I've never seen another four 8ve classical guitar other than this one that Eliot Fisk has. Two 8ve's on the top E string. Man, I wonder just what piece(s) use(s) those extra notes.

Why introduce a new (klunky) technical term for a modified 'ligado' (ligature) when a adjective could be added, e.g. 'angled ligado' or 'leaning ligado',' tipped ligado'? Also, it seems the "one inch" could more accurately be described as "half-inch punch".

First I thought .... ???? Then I tried it and found I hardly get any tone at all. My fingers are too weak to create a tone by plucking(!) a string like he does. I consider this to be a hard workout to strengthen the left hand fingers. Thanks for sharing. NB: This is not about a playing technique to get some weird noise or tone for musical application. It is a workout to grow strength in the left hand fingers. ALSO: I suggest the term "one inch punch" in the title is used in relation to a Kung Fu technique invented and mastered by the famous Bruce Lee. The main attribute of this technique is to concentrate explosive power on one point a very short distance ("one inch") away. When searching this expression on the internet, numerous links and at least one (famous) video demonstrating this technique will appear.

Steve B You don't need to NB all of that; He outright said everything that you "suggested" in your NB.

Thank for demonstrating a new technique for developing tendinitis. Coordination is 1000X more important than anything else. Consider that a piano virtuoso cannot play a single repeating note any faster than the average person. Now when you have them alternate between 2 notes guess who wins that competition. Why? Coordination.

It's a good exercise for pull offs but that's it. It does not help with fluidity or speed. Go learn from Cellists left hands to see how the left hand really functions in melodic passages. Conservation of movement ( or reduction in a range of movement) is a myth. Range of movement is dependent on the musical intent and speed of the passage. Hope that makes sense. Because going any further would take for ever to explain.

I think the point is just in the exercise, regardless of what he said

the sound is terrible!

Joaquim Eleuterio The sound is not the goal. Strengthening the left hand is the goal; the tone/sound is moot.
