@@marthacunanan7437 you need full coverage insurance when you finance a car and majority of Americans still can't afford it. The car payment and insurance is more than a mortgage payment on a house.
What are you complaining about? Scotty has it all figured out. He learns, ya the car can really do 170 mph, and if crashes your car he's DOA. When they put the sheet over his face he doesn't have to face you. It's a win win situation right??? Vaughn
@@gaylemesser136 I wasn't complaining. I just thought it was interesting how he told the guy how fast it goes *after* changing the oil. But it's been a while since I saw the video, so I don't really remember.
@@user-ru1eq7tw4y I hear you...saw that with the supra which went quite over night....and elon got them by the nuts....same thing is happening with the cybertruck
Scotty, the Honda has transmission problems, so I have to disagree with you cause I know you always recommend the Honda. They have good engines, and that’s it.
Buying a fast car for $60,000: I sleep Buying a used sports car for $30,000: I wake up Buying a slow car for $5,000 then spending $8,000 building a turbo engine: *I A M W O K E*
Did he? (Recommend). I took it more as informative. Did you notice the pics of crashed cars when he talked about muscle cars that were great going straight but deathtraps trying to turn?
I don't understand why Honda doesn't change there paint process since they have hade constant paint problems since the 90s when they changed there process
The long range model three goes 4.4 seconds and the performance model goes 3.5 Scotty. I only say that because you said the long range mode but the performance one doesn’t give you the longest range, you’re still an awesome channel don’t worry 🙏
Hey Scotty, I know you're not a big fan of Nissan's. But the 370z is a decent car for this list, sure its dated but it has good roots and is a good platform for many builds. a true to form sports coupe. Edit: the after market is healthy, plenty of parts (been around since 09).
This is mostly because of the people who buy corvettes. Most of them are quite old, and don't feel like shifting anymore. Happened to my grandfather, he swore by shifting his own gears, now he drives automatic.
Chevy wanted a dual clutch auto to decrease shift times and lower the 0-60 time. It looks like Chevy is taking the Corvette in the same direction as European supercars which is a real shame. I like the old gated shifter Ferrari and Lambo cars way better than the new ones. I don't care if it's the difference between a 2.8 and 3.4 second 0-60. If I'm buy a sports car it's because it's fun to drive not because of its 0-60 time and a manual will always be more fun.
@@EveKitty08 are you sure it has nothing to do with "lazy engineering"? Have you looked at the interior of the C8 design? It's so cramped I there with buttons and screen, where will they put the stick for a manual? Also, the transmission on the C8 is sitting just above the rear drive shaft, have fun setting up a manual linkage from back there to the center console. Clearly, they already made up their mind from day 1 about not using manual in the C8.
honestly, I’m never going to buy a brand new car. I know of financing and such but the thought of losing 20k on a car in a a couple of years doesn’t feel good. I bought an e class sport in 2011 and got it for almost 30k lower than what it would’ve been new. i got it for 26k at an auction but it’s 55k at full price. it was only 2 years old and it still runs very nicely with 70k miles :)

The upcoming Corvette C8 should have also been in the list since its price will start at $60,000.
Ya but the problem is that's "starting" dealerships are charging 10k over sticker and the sale price isnt even including warranties, tax, dmv and other accessories that might be added on
He’s wrong, the majority of young people learn their lesson and never repeat the mistake of buying a new car until they can afford one. All of us have made these type of mistakes when we were younger and it’s the reason why we become smarter with hard earned money and have financial peace as adults.
I like that: #1. The background changes every 5 sentences (even though he's still on the same topic). #2. Every 2 sentences there is a cut. Literally no seconds were wasted in this video, lol.
The Civic Type R has the fasted lap time on the Nürburgring for any front wheel drive vehicle. The styling is more for the young crowd though. I am driving a 2018 Civic Sport Hatchback with color "Polished Metal Metallic", and the car is very smooth at high speeds.
Man you hit the nail in the head at the end. The new corvette is all European and I don't think it even comes on standard transmission. Give me the civic typeR at least I'll feel the driving experience.
Scotty I am selling my fiesta st 200hp from December 2018 (1.5 3 in line) and getting the new focus st with the 2.3 4 in line, with a twin scroll turbo and 280hp. 0 to 60 in 5.6s. This are European made ford's since I am from Europe. What I don't understand that much is how this twin scroll turbos work... But I bet you know it! Amazing channel and videos.
You can always buy a car 2nd hand for like 4-5k, spend about 10k-15k in mods and just take your time modding your car & make it go as fast if not faster than most modern cars.
Wish I had a mustang, just because I'd really like one, i nearly every time Im driving, keep seeing the same blue, white stripe mustang, its making me crazy!
The Focus ST ST1 for 19k dollars out the door. 256hp, amazing 6 speed, and great handling and overall utility. These were arguably the best cars for the money.
@@aamir1972 Bad transmissions on the automatics. The ST and RS transmissions were solid. Some had issues with the synchronizers but it didnt effect that many. I got rid of mine a few months ago.
I have a 2015 Honda Civic SI with 200 hp and I think it’s one of the funnest cars I’ve ever owned and I have had three pony cars in the past two Camaro’s and a vet.
i owned a GPZ900R back in the eighties it was a huge thrill ride every time i took it out till i run up the back end of a an 8 ton dumper Truck i took the hint after at least two life threatening events on a fast motorcycle so i became a car man for comfort and safety but the occasional bit of joy through a nice set of corners
Well there are larger percentage of people financing 60k+ trucks on 15-30 dollars per hour wage. Because they need to haul some stuff twice a month. Truth is you'll find morons anywhere you go. It's their money to waste and their debt to repay.
2:48 The whole reason why I never bought a Honda. It's not that Honda's are bad cars, it's that every Honda dealer I been to has this idea that you should be honored to even be able to even set foot on their lot and you should bow down and pay any amount they ask for.
All these people saying "who can afford a 60k car to play around in?" You really dont need to spend 60k to own a fun car. You can get used pony cars with V8s or even high output 4/6 cylinders for cheap. Used Miatas are pretty cheap and a blast to drive out a twisty road. Even the Civic Type Rs are not too bad depending on what part of the country you live in. Just have to look around a little and buy used and you would be surprised what most people can comfortably afford. I picked up a 2 year old Acura ILX ASpec for super cheap and while it wont win any drag races, it's a total riot to drive out curvy back roads. Great video as usual Scotty!
That's like saying it costs 59.999 before dealers fee, mark up, and who doesn't want the z51 package come on. People are fooling themselves if they think there getting a new C8 for under 60k don't get me wrong great car and great price but it's not under 60k
More like $3-5k, 10k is when it just came out. I actually bought one last year for 37k with tax and everything included. About $800 below MSRP, but took me 6 months to find it tho
Or you can grab an Srt-4 for $6k, go e85, throw in a bigger turbo and be just as fast as these cars that cost 10x as much. My uncle owns a 2011 gt500 and he never drives it bc he barely can get 15mpg. Same with my other Uncle who has a Challenger. Beautiful cars but you can go just as fast for far more cheaper. Hell an Srt-4 with just bolt ons and e85 can keep up.
An E46 330i could do 160mph all day if it's a manual and you replace the complete cooling system, you could probably get one for $1000, but will have to invest another $500 in parts
Every Corvette from since the C4 beats everything in it's stock price range class at the track. The C5 Z06 was not allowed on track days without an SCCA license. The C7 Z06 is a race car...used under $60k right now.
Bryant Feld don’t make the mistake of buying a stinger coming from Kia master certified technician it’s over rated, just go test drive one and listen to all the rattling noises coming from the rear and the sides, the quality is bad, and for its price it’s not even that fast, look at E92 335i or M3 if you want fast, or F10 M5 if you want fast, space and great quality. My old man got F10 M5 he got for 55K with 37K on it he said it’s the best car he ever owned, I’m getting E60 M5 soon. I’ve been working on Kia products for 5 years now and I’ll not buy one or own one if it was giving to me for free, if you do buy the stinger make sure you have another car because it will sit in the shop for quite some time
Bryant Feld you’re welcome sir, any other questions or concerns I’ll be more than happy to answer them for you, I’m master certified in both Nissan and Kia, I would still recommend that you go and test drive a stinger and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about when it comes to the noises in the cabin, and I’m sure you won’t be happy paying 50K+ for such quality
Hey Scotty, I keep hearing you say you're in Dallas. So I'm curious why you have the New Hampshire "Live Free or Die" motto hanging above your garage door?
6:00 Slight corrections on the Tesla Model 3: the fast one is the Tesla Model 3 Performance (not long range). It costs $55K and does 0-60 in 3.2 sec. The cheaper "long range dual motor" is $48K and does 0-60 in 4.4sec.
I don't know. I just got 30 grand Ford Fiesta ST with a decent tune up to 250 bhp and i can outdrive most of the cars listed - talking cornering and stuff. It's also super fun.
