The Natchez Trace, also known as The Old Sunken Road is one of the old ancient road on the east of the Mississippi River. A nearly over 500 year road once a traveling importance for The Natchez, Choctaws and Chickasaws, along with other tribes in Mississippi region and later, settlers use the Natchez road to travel from Nashville, TN to New Orleans, LA. This road was once a major factor like our today's interstate roads. After the Civil War, railroads started to build up and other major roads started rise in the late 1890s, cause the Natchez Trace to diminish. Today, there is not much of the old trace, just a a few spots that is visible here and there. @MSBandofChoctawIndians @ChoctawNationOK @MSPublicBroadcasting @natcheztracetravel
