My son Jett is currently in the NICU he was born at 24 weeks while we were on vacation in Hawaii. We will be here for 4 months. It’s so hard being away from all of our family back home in the states. We are so happy he’s been doing well so far though! Prayers for him are appreciated 💙

Both my sister and I were nicu babies and had similar time frames. We were both born 3 mo early and went home a little over 3-4 months after we were born. It is always interesting to hear my mom tell us stories and how her nicu experiences were similar and different. My mom had a nurse that took care of me, that she still talks to today, which I think is a very sweet connection! Both my sister and I didn’t have any very major issues, just some more minor ones here and there. But we are all healthy now! I have loved being able to hear your journey and I am so proud of your little family!

So thankful we have the NHS in the UK, I can't imagine having to pay for the medical treatment.

@@How.Dare.You. I agree it's bad now, but if I were pregnant and had to pay for all the medical needs I wouldn't be able to pay it, and then if I went through what Renee went through that would cost even more. I'd rather have the NHS than the American health system.

"free" health care has a lot of downfalls. Also if you have insurance you have a max you pay. My baby was in the nicu for a while and I only paid $3000

Bless your heart. The NICU is hard. My first baby was born via emergency C-section 6 days after my due date. He was in the NICU for only six days but I could never understand why. The doctor said labor trauma and then I found out later he wasn’t breathing when he was born since I was in labor for over 38 hours. We all have such different experiences. Thanks for sharing yours. I suffered a lot of depression afterwards since I didn’t know anyone that had anything but a “normal” experience.

Congrats on Bryson making it home 🫶🏾 I also have a preemie, he came 3 months early and currently 1 month adjusted, so I can certainly relate to EVERYTHING you said. It’s so difficult and the journey is not linear, but it does get easier to manage when you’re in there so long. We ended up at 2 different hospitals because he had major surgery on his head (all is well); we’re blessed to have him home. Curious how your baby is sleeping at night? Mine wants to be held 24/7 P.s. who cares what anyone says! owlet is a MUST for sanity, can’t go from 100% monitors of oxygen, heart rate and breathing to nothing 😵‍💫

Hey Renee, thanks for sharing with us your NICU journey. I’m sorry that happened to you. I’ve been watching these videos and had to wonder if you’ve considered if your baby was ok sharing all his information so publicly? I know you’re his mom and wanted to share but he may not want his birthing history publicly shared when he’s older

Just for some perspective; I spent eight hours in the ICU, very sick. I had an ultrasound two IV’s & another ultrasound. The cost was right at $17,000!My insurance paid almost all of it.

My husband was a nicu baby back in 1979. he was born around 32 weeks and weighed just under 4 lbs. once he finally went home, he dropped below 3 lbs and had to go back:( He also had to have eye surgeries. His vision isn't great today but he can see! Your story is so heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. You and Zander are wonderful parents. It's going to be so fun watching you raise sweet Bryson 💙

I was a NICU baby 24 weeks in 1981. I was in the NICU for four months total was over a million dollars. My mom's insurance payed for most of it, March of dimes and crippled children's payed the rest, my parents only had to pay for the ambulance ride because they rushed my mom from Alma, mi to Lansing, MI.

I had 2 c-sections and my second was horrible. I’m not overweight and have always been active and ended up with 5 blood clots a week after going home. It was really depressing not being able to take care of my daughter and almost dying. I cried every day. My son was also a NICU baby. I’m glad I’ve got my two but I will not be having anymore. Both were traumatic in different ways. Thankful my family and yours are happy, healthy and thriving. Glad to see you and your family coming together during this time 🖤 it truly does take a village

Our babes were born exactly a week apart 🤍 My baby was a NICU baby but was born at 41+3. We knew from pregnancy that she needed surgery shortly after birth. I loved how you showed the progression of oxygen they are put on. Anyways I could say so much about how great this video was but congratulations on B coming home! So happy for you guys 🤍 ETA: even if the worst happens post NICU discharge, it’ll be okay. I feared the worst and still no one has met my daughter but she did get RSV at 7 weeks and ended up right back in the NICU on the BiPAP. It was extremely traumatic to be back. But we made it through that thankfully. 🥲💖
