I served with 155 mm howitzers. Video doesn't do the experience justice. You don't feel the pressure wave travelling through the air and your guts. You don't feel the shock wave through the earth, kicking under your feet and you don't feel the two seconds of numbness in your ears. You won't really see 27 metric ton of canon dancing right after the shot.
Tanker here on 60A3s... the 105 in the turret was bad enough; but nothing is like standing next to a 155 either track or towed. Much less being near a whole battery fire mission.
