The Z32 did not have "reliability issues" that led to its demise! Those cars were very reliable! It was the $44K price tag IN 1996!!!...that led to its demise. Same with the real Supra, RX-7, and 3000GT VR-4. They were all priced in the $40Ks in their final years (mid to late 1990s). The Camaro and Mustang are doing the same thing now. They're going to price themselves out of the market...especially in TODAY'S economy.

You can get a v8 mustang or camaro for around $40,000 right now. that's crazy those cars you mention were going for that much two decades ago?! No wonder hardly anyone had them.

ALL TRUTH BEING TOLD HERE. I Stayed In My 5.0 GT During College And I Was Happy. My Parents Couldn't Afford My Dream Car At That Time ('93 Toyota Supra). The Price Tag Was Indeed Too Much For Many True Car Enthusiasts 👌🏿.

These days I am a very hard core Mopar driver, but over 10 years ago my first car was a 1992 300ZX and I will always regard every car stamped with the Z badge very fondly. It was a truly special car to have at a very special time in my life

Don't recall the 300zx Z32 having reliability issues at all... and I own one. It was 40-50k in the 90s which made it a hard sell and maintenance was as pricey as a vette.
@stevenmitchell6347
@stevenmitchell6347 Год назад
Reliability was NEVER an issue for the Z32! I have a 1990 Z32, 2+2, NA, 5spd, and STILL no issues! I do plan on doing a V8 upgrade, engine yet to be determined, 6spd, and stronger rear diff. This is because I can, NOT because I "need" to. It was the high price and HICAS rear steering that "killed" the Z in the U.S. market in 1996. It continued to be manufactured and sold in other markets until the 350Z was introduced. I consider my Z32 to be the best handling of all the cars I've ever driven, and that includes Lotus, Porsche, Ferrari, Corvette, Maserati, Lamborghini, and dozens of other makes and models. The multi-link suspension is a masterpiece of engineering. IMO

The Z32 had two engine configurations. (You gave the stats of the twin turbo 4th gen Z32 under the 3rd generation Z31 section of the video). The Z32 had he Naturally Aspirated 222hp V6 that you mentioned and the twin turbo v6 that put out 300 horses and 283lb ft of torque on paper but more in reality. You can quickly tell the twin turbo apart from the NA by looking for the vents at the bottom corners of the front bumper. If the hood is open you will see 2 charge pipes leading to the plenum for the NA and 4 for the twin turbo. You can also tell them apart by looking at the owner…awesome looking is the NA owner…awesome looking with chest hair is the twin turbo owner. Edit: great video though, thank you and please keep it up!

I bought a new 370Z 6MT sport pkg model in Magnetic Black and have used it as a daily driver for the last 4 1/2 years with no problems whatsoever. I put some minor performance upgrades on the car like: stiffer Hotchkis front and rear anti-roll bars, stainless steel braided brake lines, a Stillen Gen 3 long tube cold air intake, a Fast Intentions dual x-pipe cat back exhaust and an EcuTek dyno tune done on 94 octane gas. We estimate the peak crankshaft horsepower to be about 376 with a nearly flat torque curve across the rev range that is about 15% greater than stock. Future plans include an oil cooler, shedding about 200lbs of weight and corner balancing with suspension tuning. The car is a blast to drive and puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. I had a two-stage polishing done on the clearcoat with a silicon carbide ceramic coating done shortly after I got the car. It has brought out the glossy black finish, making it look very deep and wet. The coating also repels dirt and contaminants and makes it much easier to clean the car, making it look as if it has just been waxed.

Cool, nice one dude, I got a 2008 350GT Skyline, and did muffler delete last week so far, the sound from the exhaust of the VQHR is amazing!!😅 any recommendations for increasing hp please?
@videomaniac108
@videomaniac108 Год назад
@@AnupKumar-ru1ee It's hard to get much of a hp increase from the VQ engine if you stay NA, as the engine has been highly developed by Nissan. Other than removing exhaust and intake restrictions and getting a dyno tube, there's not much to work with. If you go with a supercharger kit you could get some significant gains.

The sales of Z32 in North America ended in 1996 but still in production in Japan until 2000.
@domjohnson8723
@domjohnson8723 Год назад
You forgot about the twin turbo 300ZX, which produces "276" hp. Also, production of the car ended in 1998, not 1996. And there was a Z32 convertible.

In 2007 my best friend had a Z32. It wasn't unreliable per se, but when something did break it was crazy expensive to fix. And the engine looked like a freaking android so no local mechanics wanted to touch it.
