Hopefully not, I will be starting the next video a lot sooner than I normally do just so this crazy 6-7 week wait doesn't happen again, really fell out of the work routine and motivation after I had to trash a different video I was working on, and so it just sorta lead down the slope of putting things off and saying "I'll work on it next week" every time I aim not to let that happen again, here's hoping anyway
Recently just stumbled upon you hence to the holy algorithms of RU-vid. Instantly showing me a new race game I never knew about. Love your humor and narrative style.
Imagine Toyota doing the same, meanwhile Toyota is going "those damn meddling kids and their video games, no one will buy our shitty hatchbacks anymore if we are in a game"
Lol you make it sound like they're like Ferrari that only sells cars to idiots Really tho, i dont like seeing cars being used in street racing, it realy hurts the cars reputation, i mean i cant stand seeing someone street racing in a Nissan 300ZX
@@hybridShinx I don´t think games would make you want to race on the street even if there´s that in the games, I loved the Underground games but didn´t race on public roads :D It´s just good exposure for manufactures, probably many of us who like japanese sports cars etc. got our inspiration from Gran Turismo and such. I wanted both of my real cars based on them being featured in GT 1&2 :D
I thought NFS 1 always had an in car view with accurate dash. In fact in car view is the only way to get the rear view mirror to see who's behind you since there is no "look behind" feature. BTW what do you mean by "first person view"? The helicopter cam?
I sincerely love the 2D first person camera/cockpit view in this alongside the first two NfS games. The way they look and shake around is really charming.
They're there until NFS 3 actually, until it was replaced with 3D cockpit for NFS 4 and 5, then subsequently removed for all NFS games moving forward (barring Shift titles).
As if EA would do that. They're shortsighted, they cant see that thing lasting or even going to be better than the annual releases of their current stuff
"How tough are you?" Shinyodd: I got a rare game that realistically is hard to get "Yea, so? Shinyodd: I even looked at page 2 of Google "Uhhm, right this way sir"
The first text in Japanese is メモリーカードチェック中 which means checking memory card, the second text is 記録はありません、キャンセル which loosely translated means no record found and cancel. Another one is セーブ中 which means saving. This one セーブできませんでした means unable to save in polite form and the last one ロストベガス以外のトーナメントをクリアしてください which loosely means complete tournaments other than Lost Vegas (on of the maps is called Lost Vegas).
Nostalgia I think the thing I liked most about the NFS games was the information they gave about the cars. This was before mainstream internet, so it was educational. I had part 3, hot pursuit and Porsche unleashed on ps1. Then hot pursuit 2 on ps2 followed by underground games and pro street
Do it in the clips channel. The channel is smaller, and more constantly updated, so more chance for him to see your comment. I've succeeded in asking him to play Valve Limit R again, so I reckon you should have some success there as well.
@@jayclutch1326 i have DM'd and replied to nearly everything on all his social medias, i caught his attention ONCE on a stream, He refused to play it and just changed the topic so nobody would beg him to play it lol
It depends, some of them is a good mix of arcade and sim, out of all the classic Need for Speed games, Black Box's Hot Pursuit 2 is the most satisfying!
Damn it, I was about to cover this! Despite how janky NFS1 feels these days I still love GT-R for the Saturn. I imported a copy a couple years ago, I need to get my hands on a copy of Skyline Memorial at some point.
i am but never had fast enough internet to play it. nfs before all the import tuner culture i miss hard. the games actually tried to be realistic as they could. now its la rush or something.
Ohhh I remember reading about it on a gaming magazine, I was sooo hyped about playing head2head online. I actually clicked on this video thinking they were talking about this one.
You should do more Japanese exclusive racing games like J’s Racing, the JGTC titles, the Altezza test drive game, Netz racing etc. This video was good!
Awesome to see someone talking about this. When I was in Japan a couple years ago I saw this on Sega Saturn along with the keychain you could get with it when it first came out. I still need Skyline Memorial in my collection.
Shin-Yodda 😱😇 Or in short, Yodda 😱 (Yoda+ Shinyodd for anyone who doesn't see the origin/pun. With inspiration from the original comment I comment on👍😅)
There were other games with a first person viewpoint like this during that time period bud, not many but one or two. Check out rac lombard rally, think one of the lotus esprit titles had it, didnt need for speed 1 have it too? Awesome vid 👌
I have a copy of skyline memorial. Was pretty cool to find in my dad's game collections. I just figured it was a normal racing game that wasn't too big. Then I did some research OMG with what I found
This is a genuinely amazing video, he may only upload once the rock in his hand has eroded into sand nut the quality difference since he started doing this format
Honestly I never heard of this game before and you're right, this is the most rarest game I have seen. This video is mad funny in some moments but it was very informative. Fun fact the Nissan R390 is one of the rarest cars most of us will never get to drive due to Nissan making 2 of them for road use and about 8 of them for track use. What a shame for Nissan only making very limited units of them, at least the Nissan Skyline GTR R34 made at least 11,578 units even though Nissan almost went bankrupt.
1:36 Japanese game devs do that a lot lmao. I thought i never heard of this but looking at the gameplay, i think i saw this in an LGR video? Btw this was very well made, amazing as always Shiny!
Nice video! I used to play NFS SE on DOS back in the day as well as other NFS titles, and I'm a Japanese but I didn't know about this Nissan version, so I had fun watching this. I was also a bit excited to hear Toru Furuya's voice at 5:00 since he's known among the car fans in Japan for doing the narration for a popular Japanese car show called Car Graphics TV (ran from 1984 to 2001), which I used to watch when I was a kid. (He's also the voice of Amuro from Gundam and other famous anime characters)
The Japanese writing on the memory card screen says: “Checking memory card“ “There is no record“ “Cancel” “Could not save” Good golly gosh that took a while. I can read Hiragana and Katakana (The simple looking characters), but the Kanji (the complex Chinese ones) I had to search wiki for. Was it worth the time? Yeah, who needs sleep anyway?
On the wiki page for Kanji, the characters are listed by the number of strokes, or individual lines. In English for example the letter C has one stroke whereas H has three, and there are very few, if any letters or symbols we use more complex than that. The most complex Kanji character has 33 strokes. The character is 麤 (you may want to zoom in). However if you look closely, it is the same set of lines repeated three times. I am currently trying to learn Japanese, but I have completely lost hope for learning Kanji. I know the basic ones, left, right, mum, dad, and so on, but beyond that, I just don’t have the brain capacity to remember them all. Ramble time: School students in Japan are expected to learn a set of over 2000 Kanji characters. However, many more obscure ones exist, about 50, 000 in total, and no single person knows all of them. It gets crazier when you look at the Chinese origins of the language. A kind of dictionary/catalogue was published in 1994 with over 85, 000 unique characters, however once again, the vast majority of them are no longer in use, but it is still a baffling number. ...and yes, I read all of that on Wikipedia.
@@McPlayer8t lmao yea I’m taking Japanese 1 right now in Japan and I also have the same issue. I know only how to count to like 10 and some other obscure things
Make a video about the forgotten failure that it was Asphalt Injection. There are 2 version's. 1. Is a PlayStation vita exclusive. 2. There is also a lenovo promotion release for android. (There are the same just the lenovo version look's worse and has a few extra cars)
"RU-vid algorithm is very confusing" It's still nothing compared to its "search" function. Recently, after playing Option Tuning Car, I tried searching SXE10 (Lexus IS300, as it turned out later) and the results I got were... Rather odd, to say the bloody least.
I came into this video thinking it would be a shitty NFS knockoff game like Street Racing Syndicate, but I was pleasantly surprised. This game looks quite good for a 1994 racer. The car montage videos are sick, and that intro gave me chills like the Forza Horizon 2 intro does. Keep up the great work Shiny!
I really suprised that it has 1st person even when it is really an old game.Even some racing games nowadays sometimes do not come with 1st person camera.I like it(Also really great video by the way)
