Do you guys agree aswell with my ONE reason ? I love the Wandrd Prvke but the thickness of the bag has been a problem a few time for me. I also own the blackmagic pocket 4k and with the cage it does not fit the the PRVKE
I will say this about my PRVKE 31. I was on safari in South Africa in an open air jeep during the so-called "dry season" and was caught in torrential down pour for an hour. The weather resistance is real. I was completely drenched and the nylon bottom felt wet, but the interior and my gear were completely dry. Canon R6 with 100-400 EF and 70-200 2.8
that's good to know ! unfortunately mine died a few months after making this video. the zippers gave out. I had already contacted them about the zippers falling apart and them not being waterproof anyone and during a trip the zipper broke... (at the aeroport) I got a replacement for it (the V3) but that's it my lifetime warranty is no longer valid... so it's a one in a life time lifetime warranty
For most people, the PRVKE’s lower profile makes it a better pack for most uses. I would argue that if you need to fit a 1Dx III, for example, you’d be better off with a Shimoda Action X50 than either the PRVKE or PD options.
Yeah I do see it everywhere but aslo the PD. And I do like the fact that like you said the PRVKE looks much less like a camera backpack than the PD. But the PD has some great advantage. and sometimes I wish that I had the PD as well
Never consider this Peak Design model at all. In that case I would consider the Travel Backpack 45L. The point is the camera cubes makes the difference FOR SURE. But in general lines, I picked the Wandrd Prvke 41L and I personally combine it with the Peak Design medium camera cube (because I think the Peak Design camera cubes are better than the Wandrd camera cubes). You can try if your camera fits in a Peak Design medium cube and that way you know fits also in a Prvke 41 (the 31 would be a little bit tight but could be possible too). I do take with me: D780, D750, 15mm f2.4, 24mm f1.8, 35mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8, 70-200 f4, filters, batteries, cards, laptop, more accesories, and im just with the medium cube... Still having space for another small cube, the tripod over everything, and still having some space!! Of course load it up too much is just for catching flights, usually I just have the 2 cameras, 3 lenses, and then some clothes. I'm more Peak Design fan than any other brand, but I recognize Wandrd aesthetics fits my needs much better, although the load lifters are necessary. But PD has not a "urban look" or an expandable rolltop (key).
Nice video sir, but to clarify, were you using the PRVKE 31L with the Photography Bundle (large cube)? (I'm thinking about that configuration for a Nikon Z7 (mirrorless - no grip) and several lenses (longest being a 70-300 f/4.5-5.6). Thank you.
hi the 31L can only take the Large Cube the medium cube is only for the 21L so yes is my quick answer. a friend bought the PRVKE 31L for his fuji GFX and he is very happy with it. it is all a bit tight but fits a few lenses as well as lots of little things on the top compartiment
I thought the Prvke 41 would be able to handle it? I just ordered the prvke 31, but I have a 90D and it’s not nearly as tall. It fits with my Fernweh which uses the same camera cube. But either way, it’s still a good thing to know!
I believe that the 41l is thicker but not 💯 sure though. it will also depends a lot on if you carry a laptop in the bag and how thick the laptop is also....
@@DuncanDimanche-sreview good point about the laptop, I do have a fairly chunky one (it's a gaming laptop that doesn't fit in the Fernweh sleeve but like a millimeter...)
Here's my big issue with the peak design, which I have several bags of. A lot of times I am constantly going in and out of my bag and there has been a few times who I picked a bag up without zippering up the side. Unfortunately, as you can guess, my gear went tumbling out. I know it's easy to say you got to be more careful but mistakes happen. Having a back panel opening to access your bag eliminates that risk. What I would love to see is peak desired. Put a little mesh in between where The bag opens and where your gear is. This would add just a little bit more protection for your gear. Also I would like to see a little place that you could attach and anchor. So when you have your camera in your bag it's also how the secondary support.
@@DuncanDimanche-sreview sounds good. I absolutely loved the Peak Design Everyday Zip 20l until the day that I needed to carry my whole kit. It fit with room to spare but was unbearable to carry. I was around 15#’s with the weight of the pack included. I regularly carry the same kit in a much cheaper backpack and it has never get that heavy. I sent it back. I think the swivel straps do not distribute the weight appropriately.
Try to access all your gear while doing a shoot.. any clam shell bag beats the PD in terms of accessibility. Whereas the PD would require you to take everything out to access what you need.
well the PD's big advantage is the accessibility due to the large side access on both sides so I can't say that I agree with you. but it is a too open system to be able to store more camera gear than a regular bag, THAT I will say
@@DuncanDimanche-sreview they are trying to say that it is limited to side access only and you are never able to get access to all of your equipment at the same time. I have to agree that’s one big flaw on a Peak Design bag. Side access is great for grab and go, but can’t no one can take a Peak Design camera backpack seriously when it comes to actual photography.
@@TamerBekir sorry for the late reply. It will really depend on the quantity of gears that you need to carry. lots of people LOVE the side access and the quickness of access of the PD. I know lots of photographers who love it. I now own the PD and i use is a lot for my everyday usage without cameras in it. but when i need to take big film cameras then it is my only choice
The Wandrd prvke 41l with essential deep camera cube can host my Nikon z9 easily…and it is not that much bigger than the 31l version (which I own), just deeper…
yeah the 41L has to be deeper for sure. the z9 isn't a very tall camera compared to the 1dx series or nikon dslr professional ones. can you close the bag easily even with a laptop in the bag ? Do you have a cage on the Z9 ?
@@DuncanDimanche-sreview I have the small rig bas plat mounted on and it does close easily with no interference with the laptop panel and it comes out effortlessly from the side access as well
I have quite a different experience witht the PD. My wife owns a Tote bag V1 and man, this is so nice. Yesterday we have visited one shop, as we wanted to go with the PD everyday backpack 20 and 30L. Man, I was so disappointed and here is why: - With both 20 and 30L, there are just three dividers. - The dividers, while nicely configurable like an origami, are in fact often a disadvantage - you can divide by their thirds. Very often your lens are not provided with a tight enoug fit and you can easily find the video, of how your lens can eventually fall off of your bag. - Because of the above point, the V2 has much stiffer side door opening, most probably to prevent the lens fall of and save you from eventual damage. Those sides also open towards your face, when you sling the bag. That's absolutly inconvenient and you have to use one of your hands, to keep them open and accessible. - You can't put more dividers inside, as the inside-top-back part has a material cover, which does not allow you to velcro one more divider. Me and my wife both love Peak Design. But we have just left the store, scratching our head, as this backpack can't take more stuff, than her recent Tote v1. What we need is - Canon R5, RF 15-35, 24-70, 70-200, Profoto A1 speedlite and later eventually a secondary body ... Man, I love that design, the sturdiness, the material, but can't ignore above flaws .... Let's see, what we get in the end.
yeah I 100% get what you mean. The PD is just not a practical and efficient back when it comes to storing and sorting out equipment in it. That is why I got the Prvke over it. I was just surprised at the thickness of the Prvke and I wanted to share that info... I film this side by side a few years ago and never published it... haha so it was about time
I am sticking to my PRVKE 31 backpack. I have tried both backpack and PD gave me a shoulder pain after long hours and WANDRD I can carry them whole day without pain in Japan. So that explains a lot about their product.
that's not good I have the new prvke and I use it a lot I also use the peak design one but not much for my camera gear (unless I have just one camera to take) the prvke is very confortable indeed and the waist belt is much confier too.
Peak designs straps are crazy uncomfortable. It’s super thin and with a full pack, it digs into your shoulders. The prvke has solid straps that are very comfortable.
