It's like the average fan can't stand to hear so much about a small market team when the big names are flagging. I mean, sorry the Lakers are looking at a rough exit and Boston took two games to collect themselves, but diminishing OKC's accomplishments here is _super_ petty.
I think the hardest thing that makes it hard to belive is just history. We have seen this before with OKC when they had 3 future MVPs on one team. And they didn’t win so maybe they can be the first young team in a long time. To shake up the nba and go on to dominate. Also Brandon Ingram is breaking my heart
@@t-god2439 Regarding Ingram, that's the thing, though; for me, at least. New Orleans are in no way a bad team, even with Williamson out. You can see the potential there for the future, and I feel as if they're going to at least be in playoff contention for several more years if they can stay healthy. They're simply being outplayed and outcoached by their opponents on every level, which is something I kinda feel should be acknowledged instead of devolving into a pissing match. I grant that history _definitely_ hasn't been kind to these sorts of talks surrounding OKC in the playoffs, but even those '10's teams didn't execute this well. I mean, the current Clipperes are essentially those teams minus Durant, and they're flailing badly against Dallas despite it still being technically competitive. From my view, those old OKC teams didn't have any kind of defensive presence wheras now there's Holmgren and Dort. That _alone_ drastically changes the narrative. Maybe - no, definitely - I wrote too much about this. But this has been the most competitive the West has been in _years,_ and to simply dunk on OKC due to past feelings just comes across to me as people being contrarian simply because OKC is really, honestly just the most fun team to watch right now regardless of everything else. And some people just want to take the piss out of that.
Also, it has to be said OKC’s bench is ridiculous. It’s nothing for on a random night for Joe, Kendrick or Wallace to randomly drop 20 points. Absolutely wild.
@@6manYT Jo Joe is really good defensivly too he was the best player at getting player to charge foul him in the NBA for most of the season. I think the can at least make to conference finals
Sam Presti learned from his mistakes in 2012-14, it’s just not good enough to have a couple superstars and some mid role players. Everyone on OKCs regular rotation can playmake, handle, shoot, and defend at least to the average. Hell our backup big man JWill is known for shooting 3s and making them. Selflessness is another big part of the team, Shai doesn’t get as many touches as you think because we always try to pass the ball around for the best shot. It’s some of the most beautiful basketball I’ve ever watched
I think OKC went 3-1 against both of those teams in the regular season. Doesn’t mean it will be an easy series, but it will be a competitive one. Once we get to the quarterfinals, there’s not a team in the west that I would be surprised if they made the finals. The west is deep af
Shia is getting 25-30 a night, Chet, J Dub, Giddy or Dort can get you 20 on any time as well. Then you got Wallace and Joe on the bench that can get 20 easy. Kendrick and J Will can get hot too. This team has about 10 players that can give you buckets. Oh.. and their defense is better than their offense. Iron sharpens iron and this team is getting ridiculously sharp.
Shai is so good at working leverage on defenders. He sees how his defender is balanced and uses his shiftiness and agile craftiness to attack the defenders weight shift.
Basically both their stars were injured and they almost lost the one game that NO forced them to play half court. Min, Denver and a healthy LA easily mop the floor with them
1st off people keep saying with Zion there we would of lost. The season record goes to us and they had Zion there and we still won 2-1. 1st game we lost 106-110, 2nd game we blew them out 107-83, 3rd game we won 119- 112. So lets stop acting like stop zion was going to be this drastic difference maker because it hasn't been that much of a difference all season. We just match up perfect against them with or without Zion....facts over feelings.
For everyone saying “bUt zIOn iS oUt” - they still went onto a hungry team’s turf and beat that ass by 20+. Twice. As a YOUNG team in their FIRST playoff run. Stop with the disrespect
Y'all are beating on up a team yall likely would have beaten with their best player. This is nothing to beat your chest about. This isn't disrespect it's just a fact. Don't worry OKC will get their chance silence the haters
Good, I’m sick of ball hogs doing anything they want. Okc is playing basketball the way it’s supposed to be played. All nice things to say about okc. Great job guys.
I thank God SGA is with the OKC Thunder…what a PRIZE we’ve been given. JOE & JAYWIL are my “homeboys “…born and raised in DA’ FORT’(ft smith ark)…THUNDER UUUUUUPPPPPP!!!!!!❤🎉😅😊❤
5:12 But but but but but but but we are playing without Zion😂 it doesn't matter the outcome would be the same with or without his big ass so let him rest his refrigerator elbow
Lu Dort has been a massive X factor his defense on BI while refusing to get screened I question how far OKC can go because of their rebounding we deffentley need a backup big who can provide that next year and I also probably want 1 or 2 more wing players so we can kinda do what Minstoda is doing to Phinoex
OKC has pretty solid wings in Wiggins and Kenrich off the bench, and extra guards in Cason and Joe, so I'm not really worried about those spots. I agree though that they are missing an extra big. They need to trust and play JWil more, but the combination of possibly drafting someone like Kyle Filipowski at #12 or finding that type of guy via trade, and Dieng actually developing is enticing. They will also have roughly $40m in cap space, so the possibilities this offseason to get better are pretty endless, for a team already this good. It will be very exciting to see what they do.
@@hestilllives192 I mention the 2 wings because I want a wing rotation like Minstoda has now behind Chet who is an ellite rim protector I think an elite wing rotation with a big man who can actually rebound the basketball is what I think can turn us into one of the most dominant 2 way forces in basketball. It's not that I think we don't have solid wings I just think if we can get 2 more ellite 3 and D guys that's is what is really going to make us really tough
I love the Thunder but they will have problems defeating the Mavs. Keeping it real here the need for big muscular athletic centers is vital to win. Look at the game where they played Mavs with Irving and Luka. OKC got blown away by Mavs lobs, muscular centers, consistently making 3 point shooting and a zoned defense blocking Shai driving into the basket. OKC needs to pay the big bucks and recruit people like Ant man or Gobear on the team. Seriously.
Well they are pretty good at beating a play-in team without its best player. It will be more informative to see what they do against a team that isn't running on empty.
"They're too young!" Yea, ok. Lets see you try to stop SGA. Oh, you did? Nice go stop Chet, Oh wait, Jaylen Williams is there too. Oh man, isiah joe is on the corner!! This team is so complete that I don't think age will matter much. The lack of muscle was a concern but tnat doesnt appear to matter if chet just goes around the bigger guys with speed. Its honestly just fun to watch.
Are we seriously celebrating a one seed beat in eighth seed without their best player this is exactly what they should be doing with that being said I’ll be rooting for them but come on
ESPN is an embarrassment and people need to stop watching it unless it’s an actual game. As far as the shows go watch independent creators and podcasts instead of that shock value trash.
OKC doubters, you just hide in the bushes and watch. The only team that had a better head-to-head record was the Lakers, and they're not making it past Denver. Otherwise, OKC has everyone's number.
Bro we aren’t just beating them 💀 we are about to sweep them and have beaten them by 30 and 20. And don’t say we are the 1 seed so we should sweep them. The Celtics didn’t even sweep the heat who don’t have 3 starters. (Jimmy, Rozier, Josh Richardson)
Is this a written notice? Was there a press conference? Where is this notice... No memo received. They're winning games the same way other teams are sooooo...
I mean..what are you saying about the Boston/Miami series? Boston is absolutely the best team in the league, yet they struggled against a Miami team _also_ missing their best player until the third game in the series. Downplaying OKC while being silent on Boston is absolutely hypocritical.
The Pelicans don't got Zion this video need to chill. The Thunder are beating up on an 8th seed that limped into the playoffs. The Thunder will get a chance to prove themselves in the next round against the Mavs
Stfu because all year they’ve been dismissed. You lazy 2K brain rot fans always got excuses. Thunder are 25 & Under and clinched the 1st seed and is 1 win away from a sweep. You think this is their final form? They got 30 picks until 2030 😂
Toast? Even tho with Zion OKC went 3-1? Despite the media's opinion you are allowed to think they're good. Or wait, let me guess, you can't think beyond Denver, because it's what the media has told you to think. 😆
