God is good ALL the time... falsely accused of multiple felonious assault with a deadly weapon greater bodily less than murder 3/26... dismissed without prejudice right before Good Friday. hallelujah!! after 3 weeks solitary in the hole on 23 hr lockdown... never once was I alone in that cave, I called it only that and never a cell, didn't know Easter was even that weekend til told...my cave was my tomb and from the very belly of the Beast, in the basement on the farthest south end, last "cave" and the furthest from that front door leading to my freedom. 1st night drifted off asleep for two minutes tops and woke with "green green grass of home" playing in my head... "good people will be set free while the wicked are trapped... ", something like that. 🙏
I truly think the world is a better place because of Johnny Cash and June Carter cashes country music and gospel music thank you June and Johnny you're wonderful. May you rest in peace and may you enjoy singing to our lord Jesus and I father God in heaven amen
Sometimes when my older brother makes me feel ashamed and guilty of my wrongdoings, I quit thinking about the negative feelings and listen to this beautiful church hymn. The point is that I’m not perfect and sometimes I make bad decisions but I don’t need anyone to make me feel ashamed at all. And sometimes I feel like saying something to my older brother saying, “Now look here Jason, You’re in no position to judge me at all. Only God can judge me. If you have problems, work on your own. Instead of making me feel ashamed.”
My Pap took me and my brother to a pentecostal church every Sunday. On the way, he would bellow out, very loud the Old Rugged Cross! Luke1:26 Romans 8:28
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (September 14), we held an outdoor worship service at Dreher Island State Park on Lake Murray. We sang this as the Offertory Hymn. If John 19:17 is a good Scripture for this hymn.
I got to play this on a Hammond C3 organ in the town church as loud as I possibly could on Thursday, it sounded so sweet they had people wandering in off the street to find out what was happening. What a huge privilege to be able to do that.
@@peggyeveritt7778 8 What? @Christopher After Lockdown restrictionst ended, I have been able to play the Hammond for 5 - 8 hours a week. Currently have around 30 hours but I’d like to rack up 100 hours before Christmas to improve my playing. I’ll be happy when I have about 250 hours on it. Because I will be completely comfortable with my music reading, and playing the actual instrument. At the moment I play sufficiently well to be somewhat happy with what comes out but perfection is my goal.
@@christopherpearson1752 - Also, something I’ve learned is that on any of the traditional Hammond organs, you simply don’t have to wring it’s neck to get a sweet sweet sound out of the thing, sometimes spreading it thin and smoothly with expression really makes that thing sing. Whereas, if you try and pull as much noise out of that thing that is possible often does not do it justice. You really get a feeling for whatever you’re playing, and some songs need a really thick and heavy sound, some songs really sound good when you just sprinkle it around, sometimes you’re tap dancing 🕺 on the pedals. As much as it resembles a piano 🎹 keyboard or a synth, it is nothing like it, almost like a completely different instrument. I’ve watched traditional piano players have a go, and it comes out very mechanical and without feeling. The written music is merely a suggestion and a lot of improvisation is required to create music that the listeners enjoy.
I want to dedicate this song to my wonderful Dad, JACK SHAW! I bet his crown is beautiful!!! Luke 1:36 Romans 8:28 Your #1 Daughter Suzanne You wrote that to me on your first 45 record. Proud Mary. I'm So Proud of you,Dad!
Jesus paid the ultimate price! I so glad that "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life". John 3:16
My dad died this April and Johnny Cash was his very favourite singer we listened 24/7 to his songs while my dad was laid dying - my dad loved the Lord also and he has gone to glory and I have no doubt he will be singing with Johnny Cash xxx
Thats love folks; in every sense of the word. Just look at how they look at each other. I was especially touched at Junes lines. Now they are together again with the Lord in paradise.
This is a wonderful song that you don't hear very often, but brings tears to my eyes when I hear it. Was one of my Gramma's favorite and I am sure she is still listening to it.
How come every time I hear Johnny Cash song old hymns I picture a Sunday morning inside a North Texas Cotton county babtist church during the dust bowl years? Thank the good Lord that drought is over!!
He died so that we might live a better life, HE is no longer on that cross, but is our High Priest in the Temple in Heaven, serving as our mediator until HE returns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords to take us to the place HE has prepared for HIS Bride.......
My daugther song this song at her grandfathers funeral , she has and amezing voice, she got a prophecy when she was litle girl that she would sing for full houses and sing gospel songs She touch peopel when she sings often lots of tears she has the gift to touch peoples harts
so beautiful.... what a talented man, lived through all life has to offer, dark and light. the perfect example of a man who went through all hardship to earn gold and give it all up at the end of his road.
Anyone else freaking out that he sang this song at a stadium? Singing about Jesus at a stadium! We need more of these today now more than ever! Now I love sports, but would if we.... #TurnOurStadiumsIntoSanctuaries
The old gospel music is that road that leads the proverbial child back home to God. We all wander astray during our life but the memories of our soul's sweet rest while sinning those old gospel songs leads us back home in troubled times.
Yes, Amen. The Almighty Name still keep the Cross with its signs in His kingdom for us. HalleluYah Elohim for that! Praise be your Name Jesus, Yahuah Yahusha HaMashiach. May God bless America, May God bless Israel and Ierusalim peace, May God bless România.
I believe The Old Rugged Cross and the price that Jesus Paid is the ticket to Land of Hopes and Dreams, in a Bruce Springsteen Song. Here are Johnny and June singing to us beyond the grave and encouraging us to continue on. Because of The Old Rugged Cross and the price that Jesus Paid , we have hope here on Earth as it is, and in Heaven.
My dad loved this song. Use to sing it to us kids put on the ranch. Later, just before he passed over he would sung this to me as i was helping him. Looking to the day, when we will meet again in heave. He belived in Jesus and life eternal. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ. Love to you all here. God bless

My favorite hymn in Spanish and English, no matter the language, the message is clear: Jesus died for ours sins and resurrected. We are His children. 🎹🎼🎤
Each time i would listen to this song “ Old Rugged Cross” it makes me too emotional remembering my late hubby , the song we cling on when he was struggling with COPD . We adore the Blessed Cross , the Cross where our Lord Jesus Christ bear and carry to Calvary to die and redeem us mankind from sins .
Great old song with a message we need today, by two great singers there are many rooms in my fathers mansion, ,Jesus said. Hope to be where all the old folk musicians are........
I met Johnny when I was in Korea he sang for us soldiers and I met him and June at the airport in Bismarck, North Dakota. He is one of my favorite singer’s.
Amen.....Jesus Christ is King:) this is what made Johnny Cash great in my eyes!! From one musician to another who is unashamed to praise the name of the most high....I tip my hat to you sir, and I shall see you in the sky Hallelujah!!!
Amen ! ! . . . and That crown, I will lay at Your Feet, Lord Jesus Christ !! ` The Gospel: "Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures: And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures" 1 Cor.15:1- 4
This great country called the United States in the world have fallen so far away from what God intended us to be that he predicted that eventually we would go to war with each other and that's exactly what we've done we've gone to war with each other
I miss the old days 70s 80s and 90s. Before technology turned into what it is now. It was much simpler times.. i remember Everyday we did the pledge of allegiance at school. An im not 100% sure but i dont even think alot of schools pledge allegiance anymore.. These kids today will never get to live the fun times like most of us 30+ got to live. They are stuck in there video games and all the other technologys society has came out with.
