@@PossessedbyHorror The Scream Rules of surviving horror proved not effective at all.Cindy made it with her boyfriend yes they had sex the boyfriend turned out to be a serial killer and she did not die I'm sure all that rules stuff was just a lot of talk anyways. Wes Craven I miss him because he like Carpenter was good at telling stories I'd like to see Ray Bradbury movies and books return that man was a great mystery writer his work needs to return because it's just so important. 👍👍 🧟♀️🧟♂️🧛♀️🧛♂️🦹♀️🦹♂️🧙♀️🧙♂️
I love Crimson Peak during the fall. It's beautiful. The leaves falling through the ceiling, all the orange and red; it just makes me think of late October-early December.
Every Halloween, I have the original 1959 House on Haunted Hill playing in the background while I hand out candy. To me, that movie just evokes the combined campiness and spookiness of the holiday.
A film I think that doesn’t get enough love is Crimson Peak. I think it’s a great double feature with The Woman in Black with Daniel Radcliffe. Both those houses are like characters unto themselves. They’re the greatest rainy day movies. Or cold and blustery fall weather.
Personally, Halloween is the one season I DON’T want to watch actual horror movies. My faves are always like, kid Halloween movies that focus on the holiday. Basically any Halloween D-Com or animated movie about the season lol. So nostalgic
I sort of understand this. I watch horror, but only "fun" horror. I prefer movies that are a bit lighter, with a party atmosphere. Trick R Treat does this well, and I consider Night of the Demons to be the best movie for Halloween. Ironically, I don't consider Halloween to be a good movie for Halloween. It's a little too dry.
I absolutely love OTGW. It’s the perfect Fall and Halloween vibe. Spooky but not overly scary is just how I like my Halloween movies. Another great one is Coraline.
I would have put Ginger Snaps in the first category, since it takes place over the month of October and ends at Halloween time. I'd forgotten how good a Halloween movie it was until I rewatched it last year.
i love how much more passionate and refreshed you seem on this channel since taking a break from your lifestyle channel. So inspired by seeing you do what makes you happy!
Another atmospheric film for Halloween is “Scarecrows” (1988). A small group of mercenaries hijack a plane that makes an emergency landing in a cornfield with very creepy and violent scarecrows
I love watching Goosebumps (the tv series) and Are You Afraid of the Dark? in autumn- they just radiate 90s autumn vibes! I’d recommend a show called Tales of the Unexpected- it’s a British programme from the 70s/80s and there’s an episode in particular called ‘The Flypaper’ which is really creepy!
The Crow! I watch The Crow every year. Dark, Rainy, The Cemetery. So Halloweeny, so beautiful. Also the dark backstory of the making of this movie. One of my all-time faves.
Typically I don't rewatch anything in October, save for the 31st, I tend to use that month to knock off anything new that I haven't got around to so it always feels fresh 😊 but the 31st is definitely when I fall into comfort watches, oddly a lot of my films then are family friendly so it's always going to be Trick R Treat Drag Me to Hell (can't explain why but this always fits the vibe for me) ParaNorman Arsenic and Old Lace Casper & The Witches. Great list though for anyone just starting to get into horror ☺
These are great films! For Halloween, I always watch these movies: -Halloween (obviously) -Fright Night -Corpse Bride -REC -Final Destination 3 -The Exorcist -Hocus Pocus -Trick or Treat -Crimson Peak -The Witch
OMG! I love how you categorized the movies based on a general feeling or setting. It's hard to find suggestions for a horror movie with a specific asthetic or setting. I can see myself 2 hours from now still watching your content bc that's exactly what I'm about to do🤣
Sinister and The Ring made me cry from fear when I watched them and I haven't seen them again! Kinda sorta Halloween-y but kinda not is The Void. It is so freaky and great if you like Lovecraft type of vibes
Yay! Gonjiam Haunted Asylum made the list! It's great at creating the feeling of Claustrophobia and confusion. The Blair Witch Project makes you feel more lost without a sense of direction. Gonjiam makes you feel trapped with nowhere to run and hide.
the Blair witch projest is nothing like it was when it first came out. noi credits, no names of actors. it was escorted with new clippings placed online that looked like news paper articles about those kids and the area. A crap ton of people actually thought those three kids died and they shoed that footage in cinema screens like watching some knd of CN proadcats of people jumping from the world trade center before it went down. 2 of those actors never even for credits until 10 years later, Heather I saw died barely anyone knowing who she was... it was more about how they orgrastrated that movie that made it the all time 'cost to make vs gross at the cinema' movie ever done. 60k to make vs half a billion world wide.
I agree, I understand how people don't like it because it humanized Michael Myers and tried to make us get to know his back story more. But I personally like his version! It's a solid horror film haha! I still gotta rank Carpenter's original version above though!
@@CheerstoFears I love them both so it's hard to choose. And I agree Rob did a good job at showing how Micheal became who he is also Tyler Mane is my favorite Micheal he's scary as hell lol and I actually love Scout Taylor Compton as Laurie Strode
One of my favorites around this time of year is Guillermo Del Toro's "Dont Be Afraid of the Dark" the vibes in that movie are amazing and the fantasy horror angle is one we don't see often enough to me
Don’t come for me, but my Halloween tradition has been to watch Killer Klowns From Outer Space. 😂 I just love the cheesiness of it, terrible 80s special affects.
My rotation during October would include...Misery, Dawn of the dead(remake), ju-on(Japanese version),return of the living dead, night of the living dead(1991), pyscho 2, day of the dead, Splinter, Halloween 2, jeepers creepers, It follows, a Nightmare on elm Street, fright night(1985),Dead End(2004), We are still here..to name a few
So happy you mentioned Sleepy Hollow, i adore that movie. It's one of the few horror movies that manages to get the balance of campy humour & disturbing horror just right without being either too silly, or too scary for younger viewers, & Johnny Depp's performance in the movie is one of his best. My brother & i used to watch Sleepy Hollow a lot as kids, & it's still one of my favourite movies to watch on Halloween night along with Trick r Treat & the original Halloween. Another good one to watch during October is the original version of The Fog.
After watching this video, yes! It is the only halloween movie list i’ll ever need. Great picks 👍🏻 Hope you’re doing well and i hope you have a great weekend. I send lots of love your way 😊❤️
I just discovered Trick last year, I was pleasantly surprised how much fun it was. Recommending it to all my friends for Halloween movie marathons this year.
“Well, my spooky marathon never really ends, does it?” Love that 😂❤️ Thank you for another great movie list!! Trick r Treat, Hocus Pocus, and Scary Godmother Halloween Spooktakular are my must watches every year!
Finally someone that feels the way I feel about Gonjiam!!! Watched it a few months ago and it’s sooooo good, and I was terrified after watching it. I loved all the characters, and the setting is just perfect. Reminds me so much of Grave Encounters, which is another fave of mine!!
Have you seen "REC"? It's a Spanish found footage movie and it's soooo good. It's not a "searching a supposedly haunted building" film, but most of it takes place at one location.
Soooooo glad this channel was recommended for me because I think we might have the same taste in horror movies (except I loved Malignant but we don't have to talk about that hahaha)
You brought up making Halloween into a drinking game, if anyone needs help with that we do exactly that haha! I didn't expect to hear that suggestion from you but after hearing it I couldn't help but comment!
I always try to watch Rocky Horror Picture Show. Last year I just picked a bunch of stuff, not necessarily halloween vibe. Silence of the lambs, rosemary’s baby, the conjuring, pet semetary, the shining, Dracula, 1912, in the tall grass, exorcist. Thanks for so many new ones I can try!
@@emmmahezw Gonjiam is really good. Highly recommended. HHLLC: Ok, I really like found footage horror, but I don't think you need to be a fan of the sub-genre to love this movie. (-:
@@fisheyenomiko I’ll get right on it! I get scared really easily if I’m being honest, so I’ll wait to watch it during the day tomorrow when I’m off of work instead of tonight. I’m using the excuse that I want to be alert and awake so I can read the subtitles haha. Wish me luck, guys!
(Not Halloween themed) Suspiria, Deep red, Exorcist, Exorcist 3, The changeling (1980), Rosemary's Baby, It Follows, Hereditary, Midsommar, Us. I've been enjoying Malignant the more I watch it. Why the close up of the panda socks?
Thank you for a fun list. I have now watched all the movies on your list that I hadn't seen yet, and our taste is very different - especially with the movies in part one. That doesn't matter, it was fun crossing "unseen" Halloween movies of my list. One recommendation I woul'd like to give is the 1989 Tom Hanks movie The Burbs. It is a commedy with elements of horror. A great movie to watch in October. Kind regards from Norway.
I love May. I rewatched it recently and still found May super captivating. I had added Gonjiam to my list since I saw you rated it so highly. I’m excited to check it out.
I guess Halloween 4 in particular would make it on my list. It's very nostalgic for me because of being a little kid walking around the neighborhoods late at night with my halloween costume feeling scared :) *also the scene having multiple Michael Myers on the street acting in character was so relatable
You're my faaaaav horror youtuber and I only found you a few months ago! You just saved me so much time trying to figure out a bunch of movies to watch 💕 thank youuu
I have a feeling my list is going to look similar. Glad you included "Hellfest". I haven't seen "Cry Wolf" since it came out. I'd like to check it out again.
@@loganc1158 No, but Dick Warlock, who played Michael in part II, was in III as one of the androids. He was also a stunt coordinator for both films. (-:
THANK YOU for the House on Haunted Hill appreciation! The one scene near the end when Nell looks in the mirror and her face is all distorted and smiley ACTUALLY traumatized me as a child. I'm 33 and have seen ALL the horror movies, and that scene still is the scene I have to close my eyes during 😶
I’ve been trying to find movies I can watch with my dog. His favourite movie is Halloween so we are going to try sleepy hollow this year because he obsessed over horses.

Thank you for including "Terrifier". I rarely see/hear it mentioned, and Art the Clown is one of the scariest, dare I say "terrifying" clown villains ever.
The Rite with Anthony Hopkins is a tense movie to watch during October. You've metioned some movies I've never heard of before. I'm gonna check em out, thanks! 👍
Such a great list! I started making my Halloween watch list a couple months ago lol There are a few you mentioned I haven't even heard of tho that I'm now interested in checking out, thanks! ❤🎃🦇💀🐱
One of my all time favorites that I think should be a must see based on Halloween is Night of the Demons(1988) There is a remake but the original just as a great quality to it. Its a fun movie for pure enjoyment not to be taken seriously. It's campy and still very creepy. Highly recommend!
