As a Bruins fan I can honestly say I never saw this coming.

Bruins winning the Stanley Cup this year would be the ultimate redemption for coach Jim Montgomery. Dallas Stars dismissed him from his head coaching duties few years ago due to drinking problems and I thought he'd never come back. Look where he is now.

Tbh, I love watching the bruins this year. They have been a rollercoaster ride of excitement. They jumped to my top 5 teams I watch. They went from everyone down playing them and saying they won't make even the playoffs to drama with signing young talent to injuries to getting solid help at the deadline to now this. I think no one can stop them but themselves. The people that stopped tampa was themselves. They really need to consider the oppenent as a challenge - always. But then again the leadership was there (marchand, bergeron and krejci) when they lost a 3-0 series lead to philly. Man. Just remembering that. Isn't it almost fitting for them to beat philly to set a record in wins?

Ok, I’m going to confess. I made LOTS of jokes to my family about Montgomery when hired but he has lead this team masterfully. I tip my hat to him and each Bruin as they have worked their ass off. I hope we get a parade!!!

Huge credit to don Sweeney who has surely taken his fair share of criticism. Moving on from butch was not easy but it’s clear Monty was perfect for the job. The slow build of the roster has turned into an absolute power house of a roster top to bottom. Crazy to think the Mitch Miller issue was this season- feels like it’s been years since that happened. The trade deadline adds were perfect and don did everything he had to to give This team, specifically the vets, the best chance to win. It’s on the players and coaches to win the cup now.

50+ year Bruin fan and I didn't see this coming. They were going to be better this season than 14th but record setting first is a surprise.

Bruins fan since 1969. Not since early 70’s have they been this deep in skilled players. Only thing stopping them would be facing a hot goalie, otherwise a great season with the right coach, great goaltending and finally a more uptempo game that matches the teams collective skills. Quality hockey. A joy to watch

Never in a million years did I see this coming. They were injury-ridden when the season started, the core was getting old fast. Sometimes everything just clicks and the rest is history. If they manage to win the Stanley Cup, it'll probably be a season no team is going to eclipse anytime soon.

Right now, the team that has the best chance to beat the Bruins is the Oilers. These two teams in the finals would be an all time epic showdown.

As a life long Bruins fan it's hard for me to say that a team out there can take 4 from them in the playoffs. That said, I thought the same from Tampa a few years ago so I am trying to be cautiously optimistic. But as any player will tell you the season is made up of 2. Regular Season and Playoffs. No team has a real advantage when going into the playoffs. Even if you give them home field, that only works if the team can keep the crowd in it. Go Bruins!!

I will admit I am not a Brad Marchand fan, but I appreciate what he brings for his team. That being said it is simply amazing what the Bruins are doing this year. I lived in Detroit for 4 Cup Final wins and their '95-96 Season when they won 62 games. To maintain that consistent level of focus and concentration night in and night out is nothing short of remarkable. The Bruins earned and deserved these records.

Stanley cup is usually a war of attrition. And I see the east war more intense than west.

All I can say is they've accomplished more than any other team in NHL history to this point. And are just about to enter a tournament for the hardest trophy to win in sports where none of that matters. but the insane amount of pressure that will be on them. 95 Wings and 19 Lightning can tell you all about that and IMO they were both better teams than this current Bruins team.

This is always very hard to guess .if you get a team of goons that can hit heard disrupt the best scores you will see. that'll be the out come for any team remember all this year they've been pretty well better in everything they can kill penalties and they can fight. they built a great character fighting team when needed .I would say they'll go all the way.

Being a bruins and red wings fan, I’m nervous about the bruins team doing what the red wings did in 1996. Bruins set the bar so high now, no cup would be a failure.

There have been plenty of surprises this season for the Bruins. All positive for them. Lindholm has been absolutely fantastic when good is all that was expected. Ullmark being the likely Vezina winner came out of nowhere. Swayman is a starter for many other teams. Even guys like Clifton, Coyle, Foligno and Frederic having outstanding years. The secondary scoring issue from years past is gone. I honestly do not see a team being able to keep up with the Bruins in a series. They wear teams down during games. What team is going to withstand that for a series? Just an absolute steamroller this year.

From my amateur opinion, I never thought that winning so many games in any given year would be possible. Given all of the competition out there and this game called hockey needs as great amount of luck to get goals in.

Assuming Skinner keeps his current form, definitely the Oilers. In addition to the best offensive in the league, the shaky defense has stabilized incredibly since the arrival of Ekholm (+25 in 19 G.). Then Toronto and the Rangers - and of course the AVs (assuming Makar, Lehkonen etc. get fit). Vegas and the Cans have an extremely slim chance of beating Boston in a series in my opinion.

As an Av fan,i have total respect for Boston...but it means not a damn thing unless they win the cup.And while im picking them to lose in the east playoffs-wouldnt surprise me obviously if they win the cup.Im going with the NYR to win the cup,but Boston,Toronto,TB,& NYR all are pretty close in my mind. TB gets the full benefit of doubt til proven otherwise-the only team that gets more benefit of doubt than my Avs. But after picking TB 4 straight yrs-I do think Toronto finally gets by 1st round this yr. NJ has the talent,& a bright future,but young,playoff inexperienced teams dont USUALLY do well in the nhl playoffs,especially in that murders row east this yr. I picked Carolina over Edmonton in the preseason,& Carolina definitely has a shot. But losing Svetsnikov AND Pacioretty in the that east,feels like a death sentence-it wouldnt be in the west,though itd still hurt a lot. But unless some crazy shit/injuries happen,& say the Islanders,Fla,Pitt,or even young Devils win the east-then all bets r off.But thats highly unlikely-my opinion-I think the only 2 west teams that would have a decent chance in the finals,are my defending champ Avs-assuming reasonable health. And since weve had the worst injuries of any deffending champ in like 30yrs at least-thats far from a given.Its actually amazing we even made the playoffs-considering the injuries-let alone are 1st in the central,with a great shot at the west 2 seed. Granted playing in the west sure helps. We probably be in the playoffs out east,but likely as a WC,& facing a MUCH tougher path. The other team is Edmonton-whos a lil better than last yr,but much more experienced,& confident after wcf run last yr-Eckholm helps also. Their goaltending is still shaky at times,but probably more dependable than last yr-if only slightly. But I think the Oilers,& Avs may have WCF rematch,but this time it wont be a sweep. I hope im wrong,but id probably predict Oilers in 7,but either team would have a punchers shot in the finals. I dont think Dallas,Minny,Vegas,LA...let alone WPG or Seattle would have much chance,other than its hockey-where upsets happen more often than any team sport-so everybody who gets in has a shot,unlike the nba where everybody really doesnt. Boston vs the Toronto-TB winner will be nuts,& its amazing that 2 of those 3 teams will be guaranteed gone after round 2. Thank God my Avs are in the west,but we had to deal with the opposite in the mid 90s-early 2000s,where we won 2 cups,but playing in the FAR SUPERIOR west probably cost us 3 or 4 more Finals trips in 7 yrs or something.

The craziest thing is that Marchand has only scored one goal since February 25th. If he regains his scoring touch during the playoffs, the Bruins will win the cup.

Unpopular opinion but I think the Leafs could put up a fight depending on their goaltending holding up, Tampa could as well from pure experience and elite goaltending. And for the West the Oilers could be tough depending on their Goaltending coming through

Hey! I get that as a Boston fan. You're super excited and your team is having a great season. But to say that this is the greatest team ever. Does a true injustice to all the teams that played in areas where ties were ties. The Red wings team that previously held the record played in an era where ties were allowed and would have had that least four or five extra wins from overtime ties even if they won 50% and lost 50%. So Boston's having a great season but unfortunately they will never match the quality of that Red wings team top to bottom 12 Hall of famers and they did it in the dead puck era were clutching grab was legal and when ties were not decided by shootouts. So good season Boston, unfortunately it's a little much to call them the greatest team ever

Ironically the only teams who are a threat to the Bruins: *1. Themselves* *2. Leafs* *3. Islanders* The last 2 simply because they may go into those rounds a little too cocky, especially with the Leafs, knowing their history.

Oiler’s have depth and talent and tenacity, so counting them out is foolish Toronto has pockets of greatness if the click on all cylinders, goaltending is the Achilles heel though unmarked has been solid for Boston between the pipes so he is a key this year, in my opinion.

Everyone keeps saying edmonton can beat them. In the regular season they look very evenly matched. They haven't really found that next level of play when it matters though. They barely got past LA and beat up a calgary team known for choking in the playoffs. If they had pushed the avalanche to 7 or even lost in 6 I'd have more faith in them ending canadas cup drought.

And it really won't mean a thing If they don't win it all.

Ilya Sorokin and the Islanders are certainly capable of eliminating the Bruins. Sorokin could easily steal a couple games and in a short series, that could be it. I think there are 6 legitimate Finals contenders in the east this year, although Carolina and Tampa look like they're limping into the playoffs which isn't a great sign.

You spent moat if the video on Pasternak...yeah he's a big reason for their success, but watching this you'd think he singlehandedly is responsible for this incredible season.
