I think it’s hard to appreciate how individualized the experience is. This isn’t an area where you can say “if you can meet this metric or check these boxes, companies are hiring people like you right now”. Even when you’re properly trained and equipped, you never know when you’ll actually cross paths with a client who likes your sound and has a job they’re hiring for, today, that they want you to use your sound on. Maybe it will take a while to cross paths. Maybe it’ll happen quickly. But maybe the ones who have a job for you, today, won’t have another one for you for years. And if you’re new and don’t have any training, there’s the risk that something in your technique or technology means you’re not ready to try crossing paths with potential customers. So you can end up going around, not getting any traction, not knowing if you just haven’t met the right customer, yet, or if there’s a problem with you. Coaching can help you answer this question and resolve issues on your end.
