The Nintendo Switch 2 Is Called The Switch Attach?? 

Why not just name it the Super Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo previously had codenames for their next gen consoles. While “good looking” hasn’t always been their goal but more of a creative approach for a different type of innovation concept. 3rd party games will require some power under the hood for sure 👍 Cosmetics isn’t the goal in my opinion.

Maybe it’ll be called just Nintendo Attach without the features of removable joycons 🤔

The thing with the name "Nintendo Switch", it showed that you can "switch" between docked and un-docked almost flawlessly. (and the joycons would come off) Maybe this next Switch will have that, but also work like a tower PC would, where you can "attach" different things like a better screen, or a add-on battery pack for longer battery life. Yes, we already have these in 3rd party accessories, and Nintendo wants to put there name on some of those products. And there could be even more things you can attach to the switch 2 that I haven't even thought of. Like to make gameplay for specific games better.

“Switch Super” doesn’t sound that bad

Nintendo Attach is like the Nintendo Switch dock but with an 8 inch screen in the front, an external GPU and removable battery in the back. The dock can act like an battery operated external monitor with the Switch docked in or as a secondary screen when the docked Switch lift up on a rail so two screen can be seen. It can be operated with the batteries alone, or plugged to the wall with another bigger TV, or plugged into the cigarette port of your car. It comes with the new Joycons that can attach to the 8 inch screen which is also the main gaming system. The detachable tablet in front of the dock is the next gen, a Switch 2. Attach is the name for the modular eco system. Then come GC, 3DS, Wii and WiiU. You can connect your old Wii sensor bar, your old WiiU gamepad, your gamecube controllers, your Nintendo Online Subscription classics controllers, your old Nintendo Switch 1 controllers. GC controller, Wiimote & Nunchuck and WiiU gamepad will be added to the Nintendo Online Subscription classics controllers store. Even the rail that lift the Switch up on the Attach dock can detach an make the combined Switch 1 & 2 look like an advance Nintendo DS. Everything can be bought separately: the tablet removable battery, the dock battery, the Attach dock, the Switch 2 system, the Switch 1 system, Joycon 1st gen-2nd gen, 2nd gen Joycons battery, 1st gen and 2nd gen game cartridge can be used but their main role are mostly for authentication of accessing the digital upgrade of the game. Let's keep dreaming guys.

Hot Take: If it was just called the Switch 2 that would've been boring and fucking stupid. It would be a terrible marketing decision because if it was called the Switch 2, some would be driven off from purchase because it would just be "another switch." Also Switch Pro and New Nintendo Switch are also dumb names.

What if the switch attach is just an accessory that literally attaches to the console/dock that makes the switch more powerful like a more modern console?

To be fair, console names have always been bad. I mean, Nintendo Entertainment System, SUPER Nintendo Entertainment System, Microsoft Xbox, Sony Playstation 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, Playstation Portable, Playstation Vita, OUYA, Soulja Boy, Xbox 360, Xbox ONE???

How do we even know that this system will be anything like the Nintendo Switch? We truly have no idea...

The DS had a huge base. The Wii had a huge base. The WiiU had two screens... calling it the WiiDS is a no brainer and would have sold like hot cakes. People who are in their 30s and have some disposable income, some of their favorite games are DS and 3DS games. The switch is a no brainer. Calling the next one the Switch DS is also a no brainer.

I think it will be a new dock that will have a more modern GPU inside it, where you can put the old switch and play new generation games on the TV and games with lower graphics in portable mode, hence the name attach, because let's be honest, they could take advantage of the large number of switches sold and they would already have a captive market

I think it’s pretty creative and a good pun on the gimmick of the original Nintendo switch where you attach the joy con Trust me i really get the joke with the name I think it would let you expand on the switch’s gimmick while adding a duel screen mode as a returning feature Maybe the new gimmick would be like this You have 2 prices outside of the joy cons 1 is the main switch with the first screen and the other who is what i call the secondary attachment Who will give you the option to play on 2 screens on the go but its not required to play some of the games but if you are playing a tomodachi life remake then you can choose between having a mandatory double screen or having it optional and you will be able to 1 2 switch between both options at will using the town hall And each screen can come with its own set of joy cons which will let you play on each individual screen separately But some games will force you to have both screens join forces

Maybe a WiiU triumph back to the stage spotlights, a N. Switch with two screens or a function that allows console sendind game stuffs to tv menwhile the screen at our hands showing another stuffs, like ds/3ds and WiiU kind... Just dreaming awake hahaha. Regards from Brazil!

Imagine they releasing something like a switch fold 🫠folding screen like that Samsung flip.

I would call it the switch revolution and do the thing they never did. Connect all lost content, implement so older games and servers work, global unlock for services and link function between services of DSI/3DS/SWITCH shop and implementation of emulators to run GBA games etc. Would be a hella long project but to be fair it would be so huge in the long run and would revive a big part of fans

This reminds me of the pre release of the wii. They wanted to call it the Nintendo revolution. But changed it to wii because the Xbox 360 . I always imagined the switch 2 to be something you could clamp an extra screen on. The second screen would be like a ds/ Wii U type thing. This system will have attachments. I think the mount or the second screen will feature a mini projector, so it could be played anywhere outside. The separate screen also acts as a controller so you and your friend could both use it as separate switches. They probably will call it Nintendo attach or something very similar. You get the Nintendo attach and a Nintendo attach projector . Nintendo attach xr glasses . . I could be completely wrong but it sounds good

Switch U... Any name that does not suggest that the new system is the predecessor of Switch and not just an upgrade of the same generation, will be a suicide for them. And I think they've learned this lesson with the Wii U.

Well, at least it's better than the DS/3DS line which relied on you already knowing about all the other different ones with a one word variation, tacking on a NEW in front. So I do hope they in fact go with a numbering system (like Play Station does) or with an entirely new name.

it better be backwards compatible and have no joycons attached , joycons cause so much trouble from damage to just inconvenience and issues with syncing and un-syncing mid game we need a switch lite device that doesn't have joycons but also dockable

Tbh, I don’t think the Switch Attach is a dumb name. I actually have a good concept in-mind for it. We’ve actually gotten these pieces of art of a DS looking thing and I think the Switch 2 will have an attachable screen to better fit the environment or something to games. Idk, maybe js me but yk.

They've been screwing up names since the Wii U and the 3DS. Both are way too close to the name of the previous product and non-gamers get confused by these all the time. Both are also backward compatible with their predecessor, furthering the confusion -- a Wii U not only sounds like just an accessory for the Wii, but it will play any Wii game you put in it. The 3DS at least got a punny name, being a DS-like system with a 3D screen. But then they had another opportunity and blew it again even worse with the New 3DS. What's that, are you trying to buy a new original 3DS, a used New 3DS, or a new New 3DS? Super NES confused parents back in the 90s, but today everybody knows "Super" means a more powerful new successor to what came before it. Super Wii would've sold better than Wii U. Super 3DS would've been less confusing than New 3DS. At this point unless they fire whoever is approving product names, I'm sure they'll pass up sensible names like Switch 2 or Super Switch and give us something ridiculous and confusing like Switch Attach. Also, "Attach" worries me. Is it going to be a separate piece that attaches to add the top screen? This piece is going to get lost. Better to make it fold like a giant DS.

My proposal for a switch successor: Nintendo Attach & Switch Hardware Spec: Power: about equivalent 2013 version PS4/Xbox one or steam deck, 1.5 tflops portable and 2 tflops docked Graphics: 1080p30/720p60 OLED handheld, 1440p30/1080p60 docked Same cartridge slot except with a piece missing, allows for switch compatibility but new game can’t fit in switchs’ cartridge slot 7” version sold for $349, with a mini version(5.5”) that have LCD for $299 From factor/gimmicks: A screen and 2 joy-con similar to the switch The joy-con is modified to remove joy-con drift as well as the addition of pointer control The new joy-con have a mechanism to swap out the directional button for a D-pad(included) and swap out the main button for a GCN layout(layout piece sold separately) The switch screen also have a piece of slide rail at the top, allowing the new dock(which is sliced into) to show the screen of the switch The top slide rail of the attach & switch can also let the switch ‘attach’ other accessories(sold separately) e.g. A screen accessories to put on top of it for a DS-like experience but can also be held separately with plugged in joy-con for a more Wii U like one A front/rear camera + microphone accessories allows for AR stuff but also can be used separately with the kickstand for motion tracking/allowing the game to work when docked A 3D screen accessories for everything the regular screen accessories do but also have a 3D slider to allow for stereoscopic 3D A plastic piece allows for VR experience(not as great as PS/Xbox) Software/Switch Online: Street pass is coming back, this time used the joy-con to track steps and stuff using the motion sensor The attach & switch have more software features like Wii, Wii U, DSi and 3DS A photo app for some photo editing A sound app for play around with recorded audio A world news app similar to the Wii A weather app A camera app Mytendo: a upgraded Mii with clothing support Nintendoverse: Nintendo’s take on the metaverse, which allows for interaction for your Mytendo and also chat with others with picture, share flip note and have game community.
