This photography channel is a big refresher in the ensuing world of new camera gear & upcoming models..

Thank you very much for the kind comment, friend. The idea is to make videos for people that love the craft, and want to learn and grow. Not to sell preset packs, or the hottest piece of gear or my services like you often see on social media. I hope the video was interesting or useful, and once again thanks for watching and for taking the time to share a kind comment as well! Cheers 🙌🏼✨

Found your channel yesterday and I must say it's full of informational wealth. This is one of the rules I never break. My camera always comes with me where ever I go. My family and friends think it's weird bringing it to the grocery store but I can't help it. Feels weird without it haha

Welcome aboard! I definitely agree, same with my friends and family, but by now I have captured some great shots of them that I would not have done without my camera, so now they understand 😂 Thank you very much for watching and for sharing a kind comment as well! I appreciate it! 🙏🏼✨

I never leave home without my camera, even a short trip on the well worn pat to my local grocery a couple of blocks away. To that end, it has to be as unobtrusive as possible, so I shoot with a Fujifilm X-E2 with the Fujinon 27mm shutter ringed pancake, slung over my shoulder on a minimal Peak Design strap. It Goes Where EyE Goes 🔍🔎

"I always have my camera with me, except when shaving in the morning, photography is a physical pleasure to me, like hunting, except that we don't kill." That's a quote from an interview with Henri Cartier Bresson that caught me deeply. I take my camera with me as much as I can, I have an X-Pro1 too, and most importantly, when I see something interesting I have to take the shot, no matter I I'm going late or the conditions are not ideal, If I say "I will do it another time" to me me I know I'm never going to do it.

I’m a novice photograph; I picked up a Fujifilm X-T30 last November (2021). Since the beginning, I made it a rule not to leave my home without my camera. It’s definitely made a much better photographer! I can definitely feel myself improving (or just getting more comfortable with taking photos). Sure, there are many days where I don’t take any pictures, but it’s always better to have my camera on me, opposed to not having my camera on me and missing an opportunity!

Absolutley right Jorge !!! Lots of great information in your videos !!! I never leave home without my Fuji X-100 and my Nikon D5600/18-300 mm lens, Nikon SB-300 flash...I know, maybe a little too much gear, but....I don't mind...I'm used to it 😀😀😀Keep it up !!!! Great work !!!!

I (kinda) follow that rule since I got an X100. I'm mostly a landscape photographer so shooting people in the street is still something that isn't natural to me. I've had a little struggle to get out hiking to take photos recently (mostly because of the weather, either too hot or too rainy) and I've felt kind of a burnout on photography after the vacations I took. Sometimes it's also good to take a break for a week or two, not get hyper focused on getting the shot that you want, just to give yourself the time to get back to photography with the right mindset. Things you want to photograph will be there when you come back to it anyway
@Jorge-Perez
@Jorge-Perez Год назад
How's landscape photography treating you? I want to test some other types of photography just to learn new things and new lenses. I'm gonna be testing the Viltrox 13mm lens so it seems it might pair well with that type of photography. And regarding being in a slump with the craft, I hear you... I find that it rarely has anything to do with the art, and it mainly links to your life and the state of your life. We all need some rest time, some time to recharge our batteries and get inspired and going, but in my case, taking a break from doing the thing I like makes it worse 😂 Thanks for sharing a comment, friend. I appreciate it! 🙌🏼✨

Wholeheartedly agree! Got the fujifilm X100V to help with that. Weather sealing and more compact size made easier for me to always carry it around. Even on days I don't take any photos, but it still makes a difference in our mindset. Great video!

Could we add one more rule, print your photos and up them in the wall like yourself. You can be critical of your work if you are looking at them
@Jorge-Perez
@Jorge-Perez Год назад
Agreed! Having a physical representation of your work is really life-changing, sometimes I don't really see the point of a photograph until I see it on paper, then it hits me. It's also a great way to showcase it to other people as well, but the most important thing is to solidify the memory and the experience you had while taking the photo. I have a couple videos about thinking about your work, and man it really changed things for me. How's your experience with printing your work? have you done something similar? Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share a comment as well! Cheers ✨😁

Once again I fully agree, for years I never live home without a camera ! It could be a small camera (like my X100T) or my X-PRO2, but it doesn't matter, always ready to capture what may be in front of me. I was doing the same in my analog days, at the time I had purchased a small Olympus XA so I always have a camera with me. ;-)
@Jorge-Perez

Great to hear that! It can be a little inconvenient at times, but once you get used to it then it becomes second nature. What are you currently using to shoot? or the main one you choose when out and about? Thanks for watching and for sharing a comment as well, Joel! I appreciate it 🙏🏼✨

@@Jorge-Perez My main camera is the X-Pro2 (I recently changed the X-Pro1 to get the 1/8000e, WR, and a better focus peaking), but if I go out and want to stay light, the X100T is the way to go !

Some people find it weird that I lug around a large DSLR just about everywhere I go, but as much as possible it goes where I go. In the rare event that it can't, my phone is my backup.
@Jorge-Perez
@Jorge-Perez Год назад
Great! That means you're putting in the effort and energy necessary to capture moments and create memories. And I think that's one of the reasons why I like the Fuji ecosystem, very small and light (at least compared to the other brands). What DSLR are you shooting with? curious to hear about your experiences... Have you considered downsizing into a smaller kit? this really was a game changer for me. I hope the video was useful or interesting! Thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment as well! Cheers 🙌🏼✨

Very good video, it's a very clever way to remind us to be mindful and photography definitely helps with that, I always carry my camera in a sling, not to mention I put my wallet and keys in there too so I never forget! 😅
@Jorge-Perez
@Jorge-Perez 2 года назад
Absolutely! I like carrying the camera with a strap, but I also use my peak design sling bag sometimes too. What sling are you using? Curious to hear your choice. Thanks for watching and for returning to the channel! I appreciate it 😁🙌🏼
@Carlu117
@Carlu117 Год назад
@@Jorge-Perez I use the peak designs as well but lately I’ve been using the hex brand ranger dslr sling v2, it’s roomie but the material is soft and light, and spreads the weight slightly better on your back and shoulder, downside is the way the main pocket opens, the lid opens away from your body and closing te zipper one handed after getting the camera out is cumbersome.

Great video, very motivational and something I need to get me out shooting more frequently. One question, do you really get away with taking photos in a grocery store?
@Jorge-Perez
@Jorge-Perez Год назад
Thanks for the kind comment, friend. To answer your question, yes, but I'm respectful about how I approach it, for example, I'll wait in a spot for subjects to walk in, so "I was there already". After I get a shot I keep moving, I'm not going to review the image and take 298374 more, just take one and that's it, keep going, etc. Never shove cameras on people's faces or make people feel uncomfortable about it, I talk about this in detail in my street photography philosophy video. I hope that was helpful, thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to share a comment as well! Cheers! 🙌🏼✨

Does having a camera with you makes you obligated to take at least one photo? I mean, if you have a camera with you but you are not shooting, then you are not iterating. How about having a camera with you vs. have a camera with you super accessible? I mean, that I can technically have a camera with me in the backpack, but if it is difficult to access, I might miss a moment or just be too lazy to get it out.
@Jorge-Perez
@Jorge-Perez Год назад
Not so much that I'm obligated, like a chore. More like it's inevitable that I will take some shots. If you are constantly looking, paying attention and searching for photos, then you will be bound to see something that gets your attention and try to capture it. Backpacks and sling bags are good in general, But I will still wear my camera with a neck strap or a wrist strap like I show in the video, precisely for the reasons you mentioned, missing a moment when you are actively looking for them is worse than not paying attention at all. At first, it may seem like to have to force yourself, it's the learning/training of your mind period, but after that, you will immediately see the light, objects and subjects and know what to capture. It's like when you sit down to do homework and you start to daydream or drift away, and you catch yourself doing that, and you immediately snap back to what you have to do. The same is for me and photography, it gets a lot easier with time. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share a comment as well! I appreciate it! 😁✨

Man, this is probably one of the best times to focus on the craft and use it as a way to explore the city and document your progress! I'm so jealous 😂 What are you shooting with? Curious to hear your thoughts. Try searching for cheap, 3rd party batteries on amazon or local used camera stores, get a couple of batteries and a couple of SD cards and just walk all day, explore and see what you can get. That is what I did in Japan, and it was probably the best year of my life! I hope the video was useful or interesting! Thanks for watching and best of luck In Seoul! Looking forward to seeing some shots 😁
