Thanks for putting so much quality Hunter stuff up. You really helped me gather a lot more understanding of the ways of the Hunters and improve my overall game play 👍
Played a hunter BM off and on for almost every expansion. I used to keep a spirt pet. Part of it was how long it took me to camp these pets to get them and of course spirt mend. After seeing your video went out and got me a rhino. I will get that pet you have sooner or later it looks great.
As someone who's still fairly new to WoW (like 6 months new) I usually had at least one other party member with me- never even thought about putting my mend pet on my hot bar until I started getting comfortable enough to do solo and couldn't figure out why the hell I kept dying, haha. I'm still learning to keep an eye on it, especially when leveling in an area, but it was really gratifying to see that I use a similar rotation- At least I know I'm doing something right! Seriously, though, I first picked up BM Hunter as a sort of goof off class and I haven't been able to put it down since. Your videos have helped me hone in on a lot of little things I wouldn't have otherwise thought about and helped make me a better player overall and have a lot more fun. Keep up the good work!
BM since BC, tried the others and have more than a few hunters, but BM is it! Love the video - have a selection of pets and appreciate the number crunching explanation on the leech, etc. Also good to see I can get my favorite spirit beast out again for some content at least!
Glad I could help! 🤙 yeah I'm loving SV right now. As far as a selection of pets, I'm still growing my stables at this point but I'm trying to tame only the coolest pets, I think I have around 80 so far. Once I max out my stables I'll do a dedicated showcase video 😎
At least for my, Once I attained high enough ilvl, Niya sims better with double potency with the wild spirits and bloodletting. Which bloodletting can be dropped once you hit high enough haste or crit for the barbed shot uptime/crit proc fishing. That being said, the conduit path you showed was definitely A++ for starting out/mid ilvl. The scaling of wild spirits > bloodletting conduit
Core hounds are the best tanks imo. They get a 1 min defensive cd, leech, and another cd that damages anyone that attacks it for a window of time. Oh and bloodlust is great so ferocity ftw.
Thanks! Not really, no haha, never liked MM even when it was meta. Not sure if it still is, I don't play anymore. Plenty of videos on the channel though, I made the home page easy to navigate for anyone who finds it before I stopped making content 👌
Still saving up for a spear to test the survival waters out. I play around with a lot of classes. But I always seem to come back to my hunter. Thanks for the great content.
I main bm hunter and I will always be proud to be a bm hunter no matter what anyone has to say about it. In regards to the spec of pet that bm hunters should use most of the times must be a Spirit Beast[tenacity]. Cunning pets provide too little to be used as a bm because that add pathfinding buff is not gonna make much difference. Master's call is good yes but the cd is too long to be viable in this meta. almost every class have multiple rooting abilities and removing it just once with a 4 sec immunity after is just not good enough. As it relates to ferocity , at first I do not think this is a good idea whether in bg or battleground but recently or rather since today I was using a new pet to hard counter well geared rogues and it so happens to be a ferocity pet. So I chose it only for its aoe ability called froststorm breath[can be used repeatedly] which is from the chimaera pet[exotic[ to use as aoe forward cone attack[along with traps] so rogues cant sneak up behind me without my pet breaking their stealth. This brings me to Spirit Beasts[exotic] they offer much more to the table than the others. hp boosts, healing[despite how miniscule it is] and survival of the fittest. Our kit is very lacking on defensives already having one more there is very helpful. This has helped me to survive so much rogue burst. If you are using the craven strategic legendary then you being rooted forever should not be a problem much since feign death will clear root when u have that legendary and its cd is only 15 seconds compared to a 1min master's call. I can understand for arena if u want to help clear root on your partner. If you are fighting against melee other than rogue you shouldnt need to rely on pet slow to slow your enemy, a good hunter should always have concussive shot on melee and create gap with you on melee by properly using disengage and dont disengage before dk uses death grip and use explosive trap wisely and use your aspect of the cheetah when you are not slowed. if you can do those things, your life as a hunter is over vs melee. Some people like to kill bm hunter pet first. My advise to you survival of the fittest works on pet as well, and make sure you watch your pet health. put it on focus if u have to. make a macro for its spirit mend ability so the pet can use it on himself. SB also has a self purge , i know there are classes out there that rely on dots to kill enemy, let your pet purge itself when that afflic warlock feels like killing your pet first. A good bm hunter does not let his pet die without a fight.
FYI To hunters who want to take ferocity in pvp, your mend pet will heal you with the leech, and since you’ll be running two pets, that’s double the healing
Something you forgot is that, at Trueshot Lodge there's a NPC who sell cool stuff like, a book to teach your pet to bring back the loot or a book for teaching feign death to your pet, so it doesn't have to die. :) hope it is hopefull
Commenting for the algorithm and for potential selfish reasons. :) Your content...life saving. Pets live longer (clefthoof for life)...I live longer...its a wonderful improvement. If you're ever looking for new content, a guide of "what to do when you get yanked/camped in world content" would be AMAZING. (cuz my current method of scream, curse, and try to hit exhilaration before the stun wears off doesn't work well) ;)
🤣 I was like "scream and curse, what are those spells?" 🤣🤣 glad youre liking the content tho! Check out soullscape he does a lot of wpvp and plays sv hunter. He doesn't do many guide but I think you can pick up some tips! Try getting your hands in a pair of goblin rocket boots, and some glider kits to help run away in fear 👌😅
7:55 Soulforged Embers actually applies a dot to 5 enemies standing in the tar trap once its ignited, mobs can move from trap and still have the dot :D
Very true! but say the tank moves after you cast tar trap, you might not get soulforge to touch 5 enemies before the tank has moved the mob 🤷♂️ just something to consider, me personally, I always spec for consistency but again thats just me 😊
Update for 9.1, it’s Dreamweaver, not Niya and if you’re only going to craft 1 legendary, it’s the Nightfae ability legendary in the neck slot, best overall for Mythic+, Raids and world PVP, epic/unrated BGs, because then if you get into PVP arenas or rated BGs you can use stratagem in the same slot.
Now that Nightfae Legendary is pretty much if you exclusively run BM, like I do. If you go marksmanship or Survival a lot, I don’t know wha to tell you. Fragments of the Elder Antlers is the name. If I were doing more PVP, it would be venthyr and stratagem all the way. This is just all based on experience for me, a lot of personal testing because I actually like collecting legendaries and doing Torghast but none of my friends do, , heroic raiding with a little bit of mythic and Rated BGs 2100.
The best covenant choice is not Kyrian, it's Venthyr, for BM. Also, the Leech buff is not only good for Bgs, but it's also good agaisn't dot class in arena which helps with the sustain, surprised you didn't mention that. I would suggest you take a closer looks at PvP site statistic of high-rated arena players. Your guide is well done for an entry-level player who just started BM, but it's far from being the only guide you'll ever need.... Also Haste if just better than Mastery..
I'll add it to the list! I doooo have a hynter macro guide posted but its not PvP focused, you should still find it useful tho! Lots of the info will transfer/be useful in PvP, let me know if you like it!
I was feeling rather low because of MM hunters being so good, but I love BM so much and i tried playing MM but it is just meh...I am progressing in Mythic CN atm with my guild and was looking for tips to get even better. After all the logs and forums I came to RU-vid and found your video and it was very good. I learned few things I might change and try. Cheers!
Thank you for the guide I've mained a BM since BC, I play with a frost mage no mythic or higher. This the first xpac where it has me confused just about every phase seems Greek to me. Damm memory will not drop for the soul legendary. Sorry I vented thanks again and stay safe and healthy
Caucasian but I didnt really choose it. Bahaha no jk I shoulda gone over that too! Damn, I went undead but orc is generally the best, not sure for horde Edit: not sure for ALLIANCE
Thanks! And here you go boss 🤙🤙 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BIbvqtFKyes.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R3yAaCxlVhY.html
Wonderful guide, exactly what i was looking for. I use to play suv but my guild was ranged starved so I switch to BM. My question is until i get a spirit beast what ferocity pet do you advice i get? I already got a clefthood, a devilsaur and a cat. Ty in advance.
Yeah that's true I shoulda clarified that, I just mean if the tanks moving a lot the enemies might not all hit your tar trap 🤷♂️ but yeah thank god for that otherwise rylakstalkers would be must have 👌
So after lot of sims with different stats, different BiS and different legendaries, the aspect on the best was by very far better in AoE and Single target on the sims. Also Kyrian simmed highest too for AoE and Single target.
No shit? First of all thanks for testing and reporting back! That critical strike chance from resonating arrow is better than I thought! Hard to believe it comes out above wild spirits 🤔🤷♂️
@@xBLUMONKEY After using some sims and doing the same sims multiple times, because I wasn't very sure about Kyrian and Night fae and notices that one-time Kyrian is higher in both single and AoE other time Night fea is higher, so I think it's pretty equal. they're never further apart than 100 DPS. I just really started playing hunter, haven't played a hunter since WoD. So could be slightly inaccurate but used the BiS for Souldbinds, Conduits, Talents, gear etc. from Wowhead. Also, figured that Flayed shot is the weakest.. in everything even single target, Necrolord even beats them what surprised me and made me quiet.. sad I guess since I was looking out to play venthyr but I feel like it isn't really worth it since it's more than 1K dps difference. Also, I dunno how good the sims are from "askmrrobot"
Hello and thank youj for guide. Can you clarify the Animal Companion and Ferocity pet situation again. I do not understand how it decreases survivability. Also if I use a Ferocity pet what talent should I choose and how will it benefit. Thank you Very Much!! it's at the 3.55 mark
Sup! Yeah so how ever much damage your main pet does determines your healing from leech. Your secondary pet doesn't get any of its stats, it just attacks (so it doesn't get leech.) When you take animal companion it splits your pets damage between the primary and the secondary. Its still an OVERALL damage increase, each pet gets 60% of its regular damage, resulting in 120% dmg. But only the primary pet gets leech. So you only get 60% of the healing youd get with only one pet. You can still take animal companion to get the slightly increased pet damage if you're not worried about survivability, but I recommend stomp with ferocity or to take a different pet family with animal companion 👌 hope this helps!
Kyrian, resonating arrow gives an aoe dmg boost (nice for PvE) and also give you tactical advantage (for PvP) thats just me tho, any covenant will be good if the ability matches your playstyle 🤙 except necrolord lol
hey, shouldnt it be bestial wrath before kill command to buff up kill command damage? also, why do you throw a cobra shot before the 2nd BS? shouldn't we be trying to dump all BS so we can go into beastial wrath quicker? sorry, asking this to try and improve my dps
Good question! You could do that, but the idea is to keep frenzy up for as long as possible. Dumping barbed shot will get frenzy *higher quicker* but once you run out of your BS charges your frenzy will drop completely. So if you try to spread your barbed shots out more, and only cast it when frenzy is about to drop, your frenzy will last way longer, but it'll take longer to build up to 3 stacks. You only have so many barbed shot casts between beastial wrath cooldowns. Regardless if you dump them or not, it recharges at the same rate. You want to get the most out of them 😋 the only time I recommend dumping barbed shot charges is 1) you NEED high frenzy very quickly, usually to finish off an enemy in PvP or a tougher mob if you're about to go down. Or 2) you spread your barbed shots so well that you have a leftover charge or 2 before beastial wrath is up again As for casting beastial wrath before kill command, yes you can do that if you're looking for a more burst-style rotation. I like to save my first beastial wrath (especially in PvE with long fights) until I use my first 2 barbed shots. Again, this is to maintain higher frenzy stacks *while* beastial wrath is up. Instead of starting at 0 stacks and slowly working up, you'll start at 2 stacks and maintain a 3 stack for the rest of your beastial wrath, and ideally all the way until it comes off cooldown again. This assumes you're going to be in a fight long enough for that to pay off though, like a boss fight. If you're fighting trash in dungeons or something you can go ahead and pop your beastial wrath at the start of the fight, chances are the mobs will be dead by the end of it anyway. You'll figure out exactly when to use your cooldowns depending on the situation the more you play, and eventually it'll be obvious. I hope this helps!! Good hunting!
I'm a New player . Eventhough I dont understand most of the things in wow . Ur video was pretty easy to understand. Thanks for the hardwork. And what add on do u suggest for a new player like me ?
You can just right click your nameplate and click "unlock" to move it, same for enemies. The frenzy stacks are an addon called "neat plates," makes it show your DoTs and debuffs over the enemies health bar 👌
What is a good exotic pet combo, I’m thinking about making a BM hunter but am trying to figure out an optimal pet combo. The Devilsaur family look cool and the clefthoof family as well.
Unfortunately your second pet only gets its auto attack and follows your kill command. You don't get its special/exotic/spec abilities. Use what looks coolest! 👌
Exactly. Your primary pet will depend on the content you're running, assuming youre more of a solo/dungeon/raid player, yes that will be clefthoof or spirit beast 😊 feel free to check out my pet guide playlist if you wanna know more! 👌🤙
I have a rank 4 soulforge leggo, but see a lot of high end players using rylakstalkers. It seems good with the recent buff, as well as talents like aotb and bloodshed, and conduits like the +3% dmg during bestial wrath. I also see a lot using killer instinct for single target opposed to bloodshed, but i havent simmed myself on that yet. Niyas burrs seems to do more single target dmg than having another potency conduit, but for aoe/m+ I like using the poison row with blood letting for easier frenzy uptime, but if i get rylakstalkers then maybe the +3% dmg one would be better? Min maxing is a pain..
Ahaha thats why I don't min-max! I play super casually actually mostly collecting pets/running BGs/WPvW with friends 😋 I also play a bit of destiny 🤙 But for covenants I'm about to switch to venthyr when I get some free time to actually *play,* not just record or edit 🤦♂️
For sure I always like to make my guides with a couple options and ways to tweak builds to peoples personal playstyles. One way may sim the best, but if it doesn't line up with someones playstyle it could very well cost them performance. I always try to have a "this is best, but this works too" approach, for example with soulforge embers. Technically it sims the best but its utility is dependant on certain variables, like with anything else i.e. the tank keeping mobs over your tar trap or if you're even able to execute it without slowing down your rotation. Like in an FPS: this gun can kill faster but requires x range and x accuracy, whereas this other gun kills a little slower but has more forgiveness with your aim and can be shot from a different range. Thats just how I like to look at it. There are so many guides out there that say many different things, I try to compile all the info and deliver what makes sense to the broadest audience so everyone can have the best experience for *them.* Anywhoo thanks for the comment boss, cheers! 🍻
I through marksman was in a sligh better spot than BM, I like survival but I think at the moment is the worst of them (but the more fun) can you also throw a survival guide ? @xblumonkey
how do you have the same UI for the health bars with elvui, and how do you have the images pop up in the top corner of the screen when you attack? I'm really new to wow and elvui
Your best bet is to uninstall while you're still new 🤣 but you can download an addon called neatplates and it'll show it right over your opponents head, or download weakauras and import a user-created spell interface that will tell you. I suggest you watch a detailed video about weakauras, its a must-have, ill plug some videos that'll help real quick gimme a sec
Id say when you get down to details like that its best to sim your character. I couldn't personally tell you which would be better when it boils down to 1 or 2% 🤷♂️
Kyrian is not best for bm pvp. It breaks traps and doesn’t contribute meaningful damage to your single target. Venthyr is superior as it adds high burst/sustain single target that aligns with your trap cd. Kyrian is better for marks though.
No such thing my friend, I do cover the best pets for each type of content in this video but if you want more info on pets specifically heres a playlist for you ru-vid.com/group/PLgumUiGmxNaRv2-nY08phjjp2G_p4djcc If you wanna know about pets, you're in the right spot 🤙🤙
Yeah but it can also be hit with shackle undead, turn evil, wake of ashes, etc while live pets cannot. Shouldn't take an undead pet against priest/pally. Its allll situational Edit: spelling
You actually don’t press kill command so killer instinct is crap. Cobra shot does more damage then kill command in pvp. Crows is also bad compared to thrill of the hunt. Also you only run craven any other legendary is shit for pvp And you don’t run mastery main stat it’s vers haste crit mast. You should watch some of the R1 hunters before you give out the wrong information to people.
Idk I swapped to Rylak, feels stronger. Too much set up with soulforge. Also, the adds don't have to stay in the tar after they are lit. It's a dot. I wish that it would refresh while they stood in it.
