Besides the modern and improved Wit Studio animation, no filler, and improved sound design. The pacing will be the #1 most important update for this new anime. Right NOW, as of December 17, 2023, we are deep into the Egghead Island Arc in the Manga with 1,102 Chapters total. If this new anime remake, The One Piece fully adapts the manga faithfully and does it at the standard 2-3 Chapters per episode that most other anime typically do. Then we can easily estimate how many episodes it would take to reach the current manga of Egghead. If 2 chapters are adapted per episode it would be 1102/2 = 551 episodes. If it adapts 3 chapters per episode it would be 1102/3 = 367 episodes. And on average if it adapts 2.5 chapters per episode (typical 2-3 chapters), 1102/ 2.5 = 440 episodes. This all means that from episode 1 in the East Blue saga all the way through to current Egghead arc it would take either 367 episodes, 440 episodes or at the very most 551 episodes. For further context episode 367 in the current original anime was at the Thriller Bark arc, episode 440 is at the Impel Down arc, and episode 551 is at the Fishman Island arc. This means that all of the sagas/ arcs: Romance Dawn, Orange Town, Syrup Village, Baratie, Arlong Park, Logue Town, Reverse Mountain, Whisky Peak, Little Garden, Drum Island, Alabasta, Jaya, Skypiea, Long Ring Long Land, Water 7, Enies Lobby, Post Enies Lobby, Thriller Bark, Sabaody Archipelago, Amazon Lily, Straw Hats Separation, Impel Down, Marineford, Post War, Return to Sabaody, Fishman Island, Punk Hazard, Dressrosa, Zou, Whole Cake Island, Reverie, Wano Country, and Egghead Island will ALL be covered and done in UNDER 551 episodes. That is Amazing. Just wanted to really bring home how incredible this updated series could potentially be.
You do realize 500+ eps are still insanely long. People who refuse to watch the show is not going to change their minds when they have to watch possibly 700 episodes for the entire series. It is way better but still a commitment.
@@goldmemberpbBut now they can stay with the series this is like for the new generation as in for the new fans and no excuses of saying it’s too long now people have the opportunity to follow it, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be seasonal
The comic is pretty consistent so far tho? And even there is, I believe they wouldn't fix it, it's not their job and it can conflict with source material which can be problem in long run And there's no need to make haki visible since beginning, non of early villain use haki and it was supposed to be mysterious power only belong to high tier fighter
@@wildanbaxtli6913 fixing inconsistencies is the exact opposite of a problem in the long run. Also yes they are using haki early on. Zoro used it in baroque works, a lot of people were using it in skypea. Almost everyone was using it in marineford. But there’s just no way to tell when because they didn’t properly introduce it.
But for me the art style of One Piece set the tone for what One Piece represent. Not always "the best animation" is the way. For me,One Piece is a UNIQUE gem because of the story telling and ART STYLE!
I feel like the main reason a lot of fans are excited isn't just because of modern animation and art style. It's the fact that this version of the One Piece anime isnt gonna have a bunch of unnecessary filler and is gonna have way better pacing.
It’s basically a way to appeal to people who don’t want to commit to 1000 episodes and well as those who are dismissive of older animation. They’re basically eliminating the easiest ways people avoid watching the series.
To put things into perspective regarding the pacing of the Toei anime: At one point in the story (around Sabaody I think), the number of episodes were like 100 less than the number of chapters. But now it's like 40 more
They dragged the shit out of whole cake island arc and wano arc At some point it became umbearable to sit trough an episode only to progress trough 1 chapter
@@niall5292 nah it should be like 600-800 cause the main problem is theres 100 episodes of filler (i think) and in og they basically had whole episodes that were them just standing around insulting and recapping last stuff like in skypiea they recapped for half the episode then they basically just sat around for the rest
I think u focused too much on the few negative reactions, because Im so hyped for this, this is not only cool, THIS IS NECESSARY, IT WAS LONG OVERDUE FOR ONE PIECE TO GET A PROPER ADAPTATION!!! I CANT WAIT!!!
Exactly ikr. I have met far too many people who haven't given One Piece a chance because of its length and bad pacing. This will bring in so many new fans and will be a treat for the older ones. We just gotta have patience and not make them rush it
This is a great idea. People who want to get into the series but cant handle the awful pacing (such as myself) can now enjoy the series like other fans.
The pacing (pre timeskip) isnt even half as bad as yall make it out to be😑 it’s just that the show is long and yall dont wanna watch all that. The show just isnt for u, period
@@chibk Sure, you may be right. I'm not one to judge because I haven't watched the show. But does it have good pacing? Just because the pacing isn't as bad as people say it is, that doesn't make it good.
@@Leif776It's good enough that it's one of the most popular shows of all time and stayed in a top spot for decades now. So, yea. I'd say it's good. I think people just had fucked standards now bc of binge culture.
My GF wanted to watch the anime, but got held back bc of the many episodes. I told her about this remake and she is excited! It means less daunting, and being able to enjoy the story like I did for all these years 😊
I am so happy that its getting animated. Yes the pacing and dated style will be improved. Olus the complain about long episides are dinallt put to an end. People can start fresh with no complain.
Although I'm very excited for this remake I wished Dragon Ball got this kind of treatment as well. DBZ is perfectly fine as is and DBZ Kai fixes all the bad pacing and needless fluff but there are so many people that still haven't seen the original Dragon Ball. I even know many fans of the franchise who had seen DBZ and Super (even GT) but never seen the original DB.
I started watching one piece in 2022 and am now up to date… and then this news comes out looool. No regrets just funny! They could aim to make it shorter so it’s accessible for more casual watchers i guess. Thats the only way it’s worth it. Not that the long versions bad its incredible but a shorter version for people with less time etc to experience it would be cool. Bit like the live action i guess that type of pacing.
A One Piece remake is absolutely amazing! But was it really necessary… especially with other anime that need a remake more like Soul Eater, Tokyo Ghoul, Berserk etc
I don't think they should remake their art work. Yes, we all know its very out dated to the anime we have today, but it shows how far we come into making todays better then yesterdays
WHAAAAT So since I've been watching anime, I've wanted to get into One Piece, but after watching the first two episodes, the old artstyle really turned me off and after that my interest just faided away. But now... a ONE PIECE REMAKE IS COMING???? BY WIT STUDIO?!?!?!?! THIS IS WHAT I UNCONSIOUSLY DREAMED OF!!! 🤩Now I'll finally watch One Piece 100%
I am hundreds of times more hyped for this than I was for the live action. It's like being offered a free full course meal vs an expired hotdog at the gas station
Guys yknow how Luffy is supportive of Coby even though Coby is doing something that is without a doubt directly detrimental to Luffy which is aiming to be a powerful asset to the world government. Is it really too much to ask that we’re supportive of Oda wanting to bring in new fans, even if new fresh animation is somehow a bad thing to you as an individual to a degree that you have to be blood boilingly angry about it? The more non-toxic one piece fans we have the better.
@lonewolf_29 While the animation still holds up, it could still be better since animation has improved in the last couple decades, seeing the anniversary special proves this. Also, Naruto has a massive problem with filler, so yes it definitely could do with getting a remake
@@The_Number1Candyman Well my view is that fillers are skippable but not bad pacing. The thing that makes me attach to Naruto is their outstanding OST's and beautiful philosophies and I'm sure that many people would also have this in common with me. I do think that a Naruto remake can fix a few issues but if they do so, the OST's are gonna go, and I don't want that. They did a One Piece remake because of its hype right now and the people would watch it. Naruto was completed 7 years ago. I just don't see a remake coming
@a.kzestos2085 Fillers are typically skippable, but Naruto incorporated them in such a way that it can be hard to skip them (particularly in shippuden) because some episodes have a little bit of canon and then the rest is filler, which is why creating an edited version of the show without its filler can be janky and a pain, not to mention it's annoying to jump through hoops to enjoy the show. I agree that losing the OST would be a shame, but the original anime would still be there, so we can still enjoy it EDIT: As for the hype factor, people got pretty hyped about Naruto when they heard it was getting a few new episodes a while back. There would definitely be people who would be hyped for a remake
Look up the Ocean cut of Naruto. Takes out not only all the filler, but also removes the repeated flashbacks like seeing Itachi killing his clan for the millionth time
We have a one piece manga, one piece anime, one piece live action show, and now a one piece anime remake. This is a good idea but u cant tell me this isnt too much💀
everybody who hates the remake is not a one piece fan so stop promoting their bullshit I've ben dreaming about this since 2010 now my friends and family can finally watch it in peak quality. I mean I know nobody who likes Toei animation for what they did to one piece after Enieslobby.
Toei is fine, but One Piece ran too long which made the pacing suffer due to needing to make a profit. So they had to make worse pacing so they could still stay on air.
@@godiloveminininjas4278 they are giving it a fresh take so the OST's are gonna be different. We just have to believe in them making the new soundtracks great and memorable too
Why are they moaning about this decision, just take what they give you, and don't discourage the studio to produce something like that. I don't think they are doing it for the money but for history actually, and to honor the work of art that is one piece
@@RyomenAyeni225 You probably don't know but dragon ball daima isn't about the manga. It's a completely different story that takes place after dbz. It's not canon tot super. The trailer is already out you can check it out.
Yup, it needs a remake... I started watching OP around 10 years ago. I still can't get over those out of proportion hands 😂 now the switched to out of proportions boobs. I hate that they need to sexualize things...
People, especially One piece fans who think that a one piece remake is not a good thing are stupid (imo). Watch it again. The entirety. Just try it. You'll see that some arcs (for example: Skypiea, Long Ring Long Island, Impel Down, Post war arc just to name the first few, after that every arc is really dragged out) are incredibly dragged out. One piece without filler and with good pacing (no stetched out 2 minute stall reactions) could have probably somewhere between 400 and 600 episodes total, even with all the details in the manga. Another "problem" that i hope gets fixed in the adaptation is that we never get any episodes or short segments that show us the Cover-stories, which are canon and could get relevant at any time in the story. Another "sad" thing is probably that the classic animation style (which one piece doesnt have anymore anyways) will probably not be in the remake. I find the animation style of one piece until around Long Ring Long Island to be extremely appealing. The music is really good but the sound design is just really bad when compared to JoJos or any newer anime to be honest. I loved how in alabasta they used Dvoraks new world symphonie for the scene where luffy defeats crocodile (highly recommended to rewatch that scene just to listen) and its kinda disappointing that they havent really used more classical music because when done well (like it was in the mentioned scene) it makes the scene feel so much more powerful.
people dont understand that one piece does not have a high filler percentage at all... yes, the pacing is bad, but the show only has 9% filler, which is really low for 1000+ episodes
I am reading One piece manga (volume 28 now) and I have not watched the anime because of old animation. I wanted to finish manga first then watch anime and this remake is perfect for me.
Personally this is disrespectful to one piece, they made a live action, barely got to fishman island and never made another season, neither one piece or the live action is finished, if people cant watch it all then they arent a true fan, length is how you build a love for the characters, dont speed up the longest anime in history, its a story not a few sentences
what are you talking about. the second season of the live action is literally confirmed. it literally came out last year and covered east blue, of course we didn’t get to Fishman Island lmao, the 7th saga.
One piece remake is going to be amazing, imagine the current level visual of early pre grandline episodes and even the whitebeard war. This is really going to be amazing
Im here just to fact check the "Filled with fillers" comment Naruto Filler = About 40% out of 560ish episodes Boruto Filler = About 70% out of 200ish episodes Bleach filler = About 30% out of 400ish episodes One Piece Filler = About 10% out of 1080ish episodes
it’s not about the filler episodes it’s just the pacing, they’re only adapting 0.5-1 chapters per episode, it should be around 2-3 chapters per episode, so the reanimation should fix that and i’m so excited for it
The OP anime didn't follow the manga at the start. I hope the new one will follow the manga and do it seasonally so that the pacing is good and filler is zero.
If arcs aren’t released quickly, new fans will turn to the Toei version. They need to catch up within two years before the One Piece is revealed, or the Toei hype will overshadow the remake.
This remake is for people who doesnt want to start the 1070 episodes.. this will be on the same oace as the life action one piece so this would really be a huge success for sure
Well. I bet the animation will be clean. Probably gonna do what dbz versus the manga. Seems like a step up! Cant wait to see it! It better 😮make me cry 😡
I just don't see why they're doing this. The anime and manga aren't even over and are both at the height of their quality. So many questions and other anime they could do this for. People act like early One Piece is unwatchable and actually terrible. That's just crazy to me. It's post Enies Lobby/Impel Down when it gets REALLY bad. That being said, I LOVE Studio WIT and ONE PIECE, so it goes without saying I'll watch it to some degree. Just finished Ranking of Kings S1, so I know it's in good hands. I guess if this is a trade off to avoid TWO-PIECE in the near future, I'll take it.
my headcanon is that oda just wants as many people on one piece before it ends because he knows how massive it is, ask essentially anyone to watch one piece and theyll say its too long and too deep, but this new anime completely eradicates that argument
not to mention that honestly, after the east blue saga thats where the pacing falls off to be honest, wether we wanna admit that its true or not its definitely noticeable, and people like to see flashy animation, thats why anime is so big and why stuff like demon slayer is so big, better pacing, starting from the beginning, and new flashy animation will bring in anyone else that didnt want to give it a chance before
The pacing has always been bad. Not unwatchable, but definitely bad. There's a reason so many people fall off in the first 50 episodes. And the animation has always been terribly inconsistent. This is something the series definitely needs and deserves.
I’m so tired of this “why’re they doing this so many other animes should’ve got this” argument. Something has to walk so everything else can run. One piece live action was a success so to appeal to the new fans they made a remake. Now if the Yu Yu Hakusho live action is a success that means we can finally get the remake we want. It’s not a bad thing a series got a remake first it’s just opening the door for more. Also the one piece remake isn’t gonna air for years. The story could already be in its final chapters by then.
I think the one piece remake is an amazing idea, i wouldve waited for the manga to be finished but either way, the current one piece anime adaptation is horrific, a complete deservice to the source material, with horrible pacing, below avarage animation (for the most part) and filler. The best selling manga in history, definately deserves a better adaptation, so im all for it
Brother I was about to put off of the the greatest anime/manga just cause of the 1st few arcs like wtf is luffy fighting cats guys??? In usoop arc whatever it's called
I dont remember that but yeah the beggining of the series is tough, i put throught it cause i used to watch it as a kid on cartoon network and remembered arlong park so fondly i had to at least get there.@@anifizzamv123
Only positive for a one piece remake is hopefully it has better pacing similar to how the tybw bleach anime is. One piece anime has a very consistent problem of stretching content(adapting 1-2 chapters across like 10 episodes) this gets really annoying when some episodes feel like they have like 2-3 min of new content like 7-8 min of recap from the previous episode and constant flashbacks that we’ve already seen a million times
Those negative takes on the Wit Studio news are so bad lol. The only reason One Piece isn't finished is because it's a stupid long story that been written essentially every weekend for 25 years! They just skipping ahead to what was going to happen. I'm worried on what they're gonna do for the voice acting though. I really don't want to subject the VA's to more work than they already have. They can't replace the VA cast though because their voices are just too iconic.
Those fans that are mad at the remake just dont understand how one piece is by far the worst adapted anime, this does not mean the actual anime is bad, its just saying that one piece is going at and was going at around 1 chapter per episode and the amount of filler scenes they have is just crazy.
One Piece getting a Remake? I don't know, sounds like a good idea, but all the hard work the Animators, Voice Actors and Music Composer put into the old Anime, it would be a waste. Plus the story is incomplete... Just like you said. Dragon Ball through GT were already completed Anime so it made sense that Kai was made. There should be a Remake/Reboot of Hyaku Juu Oh Golion which became Voltron in America.
not really lol, one piece is ending soon anyways, how long do you think it takes to animate stuff?? the one piece anime remake isnt coming out any time soon and by the time it comes out the manga would be over already
like I said one piece could be over by than and besides its a seasonal anime, which means the do 24 eps and than take a break for season 2 which takes a year or longer and contrinue the remake isnt catching up soon@@ReiseLukas
@@MugiwaraPhoenix the manga isn't ending next year lol. There's way too much to wrap up in One Piece, so many more questions and mysteries to be answered. We're talking 4-5 years minimum. The last Saga took ten years to finish so half the length is a reasonable estimation
because its hard to get into the anime for alot of people when the first seasons look like garbage by todays standards. They are probably going to re-animate all the arcs that look sub-optimal
Why you trying to slander the early seasons? For a weekly show TOEI always made sure it looked as great or better than everything else going at the time. It’s TOEI!! Show some respect.
The original is TOO LONG as is and doesn't even need a remake besides of the 1000+ ongoing episodes the Toonami dub didn't even last for HALF OF THAT despite that the English DVDs I believe are around the 800 episodes mark.
that’s part of the point of the remake, fix the pacing so the anime won’t be so dragged out, if the pacing is right it should be about 300-500 episodes to get to where the manga is rn
