Nixon in the pool scene had my stomach hurting with laughter. I had to pause the movie because I laughed for a good 5 minutes. I still laugh thinking about Ryan's reaction to seeing him in the pool.

I'm actually a little surprised at Jeremy's rating. The way he talked I was expecting Blue Ray.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was pretty good same director as this movie.

"LA Confidential" was pretty damn awesome; coincidentally also staring Russell Crowe.

One thing I noticed about this movie is that everything was relevant Every line of dialogue and every scene felt necessary to the plot. Nothing felt forced or unnecessary.

My favourite crime comedy has to be Rush hour 2, by far. No competition there.

I left the theater thinking this was an instant classic and I needed to own it. It was hilarious, suspenseful, unpredictable, and well thought-out. During the movie, you forget you're watching a movie and become entangled in the story, characters, and dialogue. It is spectacular! A must watch. A Tarantino plot but more self-aware and playful.

One of my favourite movies, it was a long time since I've actually watched a geniunely fun movie.

Just rewatched this movie for probably the 3rd or 4th time since its original release since it just came onto Netflix. Re-watching a movie once is an extremely rare occurrence for me, so the fact that I watched it this many times tells me it’s probably one of my all time favorite films yet. Also, I was literally just thinking “the girl who played the daughter should’ve been the one casted to play Ellie in The Last of Us live action show” and then just seconds later you said how she reminded you of her in the game 🤣

The Heat is 100% my favorite crime comedy!

I just got back from seeing this with my dad at the local $5 show and I must say, it's a great time. Mr. Crowe and Mr. Gosling nail there parts, and the supporting cast are great too. It does a good job with the 70's feel, and captures the reality of the things going on at the time. Very funny with good action.

I loved this movie. The Nice Guys was one of the most original story in film in a while.

I actually think Pulp Fiction is kinda meh. My favourite crime comedy is Snatch.

Jeremy you are nuts this movie is hilarious I could not stop laughing at the ankle gun thing ...and that kid on the bike had me bust out...plus the equanimity part! OMG that was unexpected and got me.

I loved this movie. Really hope we either get a sequel or just another movie with the same two leads. And my favorite crime drama/comedy is "Snatch", without a doubt.

Dialogue in 70s porn was better than today imo. Today it's really cheesy.

Not a movie, but I thought Psych did the whole "buddy comedy-crime" thing fantastically. Great chemistry between the two leads, great writing, impactful and sincere-feeling character development over the years.

Man, I haven't watched a Jeremy Jahns review in years...used to be a subscriber. I laughed so hard watching this movie, enjoyed every second of Gossling and Crowe, and continued to laugh once the screen had gone black...we're talking tears of laughter. But Jeremy, you missed it; the magic. Sad to say I remember why I'm not subbed anymore :/ sorry, Buddy ("How'd you know my name was Buddy?!", hahaha). It's nice to see/hear the same intro and outro after all these years though, haha.

Jeremy, I really agreed with your review. This is one of my top 5 all time favorite films. There was something you said that resonated with me. You said that the hitman was one of those characters who you wanted to see more of and I agree. The actor's name is Matt Bomer and he's actually one of my favorite actors. He is the star of the USA Network show "White Collar," and is really good in everything I've seen him in. He was damn good at the beginning of "The Magnificent Seven" as well, even though that was a small role.

I hope this movie gets a sequel. I could totally see another movie with these two.

I saw The Nice Guys last week after being invited to an advanced screening followed by a Q&A with Shane Black and the producer, Joel Silver. I can honestly say this is one of the best, funniest movies of the year. I absolutely LOVED The Nice Guys!!

Granted it wasn't a laugh out loud the whole way through comedy, but dude there were definitely some laugh out loud moments. Ah well, again, personal preference.

Midnight Run is my favorite.

This movie is straight Awesometacular for me, I was enjoying the hell of this movie. It was so pretty, so fun, so fresh, so energetic. I loved it to bits.

That awesome hitman was played by Matt Bomer, he's an awesome actor who needs to be in more things. Shane Black, Ryan Gosling, and Matt Bomer are the top 3 reasons why I was excited for this movie!

Definitely one of, if not *the* funniest film of the year!! Check out my review for a fuller opinion, but yeah I absolutely loved The Nice Guys :) Love Shane Black's writing and the wittiness of his script.

You guys like to here a joke Two guys meet up in the gates of heaven and they are both talking about how they died the first man says to second man "I died by hyperthermia it's actually quite peaceful it's guide of like following to sleep" The second guy says "I died by a heart attack" "Really, how is that" said the first man Second man says "Well I was actually trying to find the man who slept with my wife in my house, I could tell he was home because I heard someone ran down stairs. So I looked in the kitchen, bathroom, basement and I couldn't find him and as I was making my way upstairs I had a heart attack and died". The first man says "It's guide of funny because if you had just looked in the freezer you could of saved both of us".

I think Shane Black is an Abbott and Costello fan. The scene with Ryan Gosling next to the dead body calling out for Russell Crowe’s character, Healy, after he fell out the window reminded me a lot of Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein when Costello is next to the tomb of Dracula calling out “Chick! Oh Chick!” in the museum and he starts panicking because the coffin is moving.

So far, my favorite crime comedy would be "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" by the same writer/director. I can't tell you how pumped I am for the nice guys! I will be in cinemas the first day it comes out in Germany (which is still like 2 weeks down the road...).
