This video made me go look for my dad's old walkman , the exact same one shown in the video and yup , right there , annoying recordings of 6 year old me :')
Reminds me of Onfim, a boy who lived in now-Russia in the 1200s. We have uncovered his drawings and homework assignments, and it is the most fascinating thing to me. It's unimportant, but it really shows we are all human, no matter the time period
@@Fennexin sometimes its hard to truly accept that the past had actual people who were actually alive then, rather than just this idea of people of the past. It’s eerie but also quite cool, just a micro view into someone’s life, makes it seem more real than just “the 1500’s happened” lol
Totally, its the digital version of buying an old second hand book and finding a decades old note written in the front, or an ancient recipt being used as bookmark. Love that kind of thing.
I love how he just goes "Ew! It's still trying to live!" with the poor-battery nuggets like they're bugs he just smashed and they just won't stop twitching
whenever dankpods goes "ewwww" when a nugget doesnt power off immediately its the same vibe as someone whos just seen a cockroach have its head ripped off and still run around
Seeing the word "Favouritests" in massive Comic Sans, dressed in all checkered plaid, and proceeding to fly towards the screen not just once but multiple times simultaneously is one of the most intimidating things I have ever witnessed.
I am 90% sure that that “Dominic Dominic Dominic” recording was made by me as a child. We had a box of nugget-ish stuff that we got from our family friends, and my brother and I would always record stuff like that onto the devices before giving them away. The voice even matches mine at that age. 😅
One day, we will come full circle, and someone who is watching the Lucky Nugget Dank Dip Extravaganza will find their old nugget with their old recordings. James will laugh at them, they'll say "give me back my nugget" in the comments, and the prophecy will be fulfilled.
Imagine if someone like a politician or a government official used a nugget to record top secret stuff and then like 11 years later DankPods played it on RU-vid and like top government secrets went public because of it
He said back on Garbage Time that he would be editing with Final Cut Pro from now on. I like it! So much more text styles now. This will mark a new era in Dank History for sure. So many nuggets!
I would imagine on an M1 Mac, especially the new models they just released, it would scream ahead of the competition for compatibly priced workstations for video editing. Seeing one in person scrub through multiples streams of 8K video simultaneously without breaking a sweat is pretty incredible. Adobe seems to take forever to optimize their software while knocking out any major bugs. Hell, multiple times I’ve experienced when they knock out major project stopping bugs and introduce new ones.
Literally was about to comment that. That would be the best, imagine watching a nugget dip and being confronted with yourself screaming WHOA 20 times about 11 years ago xD
I’d just like to point out that “Dansrue” means “inside road” in French (if you completely ignore all grammar rules) which is very fitting because the screen looks like it had been run over by a semi-truck
Imagine if Dominic sees this video. By the pitch of the voice, I'd say he's about ten years old in that recording, and the recording was saved in 2009, so Dominic has to be around 23 now.
Fun fact of the day: Dankpods got me into System of a Down from THIS video... I watched, was curious why he was so excited, realised why he was so excited. Now have one album on vinyl, all 5 albums on my regular Spotify rotation and will soon own every album on vinyl and cd. Thank you Mr Dankothy Podus for educating the masses. Nearly 2 years on and my love for the band has only grown, and I feel like I'm no where near done growing babyyyyyyy
7:07 All MP3 players do this. It's less efficient to have the player rifling through the files every time it displays your library, so to save time, it creates an index table of all playable files on the drive, containing the file's tag metadata (song name, artist name, album name, track number, etc.), length, and a reference to the actual file. iPods get around this by having iTunes build the library file for them.
Well 4:17 a special surprise in Czech but i like u got that near those countries no one knows they exist and if they do they think it's Československo XD
5:40 oh shit i had one of those!! Genuinely one of the better mp3 players ive ever had, never got the video function to work, but that may have been because i was 12 lmao
It may be my dead name but holy crap that voice recording made me think “that sounds like the kind of shit I did with my 3DS back when it worked”. Now the name “Dominic” is gonna be in the DankPods lore forever lmao
I had one of those Walkman MP3 players, and honestly, it was one of the most durable little shits I've ever had in my pocket. And the screen on mine wasn't dull, it was blindingly bright.
I've had my walkman for around 12 years. The body is all fucked up and broken but it still works perfectly fine. I never had an iPod, but I'm sure it was comparable. I took that thing everywhere.
I’ve been binging your channel for a week now, you’ve more than earned my subscription, I’m not as much as an audiophile as you but I do enjoy music quite often, but besides that you are absolutely hilarious and your videos always make me bust out laughing
That Philips was in Czech! I speak Czech! I also wonder how a Czech-speaking nugget ends up in Aussie land. Or how does an Aussie nugget owner accidentally set their nugget to Czech.
It's so fun seeing your childhood MP3 players in Nugget Lucky Dips. The Sansa clickwheel nugget from the previous lucky dip was the first MP3 player I used in any major capacity, and the Philips nugget from this video got me through middle school. This video was like the Leo DiCaprio pointing at the screen meme for me.
With these weird butt dial sounds, we're going to find out some day that Dank is actually a time traveler of some manner and he went back in time to give himself clues to an ARG to save the future.
That blue Sony Walkman looks almost the same as the one I have. Found it back in a box of old stuff. I'm really surprised how that thing still worked, and still had decent battery charge. I'm using it now every so often and still works like a charm.
I've got a recent Sony Walkman and it STILL does the 'creating library' step when you disconnect USB. I think it should more accurately state 'Delaying your experience' instead...
