Whenever I think of Blount I always think of the Super Bowl LI, the Pats vs the Falcons. Both offenses were stymied in the first quarter. At the start of the 2nd qtr Blount fumbled hard and gave away the first turnover. This put the Pats in a bad spot as the Falcons started scoring like crazy. We all know how the Falcons blew that lead but sometimes we forget what happens on the sidelines. LaGarette Blount was on the sidelines keeping everyone pumped up. He's a great teammate with a positive attitude. The Pats turned it all around with the most amazing comeback in Super Bowl history.

I was the kicker in high school but also the 4th string halfback/tailback, and in the playoff semi-finals during my junior year our 1st string halfback (the head coach's son) went out with a possible concussion in the 2nd quarter. Not a big deal, we had more RBs, right? Wrong. The 2nd string was out with a sprained ankle and the 3rd was at home with the flu. So it was my job to run and kick for the rest of the game, and I did, but for whatever reason I was on fire and ran like I'd never ran before. I guess it was adrenaline, and maybe some fear, but I put up 130 yards and 2 TDs that night, while kicking 5 PATs and 2 field goals of 35 and 44 yards, scoring 23 of our 41 points. We won 41 to 27, but I never ran the ball in a game ever again. Why? As I said, the coach's SON was the starting halfback, and there was no way on God's green Earth anyone was taking his starting job. Oh well, at least I got to carry the ball for most of a game, and did a good job. (edit. spelling)

Well none of our receivers are great IMO. Haven't been since 2018.

The Pats are unmatched at making their backs look like all stars. They've done it so consistently throughout Belichick's time in New England.

That's almost exactly like Timmy Smith of the Redskins in the 80s, only he had that singular great performance in the biggest game of all, the Superbowl.

I feel Bill finds running backs the most disposable position and I don't really blame him. As long as you have a good o-line a mediocre rb can get a good 60 yards or so. And if you have a couple of rbs you can just cycle them out. Basically what he did for alot of the mid 2010s. Vereen, Ridley, Blount, Bolden. Later White and then Michel. Now he's got a rotation of Stevenson and Harris. Bill has sorta cracked the rb system in an underrated way. So Gray overstepped. He was good but he forgot that he was easily replaceable.

Burt Lancaster in Field of Dreams: Son, if I'd only gotten to be a doctor for five minutes, now that would be a tragedy. He played. He had a great game in front of the whole country. In spite of the what-ifs and regrets, on some level, that has to be enough.

That game was nuts lol he was credited with 199 until like an hour later the NFL said that he actually had gained two more yards and hit 201 haha
