Check out @Brew2L Vlogs video Notchback Vs Hatchback • NOTCHBACK VS HATCHBACK... / ksdnotch / blueovalmedia / blueovalmedia @KSDNOTCH build before I had Blue Oval Media ru-vid.com?list...
I can’t deny that’s the best looking celebrity I’ve ever seen👌.... for real though, you definitely spoke the truth on the value and if I could find one at a decent price I’d own another one. Much love brother🙏 enjoyed the video as always
I'm weaaaakkkk you still called it a celebrity LOL. You did a great job on that video and you know you are one of the Goats out here. Just make sure when you are grocery shopping on those hatchbacks to park your car far way in the lot.
@@BuiltVSBought HATCHBACKS can do it all...from getting groceries to getting it done in the streets💪 I appreciate the love brother that’s a nasty ass notch ain’t even gonna lie 💯🔥
You two got me rolling 😂. But for real tho, all the mention of GTs, LXs and Verts, Where’s the TTop love! ❤️ All in fun, good to see fellow enthusiasts not be too sensitive. Yall keep doing what you do 😉 Much love and support 🤙🏻
You hit the nail on the head on this video. Your comment about coupes getting more attention at car shows is so true. I know this because it happens to me all the time. I own 3 Foxes. Two of them are hatches and one is a coupe. All 3 cars are in great shape and present themselves equally well. My coupe however gets easily 2x more thumbs up and more compliments any where I go (gas station, store parking lot, red lights, etc.) I have some friends that are into different types of cars and they only like the coupe Foxes. I'm like you I love both body styles but there's no denying the coupe is indeed "The Ace".
I like the look of the hatch better but when you make them you're own and customize them you can make either look better just depends on what is done to them but with a hatch you don't have to take out a second mortgage on your house to get one. If I want a car for an investment notch to have fun and drive hatch and don't care for convertible at all have to be really cheap but I do agree with what you say about value and desirability.
Great video man great entertainment and a lot of truths there in value I do love me my hatchback though I got a special place for the notchback to but personal preference like you said I'm not too worried about the value on mine though because I don't plan on selling it it's going to stay forever my daughter will get it next once it's time keep the content coming love the channel bro🤘🔥💯
Great car, great video, and right on the money! I bought my black 5.0 5-speed notch new in '89. Until 10 years ago, nobody paid it any attention. Now I can't go anywhere without someone trying to buy it.
I’ve had a black on black hatch for 20 years. I lost it to a bad accident. The next one I bought was a Notch! All I can say is SHOWSTOPPER!!! I love them all but the Notch is a step above. You killed me with the cheese grater bro!! Great video and much love!
As a Gen-Z car enthusiast who grew up seeing the SN-95 and later "semi-fastback" roof line as the Mustang norm, the hatchback was the hook that reeled me into the Fox camp. Hatch Foxes (with a spoiler, obviously, and particularly with ground-effects) have a more palatable and common 1980's sports car aesthetic, whereas notches are more of an acquired taste that comes only after growing to appreciate the simple and boxy lines unique only to the Fox--but its just that uniqueness that will make them ravenously sought after. Ultimately, cleaned up notches offer a more distinctive "Pony" styling that can neither be compared to its contemporaries or any Mustang that came before or after it. Just as the red and white tri-five Chevy, or the black '32 Ford roadster with a flaming front end have became timeless archetypes of car culture, The clean Calypso, black, or Reef Blue notch rolling on a set of 5-spokes will be an icon long after the generation that initially enjoyed them has past. That said, I'm currently using an LX hatch for my widebody 'Yote-swap build and wouldn't have it any other way!
Now that I think about it, Camaros and Firebirds were hatches too. Funny thing is that when I was a kid one guy down my street owned a SN-95 and the guy behind him owned a Fox convertible. I saw very few notchbacks growing up in the 90’s. Being loud in style was the thing and the Notchback just wasn’t. It blended in when new and to my surprise aged well
I have a 89 lx convertible that i love driving around town but you are right on the attention part, every time i drove my 90 coupe i would get alot of thumbs up and people wanting to buy it, it's currently having a coyote swap done to it and man i cant wait to drive that mf again. Great channel btw
I just saved a 92 notch, it was calypso green. Now its leadfoot grey. I'm 90% done with it and I can't even get gas without some one stopping me about it. I also have 2014 gt500 and believe it or not the notch gets more love . Keep up the good work.
The Notch has been trending, but for me . Born in 71, I have a completely different image of the sedan mustang. EXAMPLE: 1988 they made 55,000 sedans and 120,000 Hatch. But only 5,000 of the sedans had a V8. So, if you saw a notch back, it was a 4 cyl, hubcap wearing grandma car. The best FOX is the LX hatch 5.0 5spd with GT interior.
I like all fox bodys I've had them all coupe to hatch but I'm more of a hatch guy. But right now I'm cruising a 1980 fairmont wagon built 306 tko 5speed blast to drive
Hell yea..... I agree I have had 6 hatch LX ,s and 2 GT’s..... But when I got my first notch that when people was coming to me wanted to buy the car so it is a difference for sure ... Love all my Fox body mustangs for sure..... But that notch got that special spot....
Being an 85 gt vert owner im just going to watch from the outside 😄 i will say that my taillights have a straight face no smile 😐 drop the top go to any retail store and can put my bags in the car faster than any hatch or notch 🤔 and lastly my only issue with verts or notches is they don't have a booty aside from adding a spoiler. I've owned every body style but now im down to a vert and hatch. I will get another notch and yes they all are nice. So let's put differences aside and go eat some chevys 😎
Roflmao. I fell out my chair when you pulled out the cheese grater!!!!. I grew up in the 90s and have always loved and owned Fox bodies, AND I DON'T CARE WHO YOU ARE, whether you love notchbacks, convertibles, hardtops GT, LX doesn't matter everybody and their mama took off them damn cheese grater lights and slapped on the LX lights!!!!..........oh and technically the verts came from a notch
I've only owned foxbodys until 2014. But my hatch is an 84GT without ground effects and without the cheese grader taillights! It may be a 4 eyed nerd but its my favorite because I've owned it for so long 25+yrs. I bought my wife a Super clean 93 Notch that I completely set up for her with a mildly built 93 cobra motor, a PA C4 Tran's and so on. She wanted it painted Ford GT Red with a black interior.
This is to funny, Blue Oval and BREW2L are my favorite fox channels, gotta give it to Blue Oval notch is a dream car, but in the beginning I was all hatch I actually have a 90 GT and a 90 LX 5.0 hatch, I'm dying to find a nice notch but at the same time I'm never getting rid of my 90 LX Hatch, much love for all the content
I agree with everything you said, plain & simple. I have an 88 GT convertible now and I really like it, & I'm not a convert.guy, and out of all the cars I've owned which is a lot I regret selling my 87 notch. Anyway good video brother & I can't believe I haven't seen you at any shows this year. 🇺🇸
Mr. Kenneth Sean got me to get three Foxbody Notchback because I was just a 1993 Ford Mustang GT sorta guy. Now we have three notchback, two 1993, one 1986 at the house of Mcscgreenwheels! Great video sir. The value of notchback in 2020 is freaking insane, even a clean roller is bringing good $$$$ money, even a freaking 4 cylinder clean rust free is bringing money.
Notchback is and will always be, the Ace. Love your car brother - my black ‘87 is real clean with low miles, but you know I envy that black tweed interior!
Awesome video! 18k for yours!!! You go bro! Now, I gotta found a decent notchback as soon as possible. I've seen one for sale on Facebook for $4000. The thing got rust on the body and 4 cylinder.
Shots fired brew2l...balls in your court brother! Lol this is good. Friendly competition is good. I think yall should race honestly but thats just me. Anyone think they should race???
The Fox body, especially the notch owes a lot to the 1973 Mercedes 450 SLC... the side louvers (4 eyes).... and the strangely unique curved rear glass on notchbacks. There's an official Ford promo on here comparing the 79 notch to the 450 SLC. I hate to say this, but the whole thing had the sentiment of "We know we (Ford) don't make very good cars , but this Mustang looks like a Mercedes, please at least try it."... yeah it was 70's reliability LOL. I'm still partial to the GT and Cobra, but they should've put the SVO tails on GTs stock.
Why do ppl hate on the lx convertible? They’re just heavy ass notch backs when the top is up😂😂. I love my 93 lx vert. I’ve owned all 3 bodies and yes the notch was the most fun.
I agree with the notchback being a better Fox. After owning 20 plus GT's. lx's and notchbacks. After 22 years. Three notches in my garage at the moment. 2 Street strip. 1. 10.5 tire drag car Also I am not going to the grocery store in my foxbody. To buy cheese for those ugly cheese grater tail lights...
Gotta admit this was a good one! I love all foxbody mustangs and snap my neck every time I see one but, I have to say that I get far more positive reactions from my notch versus my hatch (cheese graters)🧐😂 Keep the great videos coming!
Notches are what commands top dollar, for some that what they want, some people ain't got it Quite like that so they gravitate towards hatches, if you really ain't got like that you go to non-fox 5.0l platforms like I did I recently bought another 1993 thunderbird lx my old one was black w/ red interior, this one's electric currant red exterior/opal gray interior, but other than it being heavier than a fox I got the same legendary 5.0 SBF power with IRS suspension out back similar to new edge Cobras. That's why as soon as I had enough cash to not be on foot again I bought another. I might be low on the blue oval totem pole w/ a T-bird but I love my bird
NotchBack on any condition is worth 💵 more . sentimental or not , worth more. I had 2 hatch & 2 notch + 1 convertible .. Sold last one back 2003 . im 40 n i miss fox always in my 💙. Im Ls guy now camaro .
Oh my God. You and Brew starting a family feud. LoL. The real enemy comes with a bowtie or horns on it. Besides you guys just turning guys heads with those Notches and Hatches. Our verts turn girls heads.
That comment like saying lebron better the #23! All in good fun!! Both have great channel 👍 in my town the notch was the car to have back in the 90s we were all about A to B
Man I've had several GT's and LX hatchbacks and spent months looking for a good clean coupe finally picked up an '89 LX hatch but trust me if a NICE coupe came up for trade....oh ya it would be on lol. There is just something about a well set up coupe, cowl hood, tinted windows man setting still they just look MEAN. One day lol one day
yeah..the lite-weight notch is nice...perfect platform for a cayon carver with a sweet meaty square tire/wheel set-up...but the GT hatch is a much sleeker looking car..so,yeah...#GT
Same argument could be said about C5 Corvettes. Which is better car FRC or Coupe? FRC was used for Z06 variant because the bean counters at GM had to make back the tooling costs on the C5 "notchbacks" since they were not selling until they dropped Z06 package.
Shout out to the Blue Oval Media! ....man you got me fired up, been trying to figure out the hot rod project I want for myself. I grew up Mopar, can't afford it... but my dad was a Ford man. I test drove a brand new SVO in 86 and fell in love with the Foxes. But I got to tell you I love the conservative look of the notch.... It has to be a notch! Even though it was an officer in a notch lx that gave me my most expensive ticket earned when I was on my bike, I still will go notch! Lol. Hate the Cop not the notch! Just joking.... Lol. Your notch is Swweeeet, I'm not a black car guy but..... Yours is hot, great stance and tire fitment. Great eye young man. I'm look for one now Peace and Blessings
I have almost the same story. My most expensive ticket came from a State Trooper that drove a notch back 5.0 . He was going in the opposite direction on the highway. He got off at the next exit and literally ran me down. I always kept my eyes open for State Troopers driving those catch cars. Smh I respected and loved the 5.0 notchback from that day on. Thirty years later I walk into the garage, look at my black on black notch and smile. The feeling I get is like a kid in a candy store with a pocket full of money. Lol ✔
Lol... I should hate them but I started looking on Craigslist for one.... Sshhhh, don't tell the police. I wonder what that 7.3 crate motor is going to cost... Need to open a go fund me account!
Tell me about it , I want a notch but I might have to go a different way. Cause all the money I've sunk into other parts I need a near perfect car but damn I wasn't prepared to buy a brand new car 😓
I backed my truck into the back of my GT early on a foggy morning about 5years ago. Luckily I only broke the (cheese graders) on the drivers side.... so it was time to update to the lx lights and I was ok with that. It was for the best. But come on .. we don’t really need to talk much about the convertibles do we?
Im probably in the minority here and probably a little biased because i own one but I like the lx hatchback the best to me it's the best of both worlds its got the clean look of the notchback and the hatchback of the gt but you can't go wrong with any foxbody if you own one your winning
In 93 they actually made more LX coupes than they did convertibles. LX and GT’s. Just barely but most of the Aero headlight years coupe numbers are very similar to LX convertible and GT convertible. According to LMR’s production numbers on their website. Either way the hatchback cars had many many more of them made. When I was growing up the GT was the car to have from what I remember. I do like them all though.
So 87-93 they made 48,599 5.0 coupes. 48,366 LX convertible 5.0. Almost the exact same numbers. Just 233 more coupes were made. Total of 81,488 GT convertibles though 87-93 but low numbers 91-93
@@elliottbutts153 The problem is that you are comparing the coupe to just 1 style of convertible as if there is a GT Coupe. Less coupes were made than convertibles period. Just like more hatchbacks were made than convertibles. This proves my point even more, the notch was in a class all by itself.
@@BuiltVSBought And she's an absolute beauty or as you called her... An ace! There's only one I can find for sale in Canada... It's a roach and they guy wants 25k and he'll get it too. (I have a GT this video was awesome!)
