Vox in the Void (I think it was them) made a Night Lords short story that has some of the edgiest lines I've ever heard from a space marine and I almost died laughing. I gotta find it again.
@@nullakjg767It was Cold Open Stories: When All Lights Have Gone Out. "You want to duel? You need hands for that!" *cuts hands off* And later on: "When I'm this close to you, what do you see? Do you see darkness? Do you see your corpse-god welcoming you to oblivion?" (This after killing said person's fellow SoB)
12:24 I'd definitely put the Ultramarines at A-tier, if not S-tier. Simply because they are so reliable. Because they're the jack-of-all-trades Legion. They're in the top 3 of every category. You send in the Ultramarines, the job is going to get done.
8:16- Those deaths weren't in combat. Evidenced by when it explicitly becomes a fight right next to his hammer, Vulkan yeets him into the containment field, and then proceeds to play the galaxy's most one sided game of pinball.
... I must learn more about this Gendor now. For... reasons. But yeah, there are points that I'd give to this guy. While the Night Lords may have had a purpose during 30k, it was a very short sighted one (at least in terms of a story that stretches over literal thousands and sometimes millions of years). There didn't seem to have been a plan for what came next in terms of governship for humanity other than Malcador setting things up before being turned into a match stick. I'd honestly like to know what was the idea for humanity other than the webway and possibly becoming a sentient species, and what would replace the Night Lord's evil remnants. I really want to know, and it even has an in lore place to fit due to the setting's motif of longing for glory days long since passed and will never arrrive.
30k: the night lords were(mostly) outclassed in stealth by the raven guard 40K: (some of)the remaining night lords can be totally outclassed by Space Sharks. Regardless of Konrad's physical capabilities compared to his brothers he still uses power armor and *he can see the future*, that alone makes him an incredibly deadly opponent.
I'm not sure if it is his way of speaking, or just his voice but this guy really comes off as petty in ever way, both from his criticisms, and his praise, all of it shallow. And from a point of logistics the Night Lords were never designed to actually rule, much like how aside from the two legions specifically designed for it, none of them really would have made for good long term rulers, at least in the sense of what he is talking about. And the point about fear? He completely missed the point. You don't use fear to legitimize your rule, or even create a culture. You use it to subjugate the population, and keep them passive and in line until the actual specialists trained to build said culture can come in and take over. I.E how literally ever single legion operated. Sure the rate of their worlds rebelling might be higher (we don't know because we are not told this) but the sheer fact that they were even able to get an imperial presence on world for little to no actual casualties on the grand scale. Fuck it they already got their foot in the door, just send more Imperial Army personnel until they stop. And for peaceful compliances, I am willing to bet they had a far higher ratio of those than most.
Fear isn’t the problem, the Night Lord’s tactics made worlds hate the imperium and that made the jobs of the people that were meant to govern the world nearly impossible. The Night Lords never gave a world the chance to refuse, like the World Eaters, the Night Lords didn’t negotiate. But I do agree that the guy comes off as petty.
@@cpaul562 I can agree with that, a specialist terror force might be useful, but quite frankly the problem come in with the culture and operation of the legion itself. Too unstable and lead by a madman falling apart at the seams, the legion reflects this to a T unfortunately
Kinda misses the point on the Nightlords role, terror is a piece of the imperial puzzle not the entire picture. Konrad didn't always just kill the leadership to make a planet submit, from time to time he would horrifically butcher the whole/most of the planet and have the remembrancers record it (I believe the short story was Lesson in Darkness, but I could be mistaken), you spread that information around far and wide and you're basically applying the Night haunter ideal to the whole galaxy. Thus the threat of the 8th coming to butcher your whole civilization, coupled with effective administration, lessons the chance of rebellion far more than either does on their own. The reason it failed on Nostramo was 1) cesspit of the galaxy 2) not enough administratum staff to prevent a backslide, there was like 2 officials and the rest were all locals on the governing council. Konrad is also to blame for that, but the fact the Emperor took one look at Nostramo and said "meh good enough, send 2 guys to integrate them" is bad. Also the crusade was, for reasons still unspecified on a massive time crunch.
The time crunch was to get enough worlds into the Imperium that it would succeed in spite of itself during the 10,000+ years Big E would be on the throne.
@@Notthat897 true but it can be with a force that moves in when populace is cowed but still night lords are perfect terror strike to ruin anyone morale
Second time watching this vid (sharping ⚡lightning🗡️ claws) he maid his points, still don't agee bout sevetar keep him as is, still don't agree bout father curze manz was a menace. In closing f#&k gendor Pour one out for uzas Skulls for the 8th😈
You know, I'm convinced. I can't wait to see the look on the face of the next Nightlords fanboy when I unironically and casually say that "The Nightlords are just the Raven Guard we have at home."
Well you can always say that to Prophet, he’s usually lurking somewhere in the comments section. Actually he has commented on this video with and I quote “FLAY HIM”.
I feel people have excessive hate for Kurze, and I don’t know why, yes he was bombarded with visions and further delved into insanity and torturing, but people just seem to simplify him to revealing in murder when he is amongst the most dangerous primarch also the inconsistent portrayal and flushing out in some books him no justice. People need to do dispassionate analysis at times
Those points that you brought up in defense of Konrad don't hold up too well when you look at the details. His mauling of Dorn was as near-fatal as it was because it was completely out of nowhere, Vulkan was tortured to death by Konrad (fifteen deaths by torture DO NOT say anything about your killer's martial prowess, just ask the Dark Eldars' past victims for examples), putting him up against Guilliman isn't a great comparison because that guy had his ass handed to him by Angron and Fulgrim at different points, and as for Sanguinius... yeah, the dude's a monster in a fight, but he wasn't an expert on killing stealth experts.
Not a fan of LFBL. They’ve clearly read some Heresy novels, but haven’t really understood them. There’s a lot of wider content and context that they clearly aren’t considering, their delivery is needlessly confrontational, and they do a hell of a lot of straw manning throughout the video. Comes over as pretty childish, and there are far better lore channels.
Conrad curze sucks tho i play his legion most of the fights he got his ass kicked yeah he beat rogal but curze still got stomped by him lion kicked his ass corax could've beaten him to death especially if corax goes into that demon crow form he gets as he beats on lorgar and vulkan even beat his ass after he got free
That was the first time they fought, and it wasn't a false flag the lion just got tired of listening to him trash talking and just stabbed him. The lion 100% was kicking Conrad's ass until Conrad decided to stop fighting fair
@@pepperjack3777 real fighting has no rules, nor codes of honor, kiddo. Konrad fought fair and square in my opinion, but the lion showed poor sportsmanship by stabbing somebody under the flag of parley.
@@velstadtvonausterlitz2338Conrad didn't fight fair and square sunny that's the point, the night lords are at their best when they don't fight fair that's something that has been stated multiple times in the lore by night lords. When they do fight fair they always get theirs asses handed to em
explain how primach is the weakest on 1 on 1 and show proof. Old man: " well you know he not the weakest " prosed to use to explain how he lost all his 1 v 1 fights and only won thanks to underhand attacks. Me: Wow you should maybe not debate
