I feel like Brunson is a better defender than people give him credit for. He's never going to be all defenseive team or anything but he hustles, has good technique defensively, puts in the effort and he was near the top of the league in drawing charges. I feel like the only part of his defensive game that's lacking is his physical limitations, which is valid, but he's not a mediocre defender by any means.
He is a great defender but u dnt want ur 1A getting spent on D, we can go Pippen Jordan, Klay Curry, Luka anyone else, etc. there’s no reason for JB to guard a teams 1A. PFs, Cs diff story. Ur C is guardin Embiid PF guarding Giannis it’s diff when it’s 1-3, u get to 7fters as 1A…
@@ericgolden2070 ...oh I completely agree. I just feel like so many assessments view Brunson's defense as if it were a liability and I just wanted to point out that while he can be vulnerable to mismatches I think his defense is overall an asset, not a liability.
@@devingiannini2077 huge asset, great D just noting there’s no reason for him to guard say Luka when ull have bridges for ex. They will be best D in league - a bold fckn stmt.. I almost forgot all his charges
“Mortgaged their future” is BS. Even if they didn’t trade for Bridges l, they’d still be picking out of lottery. Likely 20+. And let’s not pretend they have this ridiculously successful draft history. Mitchell is ONLY guy on team now that will be projected to play meaningful minutes that they drafted. Picks they gave up weren’t going to high picks. And they still have picks in those same years.
That 2031 pick is the only real one that Knicks fans should be concerned about but if they win a title or even make the finals a couple of times then no one will care what these picks turn into.
It can definitely happen, take the 08 Celtics title for example. To be realistic, winning a championship is a complete exaggeration with this knicks team in their first year but they have potential to go far.
@@kemzstudios6489 of course, there are tons of factors. Im just saying it doesnt happen often in the first year and we as fans should temper expectations. The big hurdle is boston imo.
@@user-is1yo3nj8p i know, but its not easy to just sleepwalk into the finals. Boston specifically will be a problem. And we still havent seen how the west will pan out. What if something crazy like durant and KD went to LA? I know thats unlikely but im just saying.
I understand that he misspoke and they didn't actually make the ECF but for all intents and purposes of measuring the team's high water mark going forward I feel like you can consider taking a team to 7 games in the ECSF with most of your lineup out w/ injuries as being on par with making the ECF.
if they weren’t decimated by injuries they would’ve made the ecf. the pacers wld hv nun for the knicks if ny was healthy nd i’m pretty sure everybody knows that. but the fact of the matter is that they weren’t healthy but next yr i can almost guarantee they’ll make it to the ecf or maybe further
The Knicks need a secondary ball handler and they will definitely win a title. It is still the best Knick team within the past 30 years though. Randle, Bridges, and Divo are third tier ball handlers. They are not bad but not amazing either.
Additional moves the KNICKS need to make..... sign MO Wagner to backup Mitchell Robinson Re-sign Precious Achewua Trade Duece McBride with the two 2024 2nd rd picks for 1st rd draft picks Sign Kyle Lowry to backup pg Sign UDFA DJ BURNS
Yo Knicks need to trade Randle for a cheaper defensive 4.. yall dont understand the 2nd apron luxury tax. It destroys you team if you go over 189 million
KNICKS MADE 2RND GAME 7 WITH ALL THE INJURIES THEY HAD..IF THEY WERE HEALTHY THEY DEFINITELY WOULD'VE BEAT INDY..BOSTON IS THE ONLY TEAM STANDING IN THEIR WAY
I think straight up winning a chip is a stretch but they have the chemistry, flexibility, guys coming back from injury…..this team is for sure gonna be dangerous next season.
Definitely not a "stretch!" It's possible because of the very reasons you articulated after claiming it was a stretch. With most of their starters gone for 2 months.. they still won 50 gms. It's like the movie 300. If just a few of them could do that and get within 1 gm of the conference finals.. imagine what a healthy roster with capable additions do?! 60 plus wins isn't a stretch and neither is a chip. Plus see their wins against western conference teams last season with 3/5ths of their starters out. A stretch? Vegas doesn't think so!
@@arrellehnisrael8229they were hands down contender if healthy 23-24. Randle is clearly the 1B for Knicks n he fits well, he is multi-faceted, shot improving, driving no ?, post game, etc. The big diff is he can create offense on his own while also not crowding the paint to allow JB hit midrange. Until shown otherwise, he is a great 2nd option and u can’t double anyone bc Bridges from 3 (goes from 1A to 3rd), JB, imagine OG and paint as the 4th
Knicks fans have a habit of celebrating before they actually win anything and it’s absolutely hilarious 😂. The Knicks BETTER win a championship or this will go down as the most overrated trade of all time.
Knicks won 50 games with a injured team. Imagine how many more they wouldve won if they werent injured. This also applies to the other teams in the east.
@@Killerqueen2000 and all star in Randle. Did you suddenly forget he exist. You do realize Randle didnt play all playoffs a walking 25 PPG 10 Rebounds. Knicks were also missing Bojan a guy who Averages 20 PPG which is basically Mikal Bridges now.
@@Killerqueen2000 Stop speaking those pesky facts and logic to Knicks fans. They don’t understand that language 😄. They’re like the Alex Jones of the NBA 😂.
You don’t know basketball. The Celtics won because they played great team ball. The Knicks were DEVASTATED by injuries last season and they were a game away from facing the Celtics. Because they played great team ball. Now they’re deeper and better. So yeah they’re championship contenders.
Hardly any better than last year? You’re talking like they weren’t the second seed and weren’t killing the league when they were healthy last year. Now they just just got better with Bridges.
