The narrative about Mitchell Robinson playing in above 70 games only once in his career is unfair, since he was actually on tract to do so in the 2019/2020 season, but the season was abruptly ended league-wide on March 11th 2020 due to the CV-19 lock-downs.The NY Knicks only played 65 (or 66) games total that season, with Mitchell Robinson playing 61 of those games. And he was fully healthy when the season abruptly ended. Anyway, most of his injuries has been contact injuries from landing awkwardly on someone's foot after fighting for rebounds and playing tough defense.
Bro he’s still always injured lmao. Just bc he almost made it thru a full season doesnt disclose the rest of his playing career always being hurt. Whether its his fault or not. Availability is your best ability.
@@Katakuri213 - That’s another false narrative, though. Just for context, Isiah Hartenstein who joined the NBA in the same 2018 draft year as Mitchell Robinson has only played 2 more games than him. Isiah Hartenstein has played 322 regular season games, while Mitchell Robinson has played 320 regular season games. Also, Hartenstein suffers from a perpetual Achilles tendon issue which can rupture at anytime. Mitchell Robinson’s injuries are contact injuries from playing something called DEFENSE, or from being purposely injured by dirty players like Joel Embiid who grabs at Mitchell Robinson’s ankles as he goes up for a dunk.
The more I rewatch highlights from this past season the more it's confirmed that I-Hart is a massive loss. He's in the mix of so many good plays - he's tenacious, smart, fit perfectly with the team. And that's not a knock on Mitch. Leon needs to figure something out here
@@donWWE31108 his value far exceeded the 'invisible' games, esp with Mitch barely healthy. but Mitch was solid against Embiid. they need a competent backup in case
@@noodle123ify When Danny doesn't like his player, he would attempt to trade for a 1st round draft pick to redo. It's not gonna be easy getting Kessler.
even if we wanted to the salary doesn’t match up between him n mrob so we’d have to send a key player like divo or hart as well in the trade to match salary which makes 0 sense so lopez def isn’t happening
Walker Kessler is 22, Jalen Duran is 20 or 21., why would their teams be interested in trading them? I don’t know about Duran, but Kessler doesn’t seem to get along with the Utah coach, I think they just want the Knicks to take their baggage and get first round picks plus Mitchell Robinson . Just bring back back precious and trust Jericho sims.
I think we are good at the 5 position. Sims started a decent amount of games the last 2 years. Sims could have a jump like Deuce in his 3rd year. Sign a vet like Javalle to ride the bench mentor and be ready to play when needed
Pretty sure we can't use the whole thing cuz using it all would put us over the first apron which isn't allowed and once we use the tax payer MLE and fill out the roster with vet min or re-sign precious we won't be able to use any of it.
Mitch only missed 5 games his second year 61 of 66 games in short covid year ! A 72 game year is 3 healthy years including first year he had 60 game season and just 2 injured years both broken bones name his 3rd injury ?
Everybody keeps talking about a center that can shoot, that would great but we don’t need that, history shows that u can win championships with defensive minded centers, Tyson chandler, Ben Wallace , Boston won with Perkins , Mitch Robinson if healthy can get it done, we need a solid back up and we good 👍🏿
Duop reith. Cheapest salary possible. Top 5 3 pt shooting center. Above average on defense. You cant double brunson or blitz him in pick and roll with duop on the floor. He will unlock knicks offense
Nah this doesnt make sense, for that we would kept hartenstien. We're gonna try to add precious, and lowrey so the backup center will be someone minimal.
@@rah0210 theyre suggesting trading mitch for brook, which doesnt make any sense, brooke is 36 and making 23m. what im saying is if we trading mitch its gonna be to resign ihart. Brook is 36 and making alot of money it doesnt make sense. Mitch doesnt make alot of money we gotta rock out with him and land a backup some other way.
@vindigga6 I'm totally with you that lopez isn't the guy we need. I'm just saying with what okc offered him ihart wasn't coming back no matter what we did. Just couldn't get anywhere close to that number even if they got rid of mitch.
@@rah0210 we had 5mil in cap room left for the first apron on the salary cap. With another 15m for the second apron. If we traded mitch that woulda freed up another 15m, but we would have been locked at the 2nd apron. So we could have moved mitch to pay hartenstien but i think the knicks didnt want to be locked at that second apron. At that point ur roster is locked and you cant sign anyone off waivers or anything like that. I think rose wanted to keep flexibility and robinson is still really good, we just gotta keep him from getting hurt. Back to brook, if we add him itll put us on the second apron, i just dont think it makes sense. So yea we could have paid hartenstien if we moved mitch, but moving mitch would have also cost us a pick (because we dont wanna take on anymore salary). It was possible but it was gonna require twisting into pretzels.
@vindigga6 being under the first apron isn't free salary cap space. Only the normal salary cap (around 140) is cap space where you can spend it however you want. No matter what we were a team over the cap working with exceptions. In this case it was iharts early bird rights which is why there was a limit on what we could offer. Trading away mitch wouldn't have gotten us under the cap so no matter what the offer to ihart doesn't change.
Lopez always solid if he’s the cheaper option let’s gooo experience goes a long way but Kessler would be ideal but ainge prices are ridiculous. Could get Paul Reed and achwia and would should be ok. Not trading McBride two way player and good contract
Doesn’t make any sense to trade with Mitchell Robinson leave Mitchell Robinson on the Team leave Mitchell Robinson alone. Let’s just get somebody else out there to come off the bench for him.
Oh! See now if we get Lopez, .... now we're right back on track at excellent pivot depth after loosing Zay. Even at his age Lopez brings Exactly what we need to the table. Not to mention great veteran intellect and championship pedigree. He'd fit in with what the Knicks are doing seamlessly and very effectively in my opinion
