you found as a malavita replacement? I might buy a spare malavita for the reserves.
@@maness2112 I tried the strata’s for two and a half trips (one half trip was back to back vs BM transfers and fatigue with the strata was noticeable right away) and have no clue what people are talking about being cushioned and damp. The pad may look big and cushy but the frame crosses the heel internally and it has zero padding there just a strip of rubber over plastic essentially so every heel dig to scrub speed over chopping goes straight to the knees. The malavitas with the EVA and gel pad work way better and knees weren’t nearly as fatigued at the end of the day IMO. Switched to the BM transfers and so far I’m really liking them. It’s weird some say they’re soft others say they’re stiff and responsive. I’d say the highback and frame feel flexy by hand without the drive plate in and the drive plate itself feels flexy but then when ridden it’s still a responsive binding, seems to have good cushion but I have not compared back to back vs malavitas but I will say the toe strap is probably my favorite of all so far, just seems to mold to the boot and grip well. The ankle strap is also very comfortable I’d say equal with the malavitas ankle. I think I’m going to stay on the BM but two others I’d wish I’d tried are the union ultra or rome katana. The ultra with the frame cutouts in the heel area and toe look much more similar to a Burton binding to me and a better malavita match than the strata.
Mark, I have a pair/set(?) of old Atlas from 5+ years ago that I had to phase out because it was such a jarring ride on harder snow. You mention in the video that the new Atlas/Atlas Pro are really damp. Is that a new thing for this year or am I just remembering the ride really poorly?
Now select pro. I have the board and all of them. Atlas has no cushion and force lacks response. Select pro is more comfy than force and with more reponse than atlas.
I’ve been riding the older Cartels (now the cartel X) for the last 10 years. Just picked up a Libtech Rig. How would these pair with that board or should I just stick with the binding I know? Love the videos!
im the same way. an adjustable highback would make these a no brainer for me. Im wondering if i can just drill some holes in the highback and make one myself
Hey Guys, Just ordered a 2025 mega death and need binding recommendations for someone who loves to go hard but also rides with the family. I weigh about 97kg, considering the force but have also been recommended the Atlas. Can you help?
I'm having a hard time making up my mind between the 2024 Union force or the 2024 Union. Please help this is my second season I consider myself in between beginner and intermediate I'm a guy who likes to do freestyle but also bomb the mountain. I will be using It on a 2024 Nitro prime view board which is like a medium flex. Thanks in advance who gives the time to respond to me
When it comes to snow gear/equipment, the women always get better colors, better graphics, and overall cooler stuff than the men. To the point it bothers me. Seriously, what is up with that?
