Amazing and that the Omnishaver just doesn't clog up. I know that you love the Karve (it's my go to razor all of the time too now) but the R1 Calypso looks and sounds so cool that I don't think you should get rid of it as it really does add something to your head shaving videos. I'm tempted to buy a Calypso, keep my Karve and sell just about everything else.
I used to use a HeadBlade and I can vouch for this guy. Going 5 days without shaving and it takes forever to shave your head with a HeadBlade. Since using the Omnishaver, I won't ever use a HeadBlade again The ONLY downside to the Omnishaver is it's difficult to get behind your ears. So, I keep a Gillette on hand for those hard to reach spots. But Omnishaver over the HeadBlade hands down...
When I get the money next month, I am definitely going to order an Omnishaver. Usually, when I shave my head, I don't use any water, oil, cream, or gel on my head, as I prefer a dry shave. Will the Omnishaver work as effectively dry as it does wet? If I used water alone, would that be enough to get a clean, no stubble shave?
@@AnotherCutAbove, that's good. When I get one, I will try it both ways, with and without water, and I will tell you how it went. I have seen people use it on the Omnishaver RU-vid channel and they say it works just as good after 11 months of shaving 3-4 times a week as when they used it for the first time. A few years ago, I tried the Headblade once. Haven't used it since. Took way too long, more than an hour just for the back of my head. Used the Skull Shaver. It's much better and faster, but I don't like the cleanup process. Until I can get an Omnishaver, I will just use my old reliable, a Norelco 3 head electric razor. Also, I need to buy a replacement head for my Skull Shaver.
The major difference is that the 4 and 6 blade variants have much better flow through so you can clean them out with running water. The 3 blade cart is pretty much enclosed and when it gets clogged up you may as well throw the cart in the bin.
Thanks Cris! I got into wet shaving about 2 years ago & have shaved my head twice per week for about the same timeframe. I’ve been told by many people that I should get the Headblade, but it never looked any better than a cartridge razor to me. I ordered the OmniShaver after watching a couple of your videos & after about a month of delays it finally shipped last week. Not sure exactly when I’ll get it but definitely looking forward to it.

Great Review, Now all you need is some Micropigmentation, I had mine done about a month ago the trick is not to go to dark and it will look really natural like a full head of shaved head :o) I shaved my head for the first time, had a card game with some old friends, I asked them how they liked my new hair cut? The said it looked better shaved then the thinning look I originally had on top. These are my friends for 20+ years, not one of them were about to detect I had any work done. Just make sure you pick a good experienced Micro pigmentation Artist. Something tells me all these other Products for head shaving will be doomed do to this new innovation way of shaving your head with Omni Shaver. Think about it, who wants to be Shaving their head for 10-15 Minutes or even more, when you can use Omni Shaver and be done in 30 seconds up to two minutes, depending how much you have to shave :o)
EL EVO I received my premium OmniShaver 2-pack last week. There is definitely a learning curve. I’ve used it 3 times so far & each time has gotten easier - by easier I mean a quicker shave and also less head cuts. I am very impressed so far with the quality. Now I just need to master the thing which will come with time & use. I am curious as to how long the blades will last and/or how much replacements will cost.

Some guys claim that they have gotten over 20 shaves with the Omni shaver, now as far as replacing the blades I'm not sure if you have to replace the blades or the whole system? I'm pretty sure it's going to be the whole system and not just the blades From what I understand this is a self sharpening razor so that's why so many claim to have gotten so many shaves out of just one of these razors. Let's just hope they don't change the quality of them and give us cheaper razors that will have a shorter life. Otherwise it will be time to hack the Omni Shaver a d put our own blades in it. Great shave mate! I ordered a premium Omniblade from the Indiegogo campaign after seeing you shave with the regular one. It's meant to be heavier than the regular one so hoping that means I can use less pressure and get a close shave. Will have to wait and see.
I've been shaving my head for 18 years. When I have that much growth, it's always clippers first then razor. It's impressive the Omnishaver can do that job. However, I'd like to see a test between them with a "normal" day or two growth. Another point is the ATX Headblade has a design that allows from water flow through that would reduce or eliminate the problem clogging issue. I'll look for some more comparisons before I decide on one or the other.
The moto is a superior daily shaver for sure. If you get the 4+ blade carts they allow for water flow through. It’s just the 3 blade carts that have the issue. The production model of the Omnishaver has a different blade angle than my prototype and didn’t work for me. That being said it doesn’t mean it won’t work for anyone else.
Surprising the omnishaver prototype I was sent sounded like it was cutting wood lol but did a very good job unlike the production model I tried. I've certainly batteredy. Head a few times over the years that's for sure 😂
Thanks for the video, you could use a tooth brush to clean the Headblade ( not the wifes ). Impressed with both of them, not sure if I can get them in England, i'll try Amazon.
Headblade is worldwide, omnishaver comes from the states however I didn't have the best experience with the premium headlade for some unknown reason. It was very tuggy and basically unuseable! The plastic one however is 50+ shaves in and still going strong!
I've only recently embraced my inner bald guy. I bought an Omnishaver Premium, and I like it and all, but I have a very difficult time getting the back of my head to BBS. I'm always having to finish off with a DE or my other cartridge razor. I got a Headblade today, and will try it out tomorrow morning. Thanks for the excellent review.
Hi Chris ! why not using just simple Gillette proglide 5? Another question any DE razor would you recommend for head shaving that are no so aggressive but not so boring. Neither? I also have the supply razor I thought of a better result in terms of “slicing “ but still happening . Thanks!

I've used everything from electrics to carts to DEs to straights for head shaving except for the Omni shaver. Every time I hear the scraping sound of that little cheese grater going back and forth I get a shiver down my spine. That thing would be ingrown city for me. Thanks for a great side by side review however!
I have also used the premium metal version of the omnishaver and it was such a terrible shave! This little plastic one works superbly well but doesn't come close to the Gillette Fusion or the HEadblade.

the headblade as u may not be made to handle 15 days of growth, maybe 3 to 4. Can u leave a link to the Omnishaver??? The headblade imho opinion is like a straight or de razor for the head that was designed for the shaver to relax and enjoy the shave and not be in a hurry.
It's good razors, but what do you expect from 12! Days of hair lol. I shave every Monday. Plus I take a hot shower & I moisturize my head before an after. You need a warm razor.
Omni for the win! Yeah 10 blades helped. It is a better design. That’s the one to stock up on. The Defender is the other one. It’s more efficient than the Headblade but Omni is clearly the better razor👊👏
Great comparison. 15 minutes compared to 4! Is there any irritation with the Omni shaver? It be been using a safety razor and I get several cuts and it's pretty irritating.
There is definitely a learning curve with the omnishaver, I got the feel for it around 10th shave. It’s a great efficient shaver and I get pretty much no irritation that I can feel! No matter how much I keep going over trouble spots etc.... it’s not as smooth as the headblade but it’s still a smooth efficient comfortable shave!

I was ready to give up and go with an electric. Not skin close but better than getting cut up. I'll have to give the Omnirazor a try. I may do electric for everyday and Omni for special occasions.

That's basically what I am looking for, a shaver that allows me to shave my head completely clean and smooth with no stubble in under 2 minutes. Which shaver would you recommend?
I would recommend the headblade. The omnishaver is certainly fast 💨 and does last quite a long time (25 shaves and counting) but it’s just a little but less comfortable to use than the headblade. Both offer a squeaky clean baby butt smooth finish. Not work well.
If i chose to shave my head again i would use my headblade atx le and trim more with trimmer first. Going over your head with ten blades, wow. To many blades.
Its surprisingly efficient yet gentle on the skin, its nowhere near as smooth as say the Gillette Fusion or Headblade but it does a job that's for sure!
Yeah worry free for me, however others I know have had some bad experiences with cuts etc.. I too cut myself quite badly with it when I was complacent.
I was upset about balding at 27, so I just tattooed my head, now I have to have it baby smooth as often as possible because I love the tattoos I got on it, but finding the right razor for me has been a pain, I have really sensitive skin on my head. I started just using those 2-3$ blue disposables but obviously they are trash, tried a wahl shaver with a foil got very irritated,so now I’m using the Gillette fusion pro glide but I still get a little irritation on the back of my head, if you had a top 5 for me to look at right now can you recommend?
If you haven't tried the skin guard from Gillette then that's the one I'd recommend! Of course it's expensive carts etc but it's such an amazing shaver and I get such minimal irritation! Best cart I've ever used
The Omnishaver looks amazing. The speed and confidence at which you was moving the razor over your head shows how much you trust it. I’ve been using a major razor brand 4-blade razor for a few years to shave my bone and, until recently, have always received a very good head shave. I think that said company is beginning to use sub-standard blades now, because the shave is no longer so smooth. I was seriously considering the headblade and the Omnishave; I think I will be going for the latter. Also, hearing the music in the background: may I have an ice cream?
Awesome review! I've been shaving for years and the Omnishaver looks like a winner because of the extra space between the blades keeping it from getting clogged. I have to in good conscience make you aware that the blade angles were changed from the prototype to the production model. This in turn meant the production model didn't work for me sadly. That being said it's still a great head shaver for sure
Normally I would use a de for this length of hair. This shave was mainly to highlight the way the omnishaver works and how well it shaves and doesn’t clog up.
Another Cut Above. Your hair was way to long, and with no soap or lubricant to boot. Not a fair assessment of the product. The head shaver was not designed to give a hair cut. The omnishaver is superior, yes, but.
I certainly had those issues with the 3 blade carts that headblade supplied. I have since found the gillette 3 blade carts with the correct adaptor works superbly well!
Ive heard they redesigned the blade on the headblade to fix the clogging, is this true. I just shaved my head for the first time and I love it. Was looking to get one.
Great video Cris : Your earlier posts demonstrated the excellence of the Omni and this absolutely nails it. If the developer could produce a 'Mark 2' that took care of around the ears, it would clearly be perfection. I kept thinking "when's he gonna rinse that thing?" and the v's Headblade comparison was staggering. There's no need for a rematch in THIS 'Showdown' 😁
Very nice video. My "OmniShaver Indiegogo Special" is on it's way home to me :-) The German head shaver is called TwinShaver. I like the TwinShave little more then the HeadBlade. So we will see how I like the OmniShaver when it arrive here at my home in Sweden :-) By the way, have you head shaved with the Gillette Guard? I get very good head shaves with it, and it never glogs up.
@@AnotherCutAbove I've been using the Gillette Guard for years because I have no hair loss (I shave for other reasons) and I have super thick hair. It's a great shaver. But you may only get 1-2 BBS shaves out of a cartridge if you're waiting more than 4-5 days between shaves. I find that hair gets stuck between the plastic and the metal part of the cartridge. Then again, if you can deal with this, you can find the cartridges at a great price on eBay. But I still can't tackle 12+ days of growth with it - I use a buzzer first.
Yeah it was more to show what the omnishaver is capable of. I am however unable to recommend the omnishaver anymore given the terrible shave I got from the production version! Very disappointed 😔 and the shave butter is a nightmare as it’s basically a moisturing cream.
Just watch the video with your spinal implant etc! I had no idea there was a condition like yours in existence! Good on ya for giving technology a go and getting some life back in ya!
Headblade 4 blade is better imo, it’s the best....it’s rare head shavers will got 3 weeks between shaves...get the headblade it’s tried and true head blade the Omni looks weak lol
I’ve had and tried all the carts (3/4/6). The 3 blade is pretty average to be honest. You’re correct about the 4 blade though, it’s definitely the best for me too. To be fair as much as I really enjoy the headblade, once I nail the pressure with the omnishaver it will wipe the floor with it. Whether it be a days growth or 2 weeks growth. The headblade does however get behind the ears and is definitely better built and more ergonomic. When it comes to just raw shaving power the omnishaver holds the edge for me. Both are awesome though! So doesn’t matter what one I use to be honest. Then there is the longevity of the omnishaver which has ticked over 20 shaves and shows no signs of slowing. Pretty impressive.
I do have to let you know though that I have a prototype shaver and it works amazing for me. When the production model was created the angle of the blades was changed slightly and it was no longer any good for my head. It appears that there are only a few who don't get on with it though so the likelihood is that it will work for you. cheers Cris

Cheers pal! that's awesome praise coming from a seasoned head shaver like yourself! The omnishaver I use in this video is awesome however I did get a production model that was pretty average. I have sent it back and I am waiting to find out if there were any issues with quality. I have a more recent video that highlights the issue I had.

My one has done over 40 shaves and is still smooth. But this is the prototype and the production model has different blade angles that didn’t work well for me.. that being said I still recommend it based on my experience with the prototype alone.
Build quality on the premium is much better, the blades were extremely tuggy on the one I received and I was unable to actually use it. The plastic one has more than 50 shaves on it and still shaving well. B e interested to hear your thoughts on the premium when you use it! I hope you have a good experience. Either way "john" the owner is a top notch bloke and will look after you!
@@AnotherCutAbove - once it arrives in the post, I'll let you know how the "premium" works for me. I like to shave every other day, so I shouldn't have too much stubble to deal with. I'll keep you informed. When I ordered, all I saw was the "premium" version. Not sure if they fazed out the white one you used, we'll just have to see.
Great review Cris, I’ve just started shaving my head with a DE, but looking for something abit quicker sometimes. Do you still go for these or just your fusion now?
Others that have used it say that it does. For me it flies through the hair with minimal fuss or irritation. Have used the headblade recently I have to say it’s not as smooth as the headblade. It does however work for me. Given the issues some others are finding I have to really emphasise that it works for me hahsha
@@AnotherCutAbove I ordered the premium model and got sent the normal one by mistake then they sent the premium one too - not actually used the normal one so might give that a try in case maybe it's a problem with the premium model
@@AnotherCutAbove So I just did a head shave with the plastic normal Omnishaver (as opposed to the metal premium one) and absolutely no soreness or razor burn. Night and day. Wish I'd been using the cheaper version from the start. Perhaps the metal means it can't contour to your head as well? Who knows. Any chance of you doing a comparison between your prototype, the production model and the premium model?
Hi, Great Videos. Been watching a few of them. Have you ever thought of getting SMP " Scalp Micro Pigmentation"? To even out that shadow after your shave and give you that full head of shaved hair look? I went for it, and none of my friends could tell I had any work done, not even my own mother or Brother In-laws. They just complimented me on how much better it looked keeping it short. I eventually told them and they were still in shock. I still had plenty of hair when I did it. I was just thinning to much up on top and and crown area as well is recessing hairline a little to much for my liking. First I shaved my head to make sure I had a nice shaped head and I was surprised I had a nice shaped round head. So I didn't want the half 5 O'CLOCK Shadow on my head and went for SMP for the full shadow look. Don't regret it one bit. The only down side is I have to shave every 2-3 days max, Usually every 2 days, 3 if I get lazy and plan on staying home. I prefer a Braun Electric Shaver , but now looking at using the Omni Shaver for a closer cut and Maybe I can get away with a 3 day break from shaving my head. What are your thoughts on SMP? It would most definitely give you alot of youth back and frame your face more. That's what it did for me.
@@AnotherCutAbove usually you need a touch up 5+ years later. Unless you are in the sunlight alot, then fading shouldn't happen sooner than normal. Also if it fades, you go in for touch ups only in the area it faded at or about to fade. Their is a new procedure called Trichopigmentation or something to that nature which is less Permanant and lasts a out a year, you can give that a try if you don't want it to last as long. For me and for the money I paid, I want it to last 5+ years without worrying about having to go in the following year for a touch up, like Trichopigmentation. Also, you can remove SMP via laser if you really are against it. Or just don't like it, which I doubt you will. See if they can give you a demo with a temporary SMP try out. It comes right off with a wipe. Some places can do temporary SMP demo's. In the end, you have to be happy.
With regards to what buddy? It's been a long time since this comparison. Many things have changed. Omnishaver sent me a new premium model and it was absolutely dreadful. They changed the blade angles in the production model and ruined the whole. I therefore no longer use or recommend Omnishaver.
