The One Piece Ban List Went Too Far In A Few Places 

4 days after the ban list was announced, Bandai announced that the ban list would be revoked December 8th. Bandai has done the correct thing and listened to the players. Especially when compared to other TCG companies this has been an astonishingly amazing move. We will see if red needs more hits after set 5, but this gives them time to plan out a better course of action.

Nami should've not been hit, specially due to ST-10, now new player are forced to buy singles of they get this set

I was already debating a purple leaning deck with RP Luffy, either going Impel Down route or Baroque Works. It was clear that Straw Hat was the best support for Luffy, but I think there are...passable alternatives. Really poor timing since the other deck I was considering was Enel...which would have liked those 8c Katakuri, if not for the $20+ dollar price jump :(

great video. thanks for noticing the useless reprints of banned cards, also for noticing ace luffy and vivi getting a lot weaker or unplayable after the banlist.

At the very least, Law can find something else. RN, I'm tinkering with a potential Supernova/Wano kinda package for it. I'm sure film would be better, but I don't really find that fun lol

I don’t know if the the bans were justified as I’m quite new to the whole one piece thing, but as a Pokémon player, looking on limitless tcg and seeing the big 3 red decks with 60% of the tournament points, whitebeard having 1/2 of that 60%, that’s just insane. A banlist was needed, but obviously it’s just not possible to make everyone happy with what cards were banned/weren’t. I do agree that I don’t like them banning leaders, and they royally fucked up in the marketing department for releasing prebuilt decks with banned cards, and marketing cards like nami whitebeard to all hell, but at least we’ll see how things go after the banlist repeals and maybe we can keep Nami and leader

I cannot agree with many of your points. Rob Lucci comparison with Ace isn't fair as Lucci costs one less and rush is supposed to be red's specialty. This is how it was with Duel Masters too. Certain colors specialize and are better at certain things and if another color will have the same effect it will somehow have more of a drawback. This isn't always the case but it's something to consider. Black has other things like being immune to destruction by effects. It's easy to say give Whitebeard an errata but there is no easy way to give an errata to that card without making it either broken or useless. They should have never printed it like that in the first place but I understand they wanted to do the 6000 thing because it's Whitebeard. It's the only ban I fully agree with. Nami should not have been banned. She is a searcher like other colors have searchers. The reason Red is so good is because the Leaders are broken and their aggressive style is favored by the don mechanic, a core gameplay mechanic which I'm not too fond of. Truth is One Piece has been unbalanced from the start and I fear they will have no choice but to fix it with power creep, eventually more red searchers will come that do the same as the cards banned and they will match that giving the other colors broken stuff as well. If the game becomes like BT10 Digimon and up I will be sad but I do think it could happen.

Most controversial thing they did which they should revoke is the Nami ban. That thing was reprinted in a Structure that just came out. Did they not think that would devastatingly hurt new players?

Eh idk i think whitebeard being 6k with access to extra cards in hand made him functionally broken rather than just having a really good ability. As well nami was the best searcher in the game for by far the best archetype which is about to get even more support. Nami isn’t color locked let’s you pick up characters stages or events and let’s you look at five cards and let’s you bottom deck rather than trash

they banned a leader? I really think they should reverse this decision. This is a line you just can't cross IMO

In general the bans are justified( even the nami ) i am puzzled why they did them now tho , red has been the best color for a while

The folks who have been playing Whitebeard to dominant success for the entire life of the game def got their moneys worth even with the ban.

Great points with Marco and Dadan, however I have some things to add that might be a little unpopular. 1. Edward Newgate (leader) being banned does in no way in and of itself mean people have wasted money. Ace is still a leader that meets ALL restrictions for the Whitebeard Pirate Archetype with the sole exception of Moby Dick's buff to the leader. Moby Dick being banned, however, somewhat makes this negative point moot. Comparing Newgate being banned to Vivi is in no way a fair comparison because there is an alternate leader that players can use in regards to Newgate. 2. Nami is in fact the best searcher in the game, and has been for some time. The fact of the matter is most of Red's best cards (albeit mainly forward pressure) comes from the Strawhat archetype. The two singularly best rush cards in the game are both Strawhats being Zoro and Luffy, the only counter event card that was strong enough to limit so far is Strawhats, Red's 1 cost blocker (which plays extremely well into their game plan) is Strawhats, and the list goes on (though with less meta-defining cards). If Nami wasn't as good as players made her out to be, then she would not be used in nearly 100% of top red decks. It does suck that these cards are getting reprinted in upcoming sets and premium products, but it is funny you compared One Piece to Yu-gi-oh without mentioning that Konami more often than not puts one or more banned cards in their structure decks they release. Overall, it is a real shame Law got caught up in the bans, but, honestly, Red has deserved a significant nerf since OP-01. It's honestly crazy how it has been the only color that has been here since day one that has not been subject to power creep. (Edited for Grammar)

No... it is not a feels bad, it is the risk of playing a tcg, if you play the strongest most broken deck, you can kinda expect some cards getting banned. It is the risk. Been playing mtg for ages and that happens ALL the time. It is the nature of tcgs.
