I met up with a girl from tinder when I was 20, I was under the impression she was 19. I picked her up at her place, met her roommate; We went out, had a good time. Drove around just talking for almost 5 hours. At the end of the date while I was taking her back to her apartment (remember that she rented with a friend, other side info, was under the impression she was in a school for a GDP because the school she went to had highschool- college level classes and was mostly for troubled students or young adults looking for a GDP. ). So dropping her off, I give her a kiss. Then the bombshells, 'I have to be honest with you, I'm only 17 but dont worry I turn 18 February! " (this was in October) she also let me know that the age of consent in our state was 16. Which is true. *rambling * I stayed with her, a 3 year difference is within my limit. She didnt live with her parents, she had a job and did photograph on the side, was a fan of doctor who, enjoyed wine and cheese. This is great, this is fine, shes a little young but hey, I had graduated highschool the year before at 19. So I too was still young. It went well for a while, she'd spend nights over with me at my parents (I slept on the couch for the first couple times until she asked me to join her). Several times she'd get some bud/ weed for us and I'd get a college buddy to get me some wine/ booze. We'd have charcuterie nights, watch nerdy TV, talk, cuddle and then go to bed. What's the point of this story, she cheated on me and said lies about me on social media, threatened to burn my belongings; I asked her to stop, she said no... I told her friends, parents and the guys baby momma. He sent me some threatening messages and she blocked me. So more pettiness, I logged in to her Facebook account, unblocked myself, deleted all of my messages, pictures (nothing inappropriate), and deleted the negative post along with a number of incriminating messages between her and loverboy that included hard drug use, and helping her get a tattoo. This all happened in the course of 2 weeks, late December, early January. Me and some friends went to her parents to pick up my things because her mother promised to get them back for me she also apologized. And that was that.... not. 3 days before her 18th birthday I got a call from the PD. Long story short, she called rape but when questioned she said that when I asked she said yes, but she really ment no in her head. She also admitted that she initiated relations between us before and after that event. Since my story matched but I'm not a kind reader so I heard "yes" are you sure "yes, I want to do it". No criminal charges but the detective did tell me I needed better taste in women. 2 months after that bs child protective services filed I civil suit against me. I couldn't afford a lawyer to fight it. They claimed I was an abuser because of the wine during charcuterie nights. She was not the one pressing charges, it was on behalf of the state. When bringing up that she was the age of consent at the time and i wasnt even 21 at that time i was told it didnt matter and it was on the same lines of abusing a 5 year old. I'm not on a registry, but I cant work with children (not that I want to, I work in the defense/ electronics division. Had to get and pass a deep background check in order to get the job. I did) I have 1 more year before I can have it permanently removed. 3k$ fines to do so though. It's not public, it will only show up if a school or a business that works with children, the handicapped, the at risk, or a government department run a background check on me. 1 month and a half after that she made a new snapchat and sent me a message apologizing for everything. I told her to leave me alone. Blocked her and told the detectives, and CPS. The police/ detectives thought what CPS was BS. They were pretty sure they were attempting to make an example out of me. CPS didnt care about the unwarranted message she sent me apologizing. Apparently it could of been a lie or trick. I dont consider that even to make me pedo, I dont like kids, I do like petite body types and small breast but that because as it turns out. I like men more than I thought. I also like things up the backend. I know I should of broken things off the second she told me she lied about her age, it's a crazy excuse but I was in a bad place and at the time I'd do anything for support, love or kindness. If you think that a 20 year old dating a 17 year old is wrong that's more than fair. It's a regrettable situation that happened 4 years ago now. I'm not looking for support or for people to commend/ attack anyone involved. I dont mind hearing opinions are y'all are entitled to them. I just wanted to share a personal experience that I usually cant talk about

I think nobody deserves to die, simply because it's proven that most people can be reformed. The reason why Norway's prison system is so successful is that inmates are treated as humans and patients. And even if we know for a fact that the inmate is an absolute monster (like the guy who killed students on that island), it is necessary to show to everyone that we stand to our morals and standards. Just killing people for crimes won't change a thing. There are still 50+ countries that allow capital punishment. Is the crime rate low because of it? No.
