@@AmazingChi Hes laughing when he isnt supposed to be laughing, this is why he hides it, otherwise he would just laugh. Regardless, I don't think Jim would laugh, he tends to make situations worse, as in, more awkward, to make people laugh and he does that by pretending to be serious. How often do you see him visibly or audibly laughing at Michael, Andy, Dwight, etc? For example, the whole 'prison Mike' bit, he is intentionally not laughing and asks serious questions in an effort to be funny. What makes the moment funny is that everyone is disturbed by it, Michael notices and quickly backtracks. The whole show is cringe humor so the awkwardness is what's so funny about the majority of the bits. Edit: I realize this comment makes me sound like a crazy fan and like I'm taking it way too seriously... I hope I dont sound rude lol I was just explaining why I thought Jim wouldnt laugh but either way, just watching him trying to hide his laugh cracks me up.

And to be fair to Jim, the character, at the moment John's breaking (he is 100% breaking, that's not a debate) it's when Michael is confronting Toby, which is just funny. I wouldn't blame him if he did want to laugh there.

It's funny, I used to have a commercial cleaning business, and you'd be surprised to know that a fair number of Ladie's restrooms do indeed have couches inside them. Some are set up almost like a little living room. Usually in bigger more expensive type of office buildings.
Michael "driving the right way on the highway but grinding on the wall the whole time" is a great way of describing his character, nice job fancy Micky
oh yeah, fancy women's restrooms are definitely a thing and are awesome. you'll find them especially at places like wedding venues and the like. i also think it comes from women's bathrooms just generally being cleaner and/or larger, too

I think the first time I'd heard of a couch being in the women's restroom was from _Boy Meets World_ where Topanga explained to Cory & Shawn that "sometimes girls need to just lie down."

7:41 I think this was in the original cut of the episode. It was a longer than usual cut. The people making the Office were always trying to talk the network into letting make longer cuts of the show. It might not have been in cuts for syndication, but I'm not sure.

It's kinda obvious that female abuse is taken more seriously. Just look at how much everyone was laughing when Michael was talking about it with the women. If it was Pam saying what Roy did to her, there would be no laughter.
