The thumbnail honestly gave me great memories of the movie “Surfs Up”, I think we can all agree that Surfs Up was a underrated classic!

Never thought we see EmpLemon in the Podcast with Charlie. His YTP Videos were always my favorites to watch.

I don't understand why they just entirely skipped the poop segment for this episode. It is an absolutely essential part of the podcast that I was looking forward to and I've never been more disappointed in my entire life.

My dads friend is in the navy. While he was still in training, him and 4 other men had a kind of sailing training mission (I’m forgetting the exact goal) where they had to use a normal boat with sails and rows and stuff. Everything was going well and they reached the point that they were supposed to and started to sail back to the dock, but there was this huuuge, giant storm that came through, the boat nearly capsized like 3 times if I remember correctly. They got pushed really far out to sea and since the storm was spinning them around so much, they lost all sense of direction. They were supposed to be back like 5 hours ago, so the base sent a ship to go find his squad. They saw the ship and got really excited. They had two types of flares- red and green. Red means something’s wrong and they need help and green meant that all was well and the ship could head back to shore. I’m forgetting the exact reason why it happened, but they lost the red flare in some chaos and didn’t notice. They lit the green flare thinking it was red and the ship saw this. Also, flares have their own oxidisers, so they couldn’t really just put it out in water. The ship saw the green flare and started heading back to shore. This lead to another 4-5 hours of desperately trying to keep their boat afloat. Finally, the base acknowledged that something was wrong. By this time the squad had given up, they started confessing all their sins and telling each other things they hid from each other. Then they saw the ship. Immediately they were overjoyed (obviously). But. The issue was they no longer had any flares. All they had was a flashlight. So they took down their main sail and secured the flashlight onto the mast. They desperately tried to signal to the ship and finally, the ship saw them. They were taken aboard and given warm beds and a hot meal. There’s a photo of all five of them, still huddled together in sleeping bags and blankets, drinking beers. Safe to say, my dads friend is a certified badass.

Love Surf's Up. Just one of those super fun movies I remember watching as a kid, like Scott Pilgrim, Sorcerer's Apprentice and Transformers 1. Might not be A-Grade Cinema but very fun to watch

talking about people falling overboard, a channel called brick immortar makes great video documentaries of ships that end up lost at sea, and something that's common between every incident is that it takes days to locate the remnants of a ship even if it sends their last coordinates, and still hours to find survivors on a bright orange lifeboat with a device pinging their location, imagine being a single person who falls overboard with nothing to signal your location, and nothing bright to make you stand out against the ocean for rescuers, absolutely terrifying and I get why it's usually a death sentence

I used to work in Breckenridge as a lifty on the zendo and kensho lifts. Kensho lift was 13k feet up. When I got bored I was beyond happy to shovel snow even that high up. Crazy to think the average person can't handle it

That scooby do wwe movie was a childhood favorite for me because we got it from a bargain dvd bin

'The Rundown' is definitely one of The Rock's best films. In the UK, though, it was marketed as 'Welcome to the Jungle' instead. Great movie.

back in the day i had this Surfs Up movie DVD to watch the movie and it also had mini games inside like hide and seek and shit

It takes a cruise ship 1.8 miles to stop (16min). Probably takes another 20min+ to get back to same location. Then you have to guess where the current took them.

Emp is right about how footage and picture don't do a mountain's size any justice. I only visited the base camp of Everest in a VR game, and it was surprising how massive the mountain was. VR is an amazing but not 100% comparison, so I can only imagine how much bigger it looks actually up close.
