[SPOILER] I honestly loved giving Frank the VNC tower transmission and seeing his dream come true. From an insufferable alcoholic to a man that instantly felt pride and joy in giving people hope. That’s good character development.
(SPOILER) Yeah! His sheer excitement when Aiden revealed he was giving it to him. I actually played the Peacekeeper path too… giving the transmitter to Jack Matt and hearing Frank is heartbreaking…
@@GamingHarryYT [SPOILER, AGAIN] I would’ve liked Techland to dive more into Franks story. That scene where Jack Matt kills your driver and surrounds you, then out of nowhere Frank arrives with the retired nightrunners was honestly badass. It showed the respect people had for them, even the PK’s wouldn’t go against their word. Maybe in a DLC (probably not), we could play as young Frank right after the fall, that would really spark my interest.
(Spoiler) I think that was the quickest choice I made in the game was giving control of the tower to Frank. It felt like that was the best way for his character to grow
Spoiler in my story Frank just dies from the bombing,I gave the tower to Juan cause I felt Frank wasn't really close to me and then he just dies so no character development for me ,I do get quite a lot for Juan tho
@@jahimuddin2306 Definitely. I also have this idea of maybe playing as Frank and witnessing the fall. Like a prologue sequence when the whole world falls apart and then Frank manages to build the nightrunners.
@@giannispsillias7964 Yeah they were technically nightrunners but the idea of "nightrunners" weren't really in DL1 but they WERE called runners. Also there were two major differences between Harran runners and Nightrunners. The runners were more or less just fighting to survive with other people. They were only focused on surviving while Nightrunners are basically the heroes of Villedor. They would go around at night and day, basically scouting every nook and cranny to see if anyone needs help. They were fighting for the people, not only for survival. One thing to note is runners were just normal humans whilst nightrunners are basically superhumans jacked up on some inhibitors so there's that. Runners imo were far more amazing since they were just ordinary humans who just happened to be stuck in Harran.
lets not back track they should just write a book about the night runners lets be honest they are corny......... we need more story dlc about what happens after aiden leaves that stupid fucking city
@@RUN_IT_UP_ how are the nightrunners corny? They had the same shit in dying light 1? I agree they should probably focus on the pilgriming part of for Aiden but the night runners are definitely one of the stronger portions of the story
IDEA FOR THE BE THE ZOMBIE MODE: We play as the night runners going up against the night hunter the night runners have to rescue survivors while destroying nests and killing the night hunter
If they did bring back the Night Hunter, I think they should limit it to Old Villador. The Central loop is too large and has way to much verticality for nest hunting. Not to mention the amount of indoor locations player could hide in.
Survivors were way too OP in DL1 when they knew what they were doing. However the “rescuing survivors” idea will be cool for adding back lives to the survivor team. Maybe make it so the rescuable survivors only spawn when it’s a solo player. And definitely have it be a rare spawn to not draw out the matches.
@@romanbellic9580 I’d argue the volatile was better if you knew what you were doing. You could disable uv’s and force exploding zombies apon them forcing them to higher ground. You could then slam them off a roof and kill them.
I really enjoyed this game. The story while not being the strongest point is still extremely well done(lore wise). Techland is good at conveying a world and world building. The climbing and combat is a huge step up from DL1
7:12 Does this explain why in the game when the mc is chased that one guy he was able to jump from the ground to the top of the roof in an instant? At first, I though it was a bug but when I watched several people on you tube play it the same thing happened to them and I doubt it’s a bug the developers would have missed
Do you think a nier automata or control would be a video you would want to do? I have no idea what’s going on in these games and your the best at explaining
I recommend BrandoSP on that topic, his lore/iceberg videos about Nier & Drakengard lore is quite amazing and is tailored for those new to the game's lore.
Yeah, I’d recommended checking someone else out doing Nier Automata. Not my kind of game! Will probably look at Control at some point but it’s super complex. Same as Alan Wake
I think it would have been awesome if there we heavy riot night runners like think about it, two survivors are cornered surrounded by infected hope looks grim. A biter lunges towards a survivor tackling the person but from out of nowhere a hand grabs the infected and rips it off the survivor! The survivor looks up to see a massive dude wearing full juggernaut armor with two mounted UV lights on each shoulder wielding a spear with a chainsaw at the end tearing through leagues of infected. That would be so badass
I unfortunately gave the tower to Juan as I had done so much for Juan then suddenly Frank comes in and asks for the tower, I felt like I had put more effort into Juan as I did with Frank
I almost gave it to Juan too, but I have to be honest...he pissed me off almost as bad as peacekeepers did. That's when Frank started talking, and I thought about Lawan who was already on the way, and all the people I met on the way, and I just had to give it to the people
That’s exactly why I gave it to the peacekeepers. So far they were the only ones willing to help me in my search. But I also chose Juan for the end game.
I really want that nightrunner outfit that you see at the end before they swing away. and overall, I'd love more dlc that focuses on the nightrunners. or maybe about Harran, Kyle Crane, or the woman from the comic that possibly has a cure around her neck.
this give light to aiden and how fast and strong he was at the start he was fighting a banshee also he was a whole Pilgrim for 4 years without being infected. he only got infected because he went into a place with no info about it. all the skills in the game fit him because he can beat 4 people because he stronger than normal people and he can jump higher and run faster. i love the lore to know why he can be mr one man helping hand because most people cant go into the same places that aiden can
@@pmchaser9300 That isn't the case at all. Waltz's experiments didn't give Aiden a stronger immunity, otherwise he would have already been infected pre-villador. Waltz experiments on Aiden just made him stronger, faster and more durable. Inhibitors probably only give Aiden a stronger immunity as a game mechanic.
@@isaacturner197 If you played the played the game at all you would know that Waltz only did those experiments on those kids was because Mia was infected and he said Aidens blood was a step towards her cure.
The beginning was so stupid, he survived 4 years somehow without a Uv light and then immediately gets bit at the start of the game. Terrible cliche of “losing power” that needs to fuck off.
I completely agree but they were high on the fact they could have gotten contol of the tallest building in all of the map and have a raido station to warn people of when some bad things were gonna happen or get more people to come to the safety of the fish eye
@@Aryon1969 I guess since it overlooks the city the night runners could have used it to watch the city at day and go out to protect people or maybe use it as a new safe zone were the floors with people were full of UV lights powered by generators
Not necessarily but i see your point. Lewan was able to make it up there though which makes me think if Cillian and Hakon was with Frank an the rest of them, they would have easily got up there being the supposed badasses they are. Even takes longer to kill Hakon than it does some volatiles in the game so there's that also haha
If you remember the original gameplay trailer of DL2, there's a guy who gets killed by banshee during ending of the trailer and it shows a kid approaching the body of that man weeping "Dad". Can he be Rovak or Anton or any of the Night runner ?
Did anyone else find the VNC Tower mission extremely underwhelming?. The whole time the game is telling us it's a massive volatile nest that wiped out the night runners. And yet, during that mission you only run into a handful of them and most of the mission is parkour. I was very much disappointed. I'm also going to point out it was irritating that this lawan character managed to scale the exact same nightmare Tower in half the time
@@baller9157 Yeah, If you don't take the safer routes there are a lot of special zombie types roaming around VNC. After I finished the mission I started looting the tower, exploring every floor. And hell it was tough. I can only imagine how the party of nightrunners suffered, they paved the way so Aiden got an easier time climbing that tower. edit: (not every floor, in a literal sense, just the accessible ones not spoon-fed by the mission)
Aiden is a nightrunner depending on the path you chose. In my file he brought back the night runners with Frank . Even Frank said to Lawan “you’re bringing them back Lawan…and so is Aiden” so that gives it away to me. Also I got the deluxe bundle which comes with the legendary night runner outfit and legendary night runner paraglider . So yeah in my file he is a nightrunner. But if you choose PK path then I believe you get accepted as a PK as well
13:03 spoiler Anton Novak actually does die during the failed VNC Tower mission he was torn apart by a Volatile shortly after he opens the door and leaves the trapped room he was in. Anton’s final screams were heard on tape as a volatile tears him apart. The tape is Tape of a Nightrunner #8.
Finally thank you for explaining i was always so curious on who the night runners were and wanted to know more abt them but couldn’t find any results online until now :) !!!
The Story that Anton Novak died makes me so sad tho realy Think he was a good guy die trying to save his friends and dies from a Volatile wish we could seen his body or something
Seeing as the nightrunners were created after the fall which was in 2024 and after black Monday in 2025 no he wasnt. Inhibitors were created when Adien was five and before the fall. Adien is around twenty in game and it was only fifteen years since the fall. Breken was in Harran since 2014 and we have no clue what happened to him other then the nukes not going off.
Everything in this summary is great EXCEPT for one thing, i measured the height of the VNC tower using physics and in-game waypoint marker and both gave out a result, the tower is 350m tall, there is no way its 110m so yeah i would like to know where you got that from? i never found anything in-game that specifies the height of the tower
@@GamingHarryYT oh hahaha, it's fine we all make mistakes I just wanted to point it out you know, awesome lore videos Btw I love dying light lore keep it up!
I’m not gonna lie, when playing the game I thought the night runners were the runners from DL1. That’s the only reason I chose them as my faction for the ending. Kinda not as cool now
No matter what faction I choose (mainly peacekeepers for me) whenever I replay the story, I always bring back the nightrunners back to their former glory, in homage and tribute to the old nightrunners from dying light 1 always gotta keep the new generation alive
Inhibitors remind me of blood vials in bloodborne. In BB, when you become drunk off the blood, you become a beast, the very thing that the hunters hunt at night. In DL2, take too many Inhibitors, you become a volatile, the very thing that we try to avoid. Bloodborne and Dying Light 2 are very different games, but are both my GOTY's.
Bruh I didn't even get an ending my screen just got stuck on the part where it shows free folk banners hanging over skyscrapers. I have no idea if I left with Hakon or Lawan.
Apparently the VNC tower is actually 310 meters tall, instead of 110, which makes sense because it seems substantially taller than a football field is long.
Tbh frank sayed he had a good plan but the Mission failed cuz someone stoped belivieng and more after I think they were like in a circle so looking 360 but someone ran to elevator so the 360 stoped so everyone couldnt cover anyone for first and yeah should keep belivieng not be scared and not cuz of "far more infected then intisepated
Finish the main story line pretty quick disappointed with the game very fun till you finish than it’s like Wtf this is it? Had/has so much potential reminds me of Skyrim in a way but wit way less to do. It needs so much more quest and stuff and would so much more fun
@@Siinchro he may or may not have gotten the virus in some other parts of harran but it was clearly stated at the start of DL2 that a cure was made but then our kind friends at the GRE continued to experiment secretly and obviously it went out of hand again like what did we expect to happen other than that? I wish they gave us about more ideas about what happened to the rest of the world. An outside the walls massive expansion would be lovely.
My story ended with everyone alive, and leaving with Lawan. You had to be a bit strategic, but just use common sense. Now my map is completely open and clear. This game is a blast, I'm still having an awesome time with it. Truly my new favorite. Mind u I came from COD Zombies.
Spoiler! ! ! ! ! ! Spoiler! ! ! ! ! ! Anton sadly does end up passing away, in the tape, you can hear him scream as a volatile drags him away into the darkness. Such a sad death for that kid, he never deversed that
It really depends on how the inhibitior interacts with the blood. Blood has protein indicators on them that act almost like little pass cards to your immune system. So people with type A blood can't accept from people with type B as the B blood won't pass your bodies inspection so to speak. Type O blood is so sought after is becausw has no markers so they are universal donars- any blood type can accept Type O blood. However it's a double edge sword as people with Type O blood can only accept blood from Type O as any A, B or AB blood won't work.
