The Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase Was Actually Awesome! (6.28.22) 

Sonic Frontiers:*releasing new stuff* Chiguy: not impressed

This Direct was a soul for a soul. like wow this is what I want to see in partnership directs because it was good and unexpected. let's be honest if it was a regular direct I would be just info and a small new trailer to projects that we already know and DLC to Strikers and MK8 and people would have complained, but this was really a good direct and happy.

I was always happy getting this. It exceeded my expectations and I just can't wait for all of these games. So much to look forward to in gaming in general and for switch users like me.

Out of everything I liked, NOTHING tops the MEGAMAN Battle Network Legacy Collection.

I stand by the belief that even if we got a general direct it would've been 3rd party focused still, with just recaps of games already announced and on the way. This was a good decision in Nintendos part. With that said the direct was great and lowkey better than most general ones

Nier and Persona ... on the swich along side Wicher and Doom I want to see what excuse other dev il bring when there do cloud version, if that stabilizes!

The 3rd Party didn't disappoint Persona 5 Royal definitely buying really enjoyed P5 on the PS4! Mario+Rabids Sparks of Hope is looking awesome especially with a playable Bowser yes! LiveALive is still a RPG I'm still getting!

I loved this direct 10/10 , we are finally getting nier !, the creator of the series about a year back spoke of interest of putting it on the switch now its here! And now the battle net work collection and persona 4 i want

Nier Automata was the most exciting announcement for me personally, but I’m worried it won’t run well on switch

There is a first time for everything, and this may be the first time a mini direct had most satisfied (if not everyone lol)

I'm happy about this direct overall since It's getting more stacked than ever! Nier automata, Megaman Battle Network collection, Mario and rabbids sparks of hope Pac-Man world repac, Portal companion collection and the persona games literally made my day! I can't wait for these games to come out and play them!

That persona soundtrack in the background puts me at peace.

I thought this Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase is really solid and well done. We may not get an actual Nintendo Direct, but this one is good. The highlight for me is PAC-Man World Re-PAC. It’s one of those games that was made for the PS1 back then. I’m glad we’re getting more platformer games like PAC-Man and Klanoa after the success of both Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy and Spyro Reignited Trilogy. If PAC-Man World Re-PAC sells really well, then we could see PAC-Man World 2/3 getting a remake in the future. I also like that there are zone trials in Sonic Frontiers. I think that Sega is slowly showing features on what story is about in Sonic Frontiers and I also want to know about the skill tree for Sonic the Hedgehog in terms of getting upgrades on Sonic’s attributes including attacks, defenses, speed, and agility. I’m looking forward for the showcase for Mario+Rabbids Sparks of Hope. We get to see how the turn-base battle will work. I want to know about the story and the lore of Mario+Rabbids Spark of Hope. Who is the new villain that Mario and the Rabbids are going to face. Are we’re going to see Rosalina during Mario and the Rabbids quest? I hope we get answers. As far as the Portal Companion Collection, I’m happy for those who wants to play Portal 1/2 on Switch. Portal 1/2 should also getting port on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

This direct was such a pleasant surprise. Persona 5 Royal alone was a huge deal; Sunbreak continues to look phenomenal; NieR Automata getting a proper port; Portal shadow-dropping was awesome; and PAC IS BACK!! Only disappointment was no news on Bayonetta 3, but I guess that’s not too surprising after some thought.

Man, the first time i saw this channel you had like 10K subscribers, and you had a low subcount for a good while and i am glad that more people are actually pay attention to your channel now.

I was waiting for a video on this from you chiguy you're pretty much the guy I go to for Nintendo news. Though I still think Sonic Frontiers needs to be delayed for a year. Also why isn't anyone talking about the big surprise that Persona 5 Royal was announced not to be a cloud version.

Splatoon three, Bayonetta three, Metroid prime four are the main games I am looking forward to owning for my switch before I consider my collection for the switch complete. I am looking forward to the switch in twenty twenty three. I do agree that this is fine with switch content, the year is already over saturated with something for nearly everyone.

I expected Persona 5 to be the original one, but being royal is a nice bonus

My two highlights were Blanc and Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, especially the former!

I honestly feel Nintendo made the best decisions regarding there not being a general direct. With Xenoblade Chronicles 3 getting an amazing direct with it coming out in a month, plus this Partners Showcase which was pretty solid and finally gave us more info and a release date on Mario Rabbids 2. Nintendo's 2022 continues to be amazing, and hopefully the September Direct will focus more on early 2023 games

Direct Mini was fantastic. Persona, Nier Automata, and Portal on Switch are fantastic, and I'm looking forward to Live A Live and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope in the near future.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if the nerd pacman meme and the pac is back meme was a secret guerrilla advertising campaign by namco to advertise pac man world.

ATLUS may be Nintendo like in business, but they know where their demographic is, since their focus is Japan they'll release on Switch since it's Japan number console, so everyone should chill the f out whenever a niche game don't come to Switch in day one, different from us PC players there's no real guarantee we'll get such games as frequent as consoles

Now I think about it, the mini direct is good, mostly the games are coming this year(even though most are older, remaster/remake games) but still new games.

Some good stuff here and there, but not out of this world excitement offerings. It all comes down to what you want or hoped for. And that’s the make or break appeal.

This was a great direct but I just feel this would've been way more ground breaking if it was announced before when these games seemed impossible to bring over, in say 2017-2019. The third party scene is doing more than fine now, so games such as Persona and Nier: Automata, while greatly appreciated, were needed much more back then than now. But still thought it was an overall solid direct.

The Direct was pretty good I just wish they featured Klonoa which is dropping in July

I think the reason people want a general direct is because even though Nintendo has a stacked summer they only have 2 first/second party games for this holiday season. Their holiday lineup is Mario + Rabbids on 10/20 and Pokémon on 11/18 and that's it.

A lot of people were actually disappointed that Pac World (and specifically Pac World 2) weren't included in Pac-Man Museum+. There is more demand for that game than you might think. Give the succes of some cult ports, like Stars Wars Unleashed, Sonic Colors Ultimate, Shantae GB edition, Scott Pilgrim which all charted high. I think more companies realize now that some games, not just triple AAA titles when first released can find even larger audiences when word-of-mouth spreads. Now let's see if we can get Contra 4 re-releaseed. Lol

I'm kinda disappointed that Dragon Quest Treasure is a Switch exclusive. Hopefully its a time exclusive and it comes to other platforms.

I agree, about the need for a full-on Direct. All first party announcements for 2022 are here, and the last details (like release date of Bayo 3, the NSO+ games or the MK8D DLC) remaining can be dropped on social media - in addition to a dedicated Direct fir Splatoon 3. I think we san wait for the Direct in September/October.

Of course I'm disappointed we didn't get a real direct. Even though I was prepared for it as soon as I heard E3 was cancelled, I still had some hope we might get another big Nintendo game for the holidays besides Pokemon. But as far as partner showcases go, this one wasn't bad.

It's crazy to think in 2017-2018 we used to focus on the amazing first party games to distract ourselves of the poor third party games. Now we are focusing on the great third party games to distract ourselves from the poor first party games.

Only slightly disappointed on GoldenEye 64, and Tactics Ogre rumors. But overall I am happy with this mini. The worst thing was that Disney game. It absolutely is going to be bad, on all levels because it is free to play. I liked that Persona is on Switch. I still need to play those games to understand Persona Q & Q2 and Strikers.

But Chiguy. Is it not more valuable to have a year sub for xbox game pass and get persona 3,4 and 5 for xbox/pc? The yearly subscription legit costs the same as a newly released switch game. Are you like me and doubt that Nintendo will put a resonable price on this persona bundle?

I don't like monster hunter because I always feel like I'm directing a human tank with a controller run through DirecTV on the moon...to then spend like an hour chasing a t-rex all over the damn place until it dies and I feel guilty for hunting the thing down that was escaping for its life. Just not fun for me. Visually looks good though.

The direct was meh to me. A lot of the games I already played or already knew about. And I actually don't like the Persona series. But there are plenty of games already announced, so I agree with you first point that I didn't really need a direct

This direct was whack ( proves that Nintendo doesn't have games this year)(most of the games showed are coming in 2023)(the little bit of games that's coming this year had no date)( they didn't expect strikers to flop, so there's a huge gap with no games in the coming months)

All of these Directs disappoint me - gaming is nowhere near as good as it was twenty years ago. Why get excited about ports and yet more RPGs? The Switch is beyond saturated in both at this point. There’s very little variety on the Switch and few ever call it out for its stale range of games.

This direct mini sucked. All games that have been released else where or games I just don’t really care about. Sucks that summer game fest and this both were just slogs.
