The Knicks are looking to win a championship this season. Thibs is not gonna trust a rookie over Deuce who is a better player and defender. Not to mention Payne who backed up CP3 in the finals. Kolek is gonna spend the majority of his time in the g league. Kolek fell to the 2nd round for a reason. If he was as good a ppl are swearing he is the team wouldn’t have signed Payne lol. We aren’t developing rookies anymore, we going for the chip Thibs is not gonna risk games for a non defensive rookie who’s never played against real nba talent let alone in the playoffs. Miles McBride is the backup point!
I'm hearing Knicks going after Wendell Carter and Nick Richards in a 3 team trade with Orlando and Charlotte, which would send out Mitch, Deuce, and the Nets 2nd round pick... Get that done Leon🙌🏾
Facts are facts. Watching Randle, he's a very talented bully ball forward. He has a lot in his bag and can get his numbers. However, stats do matter. Randle stans defend him because of his stats. 24/9/5. However, there is more to the story. He's a high volume, low efficiency, high turnover player who is not impactful defensively. He also gives inconsistent effort on defense. Not exactly his fault. His coach has leaned on Randle like Randle is a superstar and encourages Randle, a well below average three point shooter, to chuck up as many threes as possible. Can't blame a guy for not having much energy or enthusiasm for defense when his coach doesn't hold him accountable at that end of the floor. Can't blame Randle for being a bad three point shooter. Thibs wants threes chucked up and his centers can't shoot. Randle has taken over 6 and a half threes per game over the last three years while making only 32% of them. 32% isn't horrible if you are just taking threes to keep the defense honest, like Zion, Giannis, Embiid, Jokic etc do. However, a player being a high volume three point shooter who shoots well below league average hurts any contending team. A bully ball forward with a below average true shooting percentage hurts any contending team. Especially when said bully ball forward is also a turnover box. The only reason Julius is still a Knick is nobody wants Randle.
facts are facts 5th most doubled player in the league when he got hurt, they are more efficient with him then without him, they played their best ball with him, he generated more 3PAs for teammates than anyone else and those 3PAs were made at a higher clip and they had more space on them. He makes the team better The reason he is still a Knick is that the HC, FO and owner love him and havent tried to trade him
@@iec7587 Love? Nah. If they loved him he'd get the instant extension in August. 14-3 with OG and no Randle. Donte scored 21 ppg with great efficiency with no Randle. Brunson scored 31.5 ppg with great efficiency with no Randle. Their "best ball" was a 14 game sample size of meaningless games...and OG was the reason for the team success over those 14 games. Not rocket science. You like the player, you extend him...or trade him to a team that will extend him. The only reason to not extend him AND not trade him is nobody wants him.
@@Michael_Page They are most efficient off of his passes out of the double or the "hockey assist" passes, that is a fact. Brunson's efficiency went down when Randle went down, that is also a fact.
@@iec7587 OK. Now take that fact and add it to the other facts. Team assists go up and team turnovers go down when Randle doesn't play. The best season in Randle's time with the Knicks came with Randle spending the last half of the season in street clothes. Any benefit Randle brings in terms of shot creation (either for himself or others) is lessened by a high turnover rate, inefficient shooting, and inconsistent defensive effort. It's great some guys shot better with Randle...but Randle has chucked up 6.5 threes per game over the last 3 years...and made about 32% of them. He brings down the team average. Why is the worst three point shooter in the rotation taking so many threes??? The Randle conversation is an exercise in nonsense talk. You Randle stans say what Randle does, but can never make a causal connection between Randle's game and winning basketball games. Every NBA player does some things well. Saying, "Randle does X" doesn't mean anyting without context. He has a superstar usage rate. Of course some of his statistical metrics are going to be inflated. However, overall, Randle is very inefficient for his role. The mere fact that there is any delay at all for his extension should tell you the Knicks don't see Randle the way Randle stans do. He brings nothing to the table but offense, and it can be argued that he negates some of the offense he provides by being so turnover prone and inefficient. Not to mention the lack of defensive impact. And that's Randle at his best. At his worst he pouts and throws temper tantrums when he doesn't get his numbers and he's the worst playoff player in NBA history.
Randle is good where he’s at is in a position where Knicks fans will appreciate him more n see his value he ain’t a number one option he’s a good number 2 n a great number 3 but with this roster he’s right where he needs to be
Ranlde is OUR GUY. Many of us Knicks fans needs to appreciate him. He is truly the embodiment on NYC. Hard nose player who as GROWN WITH US. At this point, already, he will be known as a KNICK for the rest of his life. #iStandWithRandle🟠🔵🗽
The thibs plays 6 players narrative is false he plays 8-9 man rotation in the regular season like everybody else lol that lazy none of the Knicks was in the top 10 in minutes last year and Brunson took the money early it’s the max he could get this year it’s not a pay cut it’s taking the money early let’s Go Knicks !!!
Would it be great if Skapi stev could fill the backup center roll? Of Course. But that’s a complete gamble especially when our starter misses 30-50 games a year.
@@salaplaylistfast5369 they should.. I don’t see why they wouldn’t. He has shown potential of being able to do literally everything you would want from a Center
