I just did my tail lights and fogs with this material and tape technique. Overall it's really nice to work with, takes a little getting used to the thick material, I ruined the first piece with some permanent fingering from overstretching slightly. Good gloss, good scratch healing, good light transfer.. I did light smoke.
Brother Tintman...you’re videos rock. Some folks are just gifted in certain ways and you’ve got a gift for teaching and mad skills for wrapping!! I started with little knowledge on wrapping and tinting. I got hooked...love the stuff although it can be aggravating and difficult at times for sure. Your videos are the best and a tremendous help. Thanks...keep them coming!!
I'm honestly amazed by how awesome this looks and how easy it looks! I had the absolute worst experience on my first and second attempts at tinting my taillights because I was using bad stuff and I had no clue what I was doing. I was about to give up and take it to a shop until I saw your video. I'm definitely going to be trying this!
Man, after only watching a handful of videos I can already tell you're one of the best in the game when it comes to RU-vid content. Not to mention your skills. Very detailed and informative. And you obviously have a great amount of experience and passion for what you do. Wish there was someone like you around my area. I gotta travel at least 50 miles just to get some decent quality work that I'm sure is still about 50% of the quality you do. Keep up the great work bro love watching the vids! 🤘
Thanks mate, I bought the same tint and installed today and they looks good. I think I have nearly the easiest tail light to tint and still took me a good 30 mins per side while the Subaru is super hard for me and you did it in 10 mins. I am embarrassed. Thanks for your video.
Thank you! Your video is probably the only one who shows how to get around curvy tail lamps... Tried it again (coz I kept getting wrinkles at the top of the rear light) and the wrinkles are not as bad... Im gonna try again soon.. Hope I can get it perfect the next time..
I did my Denali taillights with this stuff. It's easy at first, but once you start having to navigate corners and edges it gets tedious and using the heat gun becomes important. You can melt the vinyl too much :-) Try not to handle it anywhere where it will touch the lens, your finger oils will eventually cause it to peel. It also seems best to try and wrap the edges around the light otherwise it may peel off.
Ive literally just tinted my taillights for the first time using these Vvivid wraps and this tutorial helped a bunch. It was so easy to work with. HOWEVER, could anybody please give me some advice on how to avoid those glue lines?
I just did this today to my 2018 silverado 1500. First time wraping and it came out exelent no bubbles, no creases perfect. The only thing i messed up it was because i did the light in my room,, bad idea i thoughtbit would be easier like that but no no no.. Thanks for the video!!!
I just purchased my first roll of Vivvid dark smoke lense tint to do my girlfriend' mustang. I was going to start doing headlight tints, black out roof wraps, carbon fiber hood wraps ect to get into it myself. Video is exactly what I needed to see today!! Thank you!!!
Just done this with same stuff on Mazda 6 and looks good. Took lights out in the end as mad it easier for us and also a lot better with 2 people. The key is to get the heat and stretch into it. Thanks for the video
I appreciate your videos. You’re jam packed with a lot of info and very detailed. If I ever do decide to get certified to wrap or take a wrap class, I will be sure to use yours. Even though you’re in Canada and there’s a lot of available classes in the u.s, I wouldn’t feel right using it because I’ve started with you
I use VViViD Transparent Dry Carbon Fibre Vinyl Wrap with VHT (SP999-6 PK Black Nite-Shade Lens Tint - 10 oz. Aerosol. The VHT allows you to adjust the tint level & the vinyl sets it apart from anything I've seen before. Because it's dry carbon it's perfect for satin & matte color schemes.
To the haters, don't. Life is too short. This guy is the man with the talents, and I am an old woman who likes cars. After tinting my windows, twice- Im getting better- I saw the taillight tint videos. I appreciate how he does the videos, he asks questions as he goes, and answers them. I would ask many of the same questions, so its a great way for me to learn. And, I have learned to keep my heat gun nearby, LOL, just kidding. I have never posted like this and apologize for the length, cause all I really wanted to say was, THANK YOU!! I learned from your videos and still am. Who knows maybe one day the whole car...... (hope I posted these right, I dont see an edit option or delete my comment) Oh, don't look too close, you will see the flaws, and it took me hours what you could have done in minutes, but the point is, I had fun. So, Thank you for doing the videos, keep going. i.imgur.com/uMOJagO.jpg i.imgur.com/stDYPRU.jpg
Best tutorial video ever. Ordered the same tail light tint used your tape trick around lights. BOOM success. Wasn’t perfect on my first go around. But super happy with the process. Thanks!!
I am about to do yellow on my 2017 Tacoma headlights, and fogs, and they are not very flat, def the most bulbous headlight housing on the 4Runner and Taco. thinking there will be a lot of fingering, but this video was super helpful with starting at flat spots and just heat and working it as you go. Thanks man if it comes out nice ill give credit here
Dude, you're really good. I have a 2018 BMW 540. It has some pretty aggressive geometric shapes to the tail lights. I was ready to use the spray-tint until I watched some of your videos. Just placed and order for the film. Wish me luck!
Love your channel. Getting ready to do my tail lights and re-wrap the hood on my Camaro SS 1LE this weekend. I've hopefully learned a lot by watching your videos.
Just ordered some of the light smoke tint thanks to this video, I saw the old one you did on the bmw a while ago but this one made me pull the trigger.
Love all your videos man!!! I'm going to some vinyl wrapping classes next week with Justin Pate and I'm super excited!! your videos are so great, keep up the amazing work! maybe we could get together sometime!
Can you make a video on how to wrap 2018+ Mustang tail lights? Several shops said they can't do them, I tried and it's not the best granted it was my first wrap ever.
I did the tail lights on a dodge Journey and it came out almost perfect the first time but I was feeling myself and cut it too short Every attempt after has been full of fingers on the top edge
Great video......thanks I will tinting headlights and taillights on my 03 Ford Expedition as soon as the vinyl shows up...........I use my 03 truck as my vinyl wrap practice mule.........lol
Used this on my F80 M3 tails and it came out great. Pretty tacky stuff. I've had a tad bit of pullback around some parts of the edge because I should have cut right at the edge instead of wrapping it around the light with a bit of excess like I did. No biggie.
I’ve used the light smoke tint on my taillights and it looks great, I want to do it to my headlights but I’m worried about spider cracks/crazing because of why I have read on forums. What is your experience with this?
Hi. Been following your videos for a long time now. I have finally decided to attempt to smoke tint my own tail lamps. I just received my Vvivid vinyl and a felt tipped applicator tool. Just wanted to say thanks for these tutorials and I really appreciate you sharing your skills and tips with everyone.
Great job as usual, but I had a question, you see how once you have tinted the tail light, that shade of red looks super nice, do you have that exact same color available in a car wrap? That color looks super nice.
Hey looks great .going to wrap my 2015 ford edge sport very easy to.pull my rear tail lights will.pull them off and wrap them I used vivid carbon fibre to wrap piano console inside was easy keep up great work thanks
CK Wraps , Please could you make a video tutorial of the BMW 535 tail light wrap using the VVivid Bio Hex film . the lights have double contour which will prove problematic . Cheers JS
CK the real deal, period...... I have issues removing the wrinkles on the edges with a pre-cut vinyl... gonna try your film... any recommendation for E46 M3 LED OEM taillights> type of film?
You make it look easy. I tried this on a Ford Fiesta MK7 that was impossible to get it perfect without all the lines and bubbles, so i gave up after 1 hour of fighting and pain in the hands. But i had the taillights off, of the car. So that may explain it.
How did I know that the ONLY tint he would use would be vivid. It's the ONLY stuff that's ever used. To say it's soo good that it's the only brand used its amazing how many people say it's shit
I really like your videos. Thanks. Btw, and this might be a stupid question, is it possible to wrap a tail light that is already wrapped. Meaning wrap it twice to further darken it, in case the tint i got is lighter that what i like.
I know this video is older now, but would you happen to know what the metallic yellow vinyl on the car in the background is? I’m getting my Alfa Romeo Giulia wrapped (among other things like exhaust and suspension) starting on the 20th of this month. I’m really feeling the TeckWrap hornet yellow, which I kind of feel is what is on that car in the background. If not, I need to know! Haha. That color is the exact color I’m looking for. Thank you! Absolutely love your channel. Have been watching for months now and have seen damn near all of them haha.
Solid video I just wish the cutting part was a tighter shot. Also would have been cool to see the lights on to see the differences between tinted and not.
hey CK, i was wondering, tint costs are different for a roll. How much wrap film rolls do I order to have enough supply for multiple cars that want headlight/tail light tints? How much could I charge for a service like this? I hate my current job and want to continue and refresh my tinting/wrap skills. Your videos have helped alot and made me realize my passion is back in the auto industry. I hope you see this. Thanks
Thank you so much for this video. Super helpful and informative I was able to install the vivid smoke vinyl on the taillights and signal lights of my jeep. thank you
Thanks I did DIY and almost came out great for a 1st timer My question how much do you leave on the edges so the vinyl wraps around the light? I cut to near the edge and noticed the following day started to peel back Any suggestions?
Looks great, so sorry could you make it clear which tint you use for the head lights and which you use for the tail lights please. That way I know which ones to get. If you could also add links to the specific ones please.
