Was a fun weekend. A few good bands at least. Offspring and Reel Big Fish were the highlights. Was in October and still hot as hell.. Gotta love Texas weather.
I detested the '90s because I had to go to middle school and high school, but some of the music set a new standard for a lot of people with regards to what "good" music is. The Offspring were one of the best artists that helped to raise the bar. Green Day and Rancid were two others, but there were a lot!
First Offspring song I heard was Pretty Fly, a friend of mine bought me the single for my birthday and this version of All I want was the B side. I remember being totally blown away by the speed and power fell in love with it instantly and had it on repeat constantly. So for me this is the ultimate version of this song. 🤘
The best part is the songs are really easy to play, but are still very fun and good songs. What that means is you get really good live performances (as the one in the video) because the songs only incorporate like 3-5 chords and there isn't a lot of technical mastery required to play them cleanly. Also, they don't rush like a lot of bands do. Live performances are often played significantly faster than the album versions.
I was 10yrs old this was my introduction to fast/punk/rock music. Id never been exposed to it before and without sounding melodramatic it literally altered my life and Iv been rocking out to this music ever since
@@GlycerinZ yeah it’s sad that mtv turned from a actually good music channel but now 16 and pregnant and floribamba shore ruined the day and I rarely seen them play songs
I remember recording this on vhs when I was in middle school and watching it over and over again! MTV sports and music festival and Warped used to be all I looked forward to.
the performance of this song is superb, its almost as good as the album recording, only very experienced bands can perform like this. kudos to Dexter, hes getting on now haha!
@weirdstring You my friend...just saved this quote. This is what people need to understand. Thank you for using your head, not many people realize this until they actually grow up and have to start to have to pay for everything themselves.
I miss this kind of intensity from Dexter's voice. I saw them back on September 29th and his voice was good, it wasn't anywhere near as strong as this. They opened the show with this and he almost sounded bored onstage.
1:25 1:51 Does anyone know of any live videos where actually sings the whole “make seennssssse” part like he does on the album? Every video of it live he stops midway to take a breath
@KerrDogga i disaree with your take on greendays image chance, they matured ans wanted to take a new direction. its not a matter of sellin out, its a matter of doing what they felt artiscticaly inclined to do. painters o thru artisctic phases, as do music artists.
Same here, these guys had something exceptional going. Too bad I was in school when they were just getting going, no money to buy music and no way of looking for it anyway.
I bought the album Americana on casette in 1997 or so, grew up in Riyadh. It was really cool getting to know their music. always gets me back to them good old days!
Amo essa música. Amo essa música. Amo essa música. Amo essa música. Amo essa música. Amo essa música. Amo essa música. Amo essa música. Amo essa música. Amo essa música. Amo essa música. Amo essa música.
if selling out means paying the bills, having money to raise a family and secure their future, then i would sell out any day. funny cause when i was a kid i used to thrash bands by saying that they "sold out". but then i grew up and realized that they just did the same thing...which was growing up
