There is no way to justify Trouba being on this team. He has regressed since they gave him that C. He had a terrible year and is a bad defenseman at this point. Cut your losses and bring in a bottom 6 defenseman who can manage the puck.

He's has no physicality to his game and was scared to get hit all series. He gave away pucks that turned directly into goals. He's not worth the money

A very memorable moment and special gesture from our future Captain as he consoled Igor after the loss. All Igor needs is a few goals per game in the post season and he'll do the rest. It's a shame we can't oblige him. The saddest part is that Igor puts so much on himself and self-shoulders much of the blame. He deserved better. I've read a lot of articles saying that Trouba cost us the series. We never know what would have actually happened if he avoided ridiculous penalties, giveaways and atrocious puck handling in our own zone. But it goes without saying, and I've said it for 3 years... He seems like a good guy, but that doesn't equate to Good hockey player. Making him Captain backfired, because they'll never bench a captain. Thinking back to 1994... If Mike Keenan were coaching this team, Trouba would have been wearing plain clothes for the entire postseason, and rightfully so. As for Trouba having a bad year, it goes well beyond that. He's been killing us for the past three postseasons and I'm getting tired of screaming "NOOOO TROUBA" every damn time he touches the puck, misses a hit or lets his man fly past him, leaving him in the dust. Enough is enough.

Listen everyone always wants offensive players at the trade deadline including Larry Brooks from the New York Post. instead we should have been loading up on defense. This happens every year with the New York Rangers.

What I'd like to see happening: Roslovic and Wennberg - gone. They didn't do anything, and we don't need more soft underperformers in this team when most of our core fits that bill. Wheeler - gone. I think he's finished, he can't skate anymore. Lindgren - gone. I know this is going to ruffle some feathers since he's a hardnosed player who bleeds for the team, but the fact is that he sucks as a defenseman, and his stats show that. He's terrible on the puck, the play dies on his stick, and Fox is being held back by him. Optimum scenario would be to get rid of him through a sign and trade. Put Miller on with Fox, and put Zac Jones in the lineup. Trouba - buyout or trade. I don't care if we retain salary or have to give up picks. Just do it. He was a net negative on the ice throughout these playoffs. He was a net negative through large parts of the regular season. All of this for 8 million a year? Hell no. Get rid of him. Gustafsson - if we can convince him to stay for a reasonable price, I'm all for keeping him. He was super valuable at league minimum - obviously he's going to get more than that this time around, but still. Then we pray and hope that Perrault and Othmann pan out. At the deadline, you look out for hardnosed, but responsible two-way players to complement our soft ass core players. That's why Copp worked well for us and the likes of Wennberg, Roslovic and Kane did not. We do not need more finesse players come playoff time, we need killers.

Nobody sees the stats. Trochek, Zib, Panarin, Laf, Krider are top scorers on the team. Most of the comments say to push Zib and Bread out. Who is going to play then? 😂😂😂 Due to Bread, this team has lifted up. Yes, he is small, he is not trying too hard. What do you expect from him: to fight Tom Wilson every night?😂😂😂 Just bring other good pieces to the team. Truba needs to elevate his game.

Look at the way stankoven played in the playoffs for Dallas. They guy is 5’8 and was playing like a dog out there. And he was in the top percentage of puck battles won too. Size is no excuse for playing like a bitch

i feel like the issue is offense. they have to score more than 1 or 2 goals in big games. id love to see them add a sweeper like yanick gourde was for tampa bay who plays good defense and then forces the puck out and beats the opponent to the puck and then sets up his teammates. a lot of players like wheeler are clutch shooters but i think they'd rather have a way to set up their top scorers. if they were scoring 4 goals a game they would have won this series so i think you just have to find a way to get more opportunities and rely on igor.

Kreider , Zibanejad, and Panarin all disappeared our last three years of being eliminated. After winning two games vs Lightning,Devils and Panthers the three of them were MIA for the remainder of each series. Something needs to change so someone has to go.

Florida D corp absolutely difference in this series. So much better in all 3 zones!! This Rangers team reminiscent of ‘fat cats’ of 70’s and 80’s - too many bloated contracts for non productive players, exemplified by Trouba! Unfortunately, not easy to just buy him out. Panarin is our Marner, simply not built for playoffs. Our stars didn’t want to get hurt to make a play, while Igor played his guts out! Shameful!! Take their big paychecks and go play golf. Good luck to Drury figuring this out!!!

First thing they need to do is trade Trouba. His modified NMC kicks in now so they should do whatever they can to ship him out. Next, they need to get rid of Mika. His time as a 1C was short-lived and it's clear now he's too soft for the playoffs. Tough part is he's signed till 2030 with a full NMC, but maybe trading away Kreider (now with a Modified-NMC) will push Mika into agreeing to a trade. People blaming the lack of 5v5 production on Mika and Kreids not having a 1RW sounds crazy to me. The way Mika and Kreids played this year, no right winger was gonna produce. Compared to every 1st line in the NHL that can gain the zone and possess the puck, M&K look like minor leaguers. The Bread, Trocheck, Laf line was the best 5v5 line in the NHL this year. Instead of trying to rebuild a 1st line, look at it more as rebuilding a 2nd line.

1 Stanley Cup in 85 years . Sickening. K'Andre Miller had to ho. Doesn't like contact loses every puck battle and can't clear the zone at critical times in the game and the puck wines up in back of the net. As for Truba he's the only one with Lingren that consistently hits on D. He's only 30 he's a keeper. Wheeler was out with that nasty looking leg injury. I thought go with guys that got you there. He was rusty and so was Chytil. Keep Chytil hope he doesn't get another concussion. Wheeler to old let him go. 85 years 1 Cup. Sad. Been a fan since 72-73. A lot of heart aches in those years.

Wouldn’t say Lindgren is a “definite” re-signing. Lindgren is very injury prone. Also rather have more size on on the back end. Also why would they bring back Gustafsson? He wasn’t very good for the Rangers in the 2nd half of the season through the playoffs

I’m a ranger fan, this team has the most potential out of any team but the team doesn’t play as 1. Trouba and Gus were the worst defensemen this season, the defensive play of them Both this series cost them, the rangers just didn’t hit, didn’t play hockey, a team who was propelled by Igor laf and troch isn’t going far if the team can’t play, last season this team was an all star team but couldn’t play in the playoffs

The problem with the Rangers is that they were bullied with size this series. Personally this offseason id look to see what happens with Carolina contract situation. Carolina is probably gonna have to pick between Necas and Guentzel. I think Drury is gonna keep his eye out for Necas because he’s a big guy who’s young and can make plays at 5 on 5. That’s just my prediction.

Trouba’s contract is an anvil weighing the team down at this point. I don’t know if he necessarily deserves to be traded, but all that money and cap space is really not going to good use where it’s currently invested. At the very least it’s gotta be renegotiated if not bought out.

Yes, there are players who certainly need to lift their game, but they still are getting us close to the winning the cup. The amount of hatred being directed at them, especially towards Trouba, is fucking disgusting. I agree that some changes in personnel need to be made and I’m as heartbroken as any other Rangers fan, but calling players like Trouba “pathetic” and “trash”, players who put their safety on the line to make big hits, take big hits and literally fight for their teammates, well…that just doesn’t cut it if you’re a real fan. We all want to see changes, but calling these guys “pathetic” is what’s truly pathetic.

I was more upset with third line. They barely showed up all three rounds. Wenberg, Kakko and Culye. Culye for some reason gets a pass on this team. I know he is a rookie but he was useless in playoffs. Barely had any plays for weeks.

We will see after this years draft. Ranger focus is overkill on potential scoring as opposed to GRINDERS, WITH SIZE. They should see what gets other teams there over the past decade….size who can contribute.

Rangers are soft AF. Need to give Miller a larger purse to hit people with; big kid who will not play the body. The entire D was awful in rounds 2 and 3. Now watch them make stupid trades and signings for no-talent big bodies like they did with Reeves and Brashear in the past. The window is fast closing on this core. Zib played like his head was up his @ss. Plus singing a couple of career 3rd-liner spares at the deadline for their Cup push? There was nothing in Wennberg or Roslovic's career stats to make anyone think they were getting anything except what they got from them; damn near nothing...the "Almost Twins" - almost entered the zone, almost got the shot, almost cleared the zone, almost won the puck battle... Shesty deserves WAY better than this.

I agree that we need to get tougher but the Rangers didn't have that many options at the deadline. We loaded up last year, yet we made it farther this year. In the case of the Rangers, we need more physicality and forechecking, which is actually available on the market

In our country we used to say :" you play what you are allowed to play"- with that said Florida just didnt let them play top players from NYR they have been just erased thats what florida is doing barkov and reino are not only good offensive players but defensively top in league. Put there Forsling and you have mix of rock solid defence that can handle top NHL players. We will all see it in finals when they are going to destroy mcdavid and draisaitl.... mark my words

Our defense needs an overhaul --Miller Trouba and i know people love Lindgren , but we looked lost back there--atleast Schnieder showed gusto , speed on the puck , grinding when needed and going up when he is supposed too ..Miller was out of position all the time , Lindgren was flailing at the puck all the time , Trouba was on his heels alot and bad recovery descions ---Fox will be ok and Gustusfussen needs more time---ship Miller Lindgren and Trouba or two of them for a lockdown defender --all star defender --make a trade

Trying to move Panarin for a more physical is what I would try. I liked the idea of trying to JT Miller for him last year I know Panarin would have to agree ect.

I already couldn’t believe we paid $8 million to Truba and then the fact that he got the C blew my mind. this was the core that we built when they decided we had to end the Lundqvist era. with everything in play this was their best possible chance. Trouba single handledly threw a 6 year rebuild out the window. and it also is so sad to say that this has to be Panerins best playoff year.... which isn’t saying much because he didn’t do anything

Trouba is not a captain.. Messier is the only captain in Rangers history. captains lead, you would never ever see mark take dumb penalties like he did in the playoffs

They definitely wont just let Kakko walk. He'll be signed to a cheap depth deal and/or potentially traded. You dont buy out Trouba since he has 2 years left. You either trade with retainment or see if he has bounce back year and if not just trade or buy out his last year which is a lot easier to move on from.

Trouba has to go he is horrible Panarin is a no show year in year out when it means most Yes zibz was a ghost and played the worst hockey I’ve seen out of him in a while With that said he offers more then Panarin ever can by beeing a 2 way forward and an amazing penalty killer They absolutely let Igor down as a Ranger fan it’s become very repetitive over the years

Mika is here to stay. With six years left on his deal and an AAV of $8.5 million plus declining play this year, he's staying. Having him as the 2C and Trocheck as the 1C might not be a bad idea. They need: 1. A top 6 RW, whether it's Kane, Buchnevich, Tuch, Reinhart or Marchessault 2, Another RD and to let Zac Jones play. 3. One surprising move that we don't see coming

Panarin is not a playoff player, he's too small and just gets pushed around and he himself never joins a fray for the puck.

They DEFINITELY don’t need to resign Lindgren. Statistically he is even worse than Trouba believe it or not. Move on from the both of them and get some d men who can move the puck

I guess I just like his grit, so could be my bias but I think he should be fine. I think if they added a bigger physical dman on the backend that would help a lot. Plus Miller should keep getting better as time goes on.

Locker Room what you are missing is size, grinders. Look how everyone this last decade have won the cup. Not with our lineup. Rangers couldn’t deal with Panthers tenacity. Size, pushed the Rangers around. Rangers were totally outplayed. Why weren’t your star players playing well. It’s obvious. Kakko, gone. Chytl, trade. They need to stop worrying about potential high scorers, and go after big grinders that can give you 12-15 goals. Couple more would be a big plus. Go back and look at the 94 team, how it was built. Been a Rangers fan since early 60’s. They constantly draft the same. Thought Drury would be different.

Early 60's? You must remember "That Gene Carr will be wearing a Rangers sweater for a long time!" unless you were at that game when the Big Whistle made that proclamation. My brother and I always laughed at that one when Carr got traded soon after.

@@miked6335miss Gordon and the big whistle. These players today are soft compared to the heavyweights back then. Wilson wouldn’t be sh*t back then. I know game has changed, but still miss it. Look how Keenan built it. He got some flack from Neil Smith, but to Smith’s credit he gave in. Keenan had ROLE PLAYERS. Mostly grinders. His luxury was having Messier, Graves, and Leetch. He also had a defense that didn’t leave guys having coffee out in front of the goalie. What happened with role players, they won the damn cup…p.s. Rick Middleton

@@miked6335for me, same as you. Brooks with his smurfs. His problem, he brought college hockey mentality to the pro level. End of June is the draft. This will tell us what direction they will go in. Hopefully they draft differently, and not just add a free agent and think all is well. They have to change the culture of this team. That’s my take.
