In this video, I am finally back on the trail, walking the Norfolk Coastal Path. Setting off from the port of Wells-next-the-sea, I head eastwards toward Cromer, passing the pretty villages of Stiffkey, Brancaster and Cley-next-the-sea, stunning salt marshes and many relics from our military defensive past, before enduring a long and tiring stretch along the seemingly endless shingle beach.
Tired and sore, I stop and set up a simple tarp and bivi shelter on the beach - home for the night.
After a well earned dinner and some time to relax I turn in to the sound of the wind and the waves crashing on the shore. A good nights sleep is needed - tomorrow brings more miles!
I would like to apologise for the deterioration in picture and sound quality during the video - my camera had an unfortunate encounter with the North Sea and gave up the ghost. I filmed the remainder of the video on my phone and GoPro, neither of which have good audio.
Part two sees me completing this leg of the trail, past old anti aircraft batteries, bunkers and anti tank defences, up and over the cliffs into the town of Sheringham and finally on to the old pier at Cromer.
Cromer marks the half way point of the extended Norfolk Coastal Path - I will be back to continue another day (I’ll try not to leave it too long this time!)
I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!
