You can't dream up a more scenic drive than the Going-to-the-Sun Road at Glacier National Park. We knew it was going to be spectacular but even that doesn't say enough. Have you been to Glacier and driven this epic road?
Chris and Suzannah, Going-to-the-Sun Road is one of our favorite drives. Glacier National Park is a must-see park. Shelley and I plan on getting back there to do more hiking and photography. Thank you for sharing. Peace and Safe Travels.
Glacier National Park is my favorite. Love the area. Usually spend a couple weeks every year in Whitefish, MT. That's a really nice KOA too. Awesome video. Loved all the footage. Well done!
We didn't spend any time in Whitefish but wish we had. It looks like a great place to visit, relax, and maybe pick up fly fishing again. Thanks for the kind words and we hope you're staying warm up there! -Chris & Suzannah
Keep your eyes on the road and pull over to look, please. The road is not forgiving of mistakes. You were at 2 Med on a calm day. It can get really windy there.
Our timing to be in that area is about a month too early for the Sun Road. Is it worth it to drive up to the Lodge and see Lake McDonald? We hate to be so close and not get to see any of it.
It is worth it! Lake McDonald doesn’t freeze so you should still get some great views. We would recommend driving both sides of Lake McDonald if you have the time. If you go on the South or West side of the lake you’ll get views of the mountains with the lake in foreground. Then swing back around to the East side and work your way up to the lodge after. You should still be able to go part way on the road. Maybe out to the Cedars and to McDonald Falls. Maybe bundle up and catch a sunrise or sunset!! Good luck!
