I miss it when basic figures were $9.99. I understand cause inflation and it the 30th anniversary but it should be at least $11.99

Right. At $16.99, this isn't too far off from the cost of premium figures a few years back.

Ha, in the UK the cost of these figures is £18.99 each (around 24 US dollars)

That’s the thing about inflation during a recession; prices goes up and when economy stabilizes and prices should go back to normal, company will not go back to their original price since they know people will pay for the increased prices.

I have been wanting to get this for my kiddo. The weapons are all white because that's how they came back in the 90s. I have the Super7 Ultimates green & yellow and they remind me more of the vintage figures than these do, but I do like the look of these ones. The VHS is kinda cute, with the ranger doodle on the tape label.

Bought the Green Ranger absolutely felt cheap but was NOT cheap far as the price! If you're a true fan PLEASE buy the originals from the 90s or the Lightning Collection figures, those are more worth it especially for that nostalgic feel.

For me, my definitive set has been the SH Figuarts MMPR figures released in 2013. The SH Figuarts figures have great detail, articulation and come with all of their accessories. Unlike the Lightning Collection, only Jason and Tommy had their heads included. The LC MMPR figures have been fine, but they're not without their problems. Hasbro's quality hasn't been as good as Bandai's and when I say that, I'm also thinking of the Legacy MMPR figures they released a couple of years before Hasbro took over.

I’ll be honest, for me I’d collect them for the box. The box is what I really like. I guess a trip to Walmart is in the future.

If you use a hair dryer you can get the head off but the socket is too big for the lightning collection version so you would have to use some blue tack or something.

I was wondering if the helmets could be swapped. I kind of want to get the green and blue of these for new helmets rather than the overpriced "remasters"

Very interesting how for the t rex power coin they used the BOA design instead of the zyuranger one. The BOA trex coin doesn’t have the tail.

I got these on sale and I'm satisfied with them. I couldn't get the LC for MMPR except for Red and since Blue, Pink, and Green are coming I'll get them too since I've never owned a full MMPR team.

I hope they go back to doing retro megazords. They were nice base figures and look great when painted. They were decent weekend projects. But if they don't continue, I'm glad to have the ones I got.

These can't be considered retro figures for the power rangers because the original line that came out were bigger than the typical 6 inch figure you see in stores currently

I got the figures during Hasbro Pulse's Warehouse sale. For $17, they are overpriced, but if you can get them on sale, they're pretty cool. I actually prefer them to the Lightning Collection figures since these don't interrupt the side diamonds for the male Rangers, and they don't cost an arm and a leg like FigZero. Also, I paint my weapons anyway, so painting the weapons wasn't a big deal for me, though getting Red's sword hilt fully painted was annoying. My only real qualm is the lack of wrist articulation.

For basic they're actually nice and I did buy the flame toys model kits horrible, Cheap plastic that's so ridged that I broke two rangers just putting them together.

I collected black ranger because he's my favorite and the box makes a nice addition to my mmpr black ranger collection. I also recommended this to my friend with kids who he is trying to get into power rangers

If I was to guess about the white weapons, I'd guess since it's a "retro-inspired" figure, the white weapons are a reference to the 90's figs. More specifically the Flip-head figs. Though Hasbro also added white weapons to their own 'Retro' flip-heads.

It annoys me that these basic figures have painted boots, but the lighting collection only has like 3 with the boots painted. It sounds silly, but the painted boots make the figures looks more solid and anchored.

It's the most unnoticeable detail that doesn't make a difference. I never even noticed they had black on the boots until it was pointed out

The power coin is just cheap. Maybe if they molded the trex head and did the whole thing in gold plastic it would be serviceable, but slapped a sticker on a disc is just bad. Why even bother at that point?

These actually look really nice and better painted than the lightning collection figs aside from the silver outline, but it's still not worth 16.99 imo maybe a hard $15 because that packaging is well really nice and thought out.
